Psalms 56
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David on Michtam, concerning the dumme doue in a farre countrey, when the Philistims tooke him in Gath. Be mercifull vnto me, O God, for man would swallow me vp: he fighteth continually and vexeth me.
| برای رهبر سرایندگان: در مایۀ «کبوتر بر درختان بلوط دوردست». غزل داوود دربارۀ زمانی که فلسطینیان او را در جَت گرفتار کردند. ای خدا، بر من رحم فرما، زیرا مورد هجوم دشمنان قرار گرفته‌ام و مخالفانم هر روز عرصه را بر من تنگ‌تر می‌کنند. |
2 Mine enemies would dayly swallowe mee vp: for many fight against me, O thou most High.
| تمام روز دشمنانم بر من یورش می‌آورند. مخالفانم که با من می‌جنگند بسیارند. |
3 When I was afrayd, I trusted in thee.
| هنگامی که بترسم، ای خداوند، بر تو توکل خواهم کرد. |
4 I will reioyce in God, because of his word, I trust in God, and will not feare what flesh can doe vnto me.
| وعده‌های خداوند را می‌ستایم و بر او توکل دارم، پس نخواهم ترسید، انسان فانی به من چه می‌تواند کرد؟ |
5 Mine owne wordes grieue me dayly: all their thoughtes are against me to doe me hurt.
| دشمنانم تمام روز در فکر آزار من هستند و یک دم مرا راحت نمی‌گذارند. |
6 They gather together, and keepe them selues close: they marke my steps, because they waite for my soule.
| آنها با هم جمع شده در کمین می‌نشینند و تمام حرکات مرا زیر نظر گرفته، قصد جانم را می‌کنند. |
7 They thinke they shall escape by iniquitie: O God, cast these people downe in thine anger.
| خدایا، نگذار آنها با این همه شرارت، جان به در برند. با خشم خود آنها را سرنگون کن. |
8 Thou hast counted my wandrings: put my teares into thy bottel: are they not in thy register?
| تو از پریشانی من آگاهی؛ حساب اشکهایم را داری و آن را در دفترت ثبت کرده‌ای. |
9 When I cry, then mine enemies shall turne backe: this I know, for God is with me.
| روزی که تو را به کمک بخوانم، دشمنانم شکست خورده، خواهند گریخت. یقین دارم که خداوند پشتیبان من است. |
10 I will reioyce in God because of his worde: in the Lord wil I reioyce because of his worde.
| وعده‌های خداوند را می‌ستایم و بر او توکل دارم، |
11 In God doe I trust: I will not be afrayd what man can doe vnto me.
| پس نخواهم ترسید. انسان به من چه می‌تواند کرد؟ |
12 Thy vowes are vpon me, O God: I will render prayses vnto thee.
| خدایا، نذرهای خود را ادا خواهم کرد و قربانیهای تشکر را به درگاه تو تقدیم خواهم نمود، |
13 For thou hast deliuered my soule from death, and also my feete from falling, that I may walke before God in the light of the liuing.
| زیرا تو مرا از پرتگاه مرگ رهانیدی و نگذاشتی پایم بلغزد و نابود شوم تا بتوانم اکنون در نور حیاتی که در حضور توست راه روم. |
