Psalms 60
1 To him that excelleth upon Shushan Eduth, or Michtam. A Psalme of David to teach. When he fought against Aram Naharaim, and against Aram Zobah, when Joab returned and slew twelve thousand Edomites in the salt valley. O God, thou hast cast vs out, thou hast scattered vs, thou hast bene angry, turne againe vnto vs.
Dem Musikmeister, nach “Lilie des Zeugnisses”. Ein Mikhtam von David, zum Lehren, als er mit den Aramäern von Mesopotamien und den Aramäern von Zoba stritt, und Joab umkehrte und die Edomiter im Salzthale schlug, zwölftausend Mann. Gott, du hast uns verworfen, hast und zersprengt; du zürntest - stelle uns wieder her!
2 Thou hast made the land to tremble, and hast made it to gape: heale the breaches thereof, for it is shaken.
Du hast die Erde erschüttert, hast sie gespalten; heile ihre Brüche, denn sie wankt!
3 Thou hast shewed thy people heauy things: thou hast made vs to drinke the wine of giddines.
Du ließest dein Volk Schweres erleben, tränktest uns mit Taumelwein.
4 But now thou hast giuen a banner to them that feare thee, that it may be displayed because of thy trueth. (Selah)
Du gabst denen, die dich fürchten, ein Panier, sich zu erheben um der Wahrheit willen. (Sela)
5 That thy beloued may be deliuered, helpe with thy right hand and heare me.
Damit deine Geliebten errettet werden, so hilf nun mit deiner Rechten und erhöre uns.
6 God hath spoken in his holines: therefore I will reioyce: I shall deuide Shechem, and measure the valley of Succoth.
Gott hat in seinem Heiligtume geredet: “Ich will frohlocken! Ich will Sichem verteilen und das Thal Sukkoth ausmessen.
7 Gilead shalbe mine, and Manasseh shalbe mine: Ephraim also shalbe the strength of mine head: Iudah is my lawgiuer.
Mein ist Gilead und mein ist Manasse, und Ephraim ist die Schutzwehr meines Hauptes, Juda mein Herrscherstab!
8 Moab shalbe my wash pot: ouer Edom will I cast out my shoe: Palestina shew thy selfe ioyfull for me.
Moab ist mein Waschbecken; auf Edom werfe ich meinen Schuh, über Philistäa jauchze ich”.
9 Who will leade me into the strong citie? who will bring me vnto Edom?
Wer führt mich nach der festen Stadt? Wer geleitet mich nach Edom?
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadest cast vs off, and didest not go forth, O God, with our armies?
Hast nicht du, o Gott, uns verworfen und ziehst nicht aus, o Gott, mit unseren Heeren?
11 Giue vs helpe against trouble: for vaine is the helpe of man.
Schaffe uns Hilfe gegen den Feind,
12 Through God we shall doe valiantly: for he shall tread downe our enemies.
Mit Gott werden wir Heldenthaten verrichten,
