Psalms 49
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Heare this, all ye people: giue eare, all ye that dwell in the world,
Salmo, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, de' figliuoli di Core UDITE questo, popoli tutti; Porgete gli orecchi, [voi] tutti gli abitanti del mondo;
2 As well lowe as hie, both rich and poore.
E plebei, e nobili, E ricchi, e bisognosi tutti insieme.
3 My mouth shall speake of wisdome, and the meditation of mine heart is of knowledge.
La mia bocca proferirà [cose di] gran sapienza; E il ragionamento del mio cuore [sarà] di cose di grande intendimento.
4 I will incline mine eare to a parable, and vtter my graue matter vpon the harpe.
Io inchinerò il mio orecchio alle sentenze; Io spiegherò sopra la cetera i miei detti notevoli.
5 Wherefore should I feare in the euil dayes, when iniquitie shall compasse me about, as at mine heeles?
Perchè temerò ne' gioni dell'avversità [Quando] l'iniquità che mi è alle calcagna m'intornierà?
6 They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches.
[Ve ne son molti] che si confidano ne' lor beni, E si gloriano della grandezza delle lor ricchezze.
7 Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God,
Niuno però può riscuotere il suo fratello, Nè dare a Dio il prezzo del suo riscatto.
8 (So precious is the redemption of their soules, and the continuance for euer)
E il riscatto della lor [propria] anima non può trovarsi, E il [modo ne] mancherà in perpetuo;
9 That he may liue still for euer, and not see the graue.
Per fare che continuino a vivere in perpetuo, [E] che non veggano la fossa;
10 For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others.
Conciossiachè veggano [che] i savi muoiono, [E che] parimente i pazzi, e gli stolti periscono, E lasciano i lor beni ad altri.
11 Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names.
Il loro intimo [pensiero è che] le lor case [dimoreranno] in eterno, [E che] le loro abitazioni [dureranno] per ogni età; Impongono i nomi loro a delle terre.
12 But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.
E pur l'uomo [che è] in onore non [vi] dimora [sempre]; [Anzi] è renduto simile alle bestie [che] periscono.
13 This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. (Selah)
Questa lor via [è] loro una pazzia; E pure i lor discendenti si compiacciono a seguire i lor precetti. (Sela)
14 Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue. (Sheol h7585)
Saranno posti sotterra, come pecore; La morte li pasturerà; E gli [uomini] diritti signoreggeranno sopra loro in quella mattina; E il sepolcro consumerà la lor bella apparenza, [Che sarà portata via] dal suo abitacolo. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Ma Iddio riscuoterà l'anima mia dal sepolcro; (Sheol h7585)
16 Be not thou afrayd when one is made rich, and when the glory of his house is increased.
Non temere, quando alcuno sarà arricchito, Quando la gloria della sua casa sarà accresciuta.
17 For he shall take nothing away when he dieth, neither shall his pompe descende after him.
Perciocchè, quando egli morrà non torrà [seco] nulla; La sua gloria non gli scenderà dietro.
18 For while he liued, he reioyced himselfe: and men will prayse thee, when thou makest much of thy selfe.
Benchè egli abbia benedetta l'anima sua in vita sua; E [tali] ti lodino, se tu ti dài piacere, e buon tempo;
19 He shall enter into the generation of his fathers, and they shall not liue for euer.
Quella verrà [là ove è] la generazion de' suoi padri; Giammai in eterno non vedranno la luce.
20 Man is in honour, and vnderstandeth not: he is like to beasts that perish.
L'uomo [che è] in istato onorevole, e non ha intelletto, È simile alle bestie [che] periscono.
