Psalms 54

1 To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of David, to give instruction. When the Ziphims came and said unto Saul, Is not David hid among us? Save mee, O God, by thy Name, and by thy power iudge me.

Au chef de musique. Sur Neguinoth; pour instruire. De David; lorsque les Ziphiens vinrent, et dirent à Saül: David ne se tient-il pas caché auprès de nous? Ô Dieu! sauve-moi par ton nom, et fais-moi justice par ta puissance.

2 O God, heare my prayer: hearken vnto the wordes of my mouth.

Ô Dieu! écoute ma prière, prête l’oreille aux paroles de ma bouche.

3 For strangers are risen vp against me, and tyrants seeke my soule: they haue not set God before them. (Selah)

Car des étrangers se sont levés contre moi, et des hommes violents cherchent ma vie; ils n’ont pas mis Dieu devant eux. (Sélah)

4 Beholde, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that vpholde my soule.

Voici, Dieu est mon secours; le Seigneur est entre ceux qui soutiennent mon âme.

5 He shall rewarde euill vnto mine enemies: Oh cut them off in thy trueth!

Il rendra le mal à ceux qui me pressent: selon ta vérité, détruis-les.

6 Then I will sacrifice freely vnto thee: I wil praise thy Name, O Lord, because it is good.

De franche volonté je t’offrirai des sacrifices; je célébrerai ton nom, ô Éternel! car cela est bon.

7 For he hath deliuered me out of al trouble, and mine eye hath seene my desire vpon mine enemies.

Car il m’a délivré de toute détresse, et mon œil a vu [son plaisir] en mes ennemis.
