Psalms 77
1 For the excellent musician Ieduthun. A Psalme committed to Asaph. My voyce came to God, when I cryed: my voyce came to God, and he heard me.
Ma voix s'adresse à Dieu, et je crie, ma voix s'adresse à Dieu, et il m'écoutera.
2 In the day of my trouble I sought ye Lord: my sore ranne and ceased not in the night: my soule refused comfort.
Au jour de ma détresse, j'ai cherché le Seigneur; la nuit, ma main était étendue vers lui et ne se lassait point; mon âme refusait d'être consolée.
3 I did thinke vpon God, and was troubled: I praied, and my spirit was full of anguish. (Selah)
Je me souvenais de Dieu, et je gémissais; je méditais, et mon esprit était abattu. (Sélah, pause)
4 Thou keepest mine eyes waking: I was astonied and could not speake.
Tu avais retenu mes yeux dans les veilles; j'étais troublé, je ne pouvais parler.
5 Then I considered the daies of olde, and the yeeres of ancient time.
Je pensais aux jours d'autrefois, aux années des temps passés.
6 I called to remembrance my song in the night: I communed with mine owne heart, and my spirit searched diligently.
Je me rappelais mes mélodies de la nuit; je méditais en mon cœur, et mon esprit examinait.
7 Will the Lord absent him selfe for euer? and will he shewe no more fauour?
Le Seigneur rejettera-t-il pour toujours, ne sera-t-il plus désormais propice?
8 Is his mercie cleane gone for euer? doeth his promise faile for euermore?
Sa bonté a-t-elle cessé pour toujours? Sa parole a-t-elle pris fin pour tous les âges?
9 Hath God forgotten to be mercifull? hath he shut vp his teder mercies in displeasure? (Selah)
Dieu a-t-il oublié d'avoir pitié? A-t-il dans sa colère fermé ses compassions?
10 And I sayde, This is my death: yet I remembred the yeeres of the right hand of the most High.
Et j'ai dit: Voilà ce qui fait ma souffrance: C'est que la droite du Très-Haut a changé.
11 I remembred the workes of the Lord: certainely I remembred thy wonders of olde.
Je me rappellerai les exploits de l'Éternel, me souvenant de tes merveilles d'autrefois;
12 I did also meditate all thy woorkes, and did deuise of thine actes, saying,
Je méditerai sur toutes tes œuvres, et je considérerai tes hauts faits.
13 Thy way, O God, is in the Sanctuarie: who is so great a God as our God!
O Dieu, tes voies sont saintes! Quel autre Dieu est grand comme Dieu?
14 Thou art ye God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy power among the people.
Tu es le Dieu qui fait des merveilles; tu as fait connaître ta force parmi les peuples.
15 Thou hast redeemed thy people with thine arme, euen the sonnes of Iaakob and Ioseph. (Selah)
Par ton bras, tu rachetas ton peuple, les enfants de Jacob et de Joseph. (Sélah)
16 The waters sawe thee, O God: the waters sawe thee, and were afraide: yea, the depths trembled.
Les eaux te virent, ô Dieu! Les eaux te virent; elles tremblèrent; même les abîmes s'émurent.
17 The cloudes powred out water: the heauens gaue a sounde: yea, thine arrowes went abroade.
Les nues se répandirent en eaux; les nuages tonnèrent; tes traits aussi volèrent çà et là.
18 The voyce of thy thunder was rounde about: the lightnings lightened the worlde: the earth trembled and shooke.
Ton tonnerre gronda dans le tourbillon; les éclairs brillèrent sur le monde; la terre s'émut et trembla.
19 Thy way is in the Sea, and thy paths in the great waters, and thy footesteps are not knowen.
Tu as fait ton chemin dans la mer, tes sentiers dans les grandes eaux; et tes traces n'ont point été connues.
20 Thou diddest leade thy people like sheepe by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Tu as conduit ton peuple comme un troupeau, par la main de Moïse et d'Aaron.
