Psalms 52

1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid to giue instruction. When Doeg the Edomite came and shewed Saul, and saide to him, Dauid is come to the house of Abimelech. Why boastest thou thy selfe in thy wickednesse, O man of power? the louing kindenesse of God indureth dayly.

Hỡi người mạnh dạn, sao ngươi tự khoe về sự dữ? Sự nhơn từ của Ðức Chúa Trời còn mãi mãi.

2 Thy tongue imagineth mischiefe, and is like a sharpe rasor, that cutteth deceitfully.

Lưỡi ngươi toan sự tà ác và làm điều giả dối, Khác nào dao-cạo bén.

3 Thou doest loue euill more then good, and lies more then to speake the trueth. (Selah)

Ngươi chuộng điều dữ hơn là điều lành, Thích sự nói dối hơn là nói sự công bình.

4 Thou louest all wordes that may destroye, O deceitfull tongue!

Hỡi lưỡi dối trá, Ngươi ưa mến các lời tàn hại.

5 So shall God destroy thee for euer: he shall take thee and plucke thee out of thy tabernacle, and roote thee out of ye land of the liuing. (Selah)

Ðức Chúa Trời cũng sẽ phá hại ngươi đời đời; Ngài sẽ bắt ngươi, rứt ngươi khỏi trại ngươi, Và nhổ ngươi khỏi đất kẻ sống.

6 The righteous also shall see it, and feare, and shall laugh at him, saying,

Người công bình sẽ thấy, bèn bắt sợ, Và cười người, mà rằng:

7 Beholde the man that tooke not God for his strength, but trusted vnto the multitude of his riches, and put his strength in his malice.

Kìa, là người không nhờ Ðức Chúa Trời làm sức lực mình, Song nhờ cậy nơi sự giàu có hiếm hiệm mình. Làm cho mình vững bền trong sự ác mình!

8 But I shall bee like a greene oliue tree in the house of God: for I trusted in the mercie of God for euer and euer.

Còn tôi khác nào cây ô-li-ve xanh tươi trong nhà Ðức Chúa Trời; Tôi nhờ cậy nơi lòng nhơn từ của Ðức Chúa Trời đến đời đời vô cùng.

9 I will alway praise thee, for that thou hast done this, and I will hope in thy Name, because it is good before thy Saints.

Tôi sẽ cảm tạ Chúa đời đời, vì Ngài đã làm việc đó: Tôi sẽ trông cậy nơi danh Chúa Trước mặt các người thánh của Chúa, vì điều đó là tốt lành.
