Psalms 38
1 A Psalme of Dauid for remembrance. O Lord, rebuke mee not in thine anger, neither chastise me in thy wrath.
Psalm Dawida. Dla przypomnienia. PANIE, nie karć mnie w swym gniewie i nie karz mnie w swojej zapalczywości.
2 For thine arrowes haue light vpon me, and thine hand lyeth vpon me.
Twoje strzały utkwiły bowiem we mnie i ciąży na mnie twoja ręka.
3 There is nothing sound in my flesh, because of thine anger: neither is there rest in my bones because of my sinne.
Nie ma nic zdrowego w moim ciele wskutek twego gniewu, nie ma odpoczynku dla moich kości z powodu mojego grzechu.
4 For mine iniquities are gone ouer mine head, and as a weightie burden they are too heauie for me.
Bo moje nieprawości sięgają ponad moją głowę, obciążają mnie jak ciężkie brzemię.
5 My woundes are putrified, and corrupt because of my foolishnes.
Cuchną i ropieją moje rany z powodu mej głupoty.
6 I am bowed, and crooked very sore: I goe mourning all the day.
Jestem zgnębiony i bardzo pochylony, przez cały dzień chodzę smutny.
7 For my reines are full of burning, and there is nothing sound in my flesh.
Moje wnętrze bowiem pali straszna [dolegliwość] i nie ma nic zdrowego w moim ciele.
8 I am weakened and sore broken: I roare for the very griefe of mine heart.
Jestem osłabiony i bardzo załamany, zawodzę z powodu trwogi mego serca.
9 Lord, I powre my whole desire before thee, and my sighing is not hid from thee.
Panie, przed tobą [są] wszystkie moje pragnienia i moje wzdychanie nie jest przed tobą ukryte.
10 Mine heart panteth: my strength faileth me, and the light of mine eyes, euen they are not mine owne.
Moje serce trzepocze, opuściła mnie siła, a światło moich oczu znikło.
11 My louers and my friends stand aside from my plague, and my kinsmen stand a farre off.
Moi bliscy i przyjaciele stronią od moich ran, a moi krewni stoją z daleka.
12 They also, that seeke after my life, laye snares, and they that go about to do me euil, talke wicked things and imagine deceite continually.
Ci, którzy czyhają na moją duszę, zastawiają sidła, a ci, którzy pragną mego nieszczęścia, mówią przewrotnie i przez cały dzień knują podstępy.
13 But I as a deafe man heard not, and am as a dumme man, which openeth not his mouth.
Lecz ja niczym głuchy nie słyszałem i [byłem] jak niemy, [który] nie otwiera swych ust.
14 Thus am I as a man, that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofes.
I stałem się jak człowiek, który [nic] nie słyszy i nie ma w ustach upomnień.
15 For on thee, O Lord, do I waite: thou wilt heare me, my Lord, my God.
Ciebie bowiem, PANIE, oczekuję; ty odpowiesz, Panie, mój Boże.
16 For I said, Heare me, least they reioyce ouer me: for when my foote slippeth, they extol themselues against me.
Bo powiedziałem: Niech się nie cieszą z mojego powodu; gdy moja noga poślizgnie się, niech nie wynoszą się nade mnie.
17 Surely I am ready to halte, and my sorow is euer before me.
Jestem bowiem bliski upadku i moja boleść zawsze jest przede mną.
18 When I declare my paine, and am sory for my sinne,
Wyznaję więc moją nieprawość i boleję nad swoim grzechem.
19 Then mine enemies are aliue and are mightie, and they that hate me wrongfully are many.
Lecz moi wrogowie są zdrowi i silni i namnożyło się tych, którzy bez powodu mnie nienawidzą.
20 They also, that rewarde euill for good, are mine aduersaries, because I follow goodnesse.
Odpłacają mi złem za dobro i sprzeciwiają mi się, bo podążam za dobrem.
21 Forsake me not, O Lord: be not thou farre from me, my God.
Nie opuszczaj mnie, PANIE, mój Boże, nie oddalaj się ode mnie.
22 Haste thee to helpe mee, O my Lord, my saluation.
Pospiesz mi z pomocą, Panie, moje zbawienie.
