< Psalms 7 >

1 Shigaion of Dauid, which he sang unto the Lord, concerning the wordes of Chush the sonne of Iemini. O Lord my God, in thee I put my trust: saue me from all that persecute me, and deliuer me,
Ko e Sikaiona ʻa Tevita, ʻaia naʻa ne hiva ʻaki kia Sihova, ko e meʻa ʻi he ngaahi lea ʻa Kusi mei he faʻahinga ʻo Penisimani. ‌ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, ʻoku ou falala pe kiate koe: ke ke fakamoʻui au meiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fakatangaʻi au, mo ke fakahaofi au.
2 Least he deuoure my soule like a lion, and teare it in pieces, while there is none to helpe.
Telia naʻa ne haehae hoku laumālie ʻo hangē ko e laione, ʻo haehae ia ke fakaikiiki, ʻoka ʻikai ha fakahaofi.
3 O Lord my God, if I haue done this thing, if there be any wickednes in mine handes,
‌ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, kapau naʻaku fai eni; kapau ʻoku ai ha angahala ʻi hoku nima;
4 If I haue rewarded euill vnto him that had peace with mee, (yea I haue deliuered him that vexed me without cause)
Kapau ne u totongi kovi kiate ia naʻe nofo ʻi he melino mo au; ʻio, naʻaku fakamoʻui ia ʻaia kuo hoko ko hoku fili taʻehanoʻuhinga:
5 Then let the enemie persecute my soule and take it: yea, let him treade my life downe vpon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. (Selah)
Tuku ke tuli hoku laumālie ʻe he fili, pea maʻu ia; ʻio, tuku ke ne molomoloki hifo ʻeku moʻui ʻi he kelekele, pea fakatokoto hoku ongoongolelei ʻi he efu. (Sila)
6 Arise, O Lord, in thy wrath, and lift vp thy selfe against the rage of mine enemies, and awake for mee according to the iudgement that thou hast appointed.
Tuʻu hake, ʻE Sihova, ʻi ho houhau, ke ke hiki hake koe, ko e meʻa ʻi he lili ʻo hoku ngaahi fili: pea ke ʻā hake koeʻuhi ko au ki he fakamaau ʻaia naʻa ke fekau.
7 So shall the Congregation of the people compasse thee about: for their sakes therefore returne on hie.
Pehē ʻe kāpui koe ʻe he fakataha ʻoe kakai: ko ia ko e meʻa ʻiate kinautolu ke ke hāʻele hake ki ʻolunga.
8 The Lord shall iudge the people: Iudge thou me, O Lord, according to my righteousnesse, and according to mine innocencie, that is in mee.
‌ʻE fakamaau ʻe Sihova ʻae kakai: ke ke fakamaau au, ʻE Sihova, ʻo fakatatau ki heʻeku māʻoniʻoni, pea hangē ko ʻeku angatonu ʻoku ʻiate au.
9 Oh let the malice of the wicked come to an ende: but guide thou the iust: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reines.
Tuku ke ngata ʻae kovi ʻoe angakovi, ka ke fakatuʻumaʻu ʻae angatonu: he ʻoku ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻe he ʻOtua māʻoniʻoni ʻae ngaahi loto mo e ngaahi konga loto.
10 My defence is in God, who preserueth the vpright in heart.
‌ʻOku ʻi he ʻOtua ʻa hoku fakaū, ʻaia ʻoku ne fakamoʻui ʻae kakai angatonu ʻi loto.
11 God iudgeth the righteous, and him that contemneth God euery day.
‌ʻOku fakamaau ʻe he ʻOtua ʻae māʻoniʻoni, pea ʻoku houhau ʻae ʻOtua ki he angakovi ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
12 Except he turne, he hath whet his sword: he hath bent his bowe and made it readie.
Kapau ʻe ʻikai te ne tafoki, te ne fakamata ʻa ʻene heletā; kuo ne teteke ʻene kaufana, ʻo teuteu ia.
13 Hee hath also prepared him deadly weapons: hee will ordeine his arrowes for them that persecute me.
Kuo ne teuteu foki kiate ia ʻae ngaahi meʻa fakapō; ʻoku ne tuʻutuʻuni ʻene ngaahi ngahau ki he kau fakatanga.
14 Beholde, hee shall trauaile with wickednes: for he hath conceiued mischiefe, but he shall bring foorth a lye.
Vakai, ʻoku langā ia ʻi he angakovi, pea kuo ne tuʻituʻia ʻae angapauʻu, pea fanauʻi ʻe ia ʻae kākā.
15 Hee hath made a pitte and digged it, and is fallen into the pit that he made.
Naʻa ne ngaohi ʻae luo, ʻo keli ia, pea kuo tō ia ki he luo naʻa ne ngaohi.
16 His mischiefe shall returne vpon his owne head, and his crueltie shall fall vpon his owne pate.
‌ʻE foki ki hono ʻulu ʻoʻona ʻa ʻene angapauʻu, pea ʻe tō hifo ki hono tumuʻaki ʻoʻona ʻa ʻene ngāue fakamālohi.
17 I wil praise the Lord according to his righteousnes, and will sing praise to the Name of the Lord most high.
Te u fakafetaʻi kia Sihova ʻo fakatatau ki heʻene māʻoniʻoni: pea te u hiva ʻaki ʻae fakafetaʻi ki he huafa ʻo Sihova ʻoku māʻolunga taha pe.
