Psalms 34
1 A Psalme of Dauid, when he changed his behauiour before Abimelech, who droue him away, and he departed. I will alway giue thankes vnto the Lord: his praise shalbe in my mouth continually.
Von David, als er seinen Verstand vor Abimelech verstellte und dieser ihn verjagte, worauf er sich entfernte. Lobpreisen will ich jederzeit den Herrn. Sein Lob sei stets in meinem Munde!
2 My soule shall glory in the Lord: the humble shall heare it, and be glad.
Es rühme meine Seele sich im Herrn! Die Armen sollen's hören und sich freuen!
3 Praise ye the Lord with me, and let vs magnifie his Name together.
Verherrlichet den Herrn mit mir! Laßt uns gemeinsam seinen Namen preisen!
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me: yea, he deliuered me out of all my feare.
Den Herrn such ich auf; er hört auf mich, befreit mich aus den Ängsten all.
5 They shall looke vnto him, and runne to him: and their faces shall not be ashamed, saying,
Mich schauet an und strahlt vor Freude! Nie röte mehr sich euer Angesicht!
6 This poore man cryed, and the Lord heard him, and saued him out of all his troubles.
Hier ist ein armer Mensch, der einst gerufen. Der Herr vernahm's und half ihm aus den Nöten all.
7 The Angel of the Lord pitcheth round about them, that feare him, and deliuereth them.
Des Herrn Engel lagert sich um jene, die ihn fürchten, er rettet sie.
8 Taste ye and see, howe gratious the Lord is: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
So kostet und erfahrt, wie gut der Herr! Wie wohl dem Mann, der ihm vertraut!
9 Feare the Lord, ye his Saintes: for nothing wanteth to them that feare him.
Vorm Herrn habt Furcht, ihr, seine Heiligen! Denn die ihn fürchten, leiden keinen Mangel.
10 The lyons doe lacke and suffer hunger, but they, which seeke the Lord, shall want nothing that is good.
Die Gottesleugner hungern darbend; doch denen, die den Herrn aufsuchen, mangelt nicht, was ihnen frommt.
11 Come children, hearken vnto me: I will teache you the feare of the Lord.
Her, Kinder, hört mir zu! Ich lehre euch die Furcht des Herrn.
12 What man is he, that desireth life, and loueth long dayes for to see good?
Wer ist der Mann, der Lust zum Leben hat, der zum Genuß des Glückes leben möchte?
13 Keepe thy tongue from euill, and thy lips, that they speake no guile.
Behüte vor dem Bösen deine Zunge, vor trügerischer Rede deine Lippen!
14 Eschewe euill and doe good: seeke peace and follow after it.
Vom Bösen laß und tu das Gute! den Frieden such! Ihm jage nach!
15 The eyes of the Lord are vpon the righteous, and his eares are open vnto their crie.
Des Herrn Augen achten auf die Frommen und seine Ohren auf ihr Flehen.
16 But the face of the Lord is against them that doe euill, to cut off their remembrance from the earth.
Des Herrn Antlitz wendet sich den Übeltätern zu und tilgt ihr Angedenken von der Erde.
17 The righteous crie, and the Lord heareth them, and deliuereth them out of all their troubles.
Die Frommen schreien, und schon hört's der Herr und rettet sie aus aller Not.
18 The Lord is neere vnto them that are of a contrite heart, and will saue such as be afflicted in Spirite.
Der Herr ist nahe den zerknirschten Herzen; zerschlagenen Gemütern hilft er auf.
19 Great are the troubles of the righteous: but the Lord deliuereth him out of them all.
In viel Gefahren ist der Fromme; aus ihnen allen rettet ihn der Herr.
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Er hütet jedes seiner Glieder; versehrt wird auch nicht eins davon.
21 But malice shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous, shall perish.
Den Frevler rafft ein Unfall weg; des Frommen Hasser müssen es bereuen.
22 The Lord redeemeth the soules of his seruants: and none, that trust in him, shall perish.
Der Herr erlöst die Seele seiner Diener; wer auf ihn baut, bereut es nicht.
