Psalms 3
1 A Psalme of Dauid, when he fled from his sonne Absalom. Lord, howe are mine aduersaries increased? howe many rise against me?
[Ein Psalm von David, als er vor seinem Sohne Absalom floh.] Jehova! wie viele sind meiner Bedränger! Viele erheben sich wider mich;
2 Many say to my soule, There is no helpe for him in God. (Selah)
Viele sagen von meiner Seele: Es ist keine Rettung für ihn bei [W. in] Gott! (Sela) [Bedeutet wahrsch.: (Zwischenspiel) od. Verstärkung der begleitenden Musik]
3 But thou Lord art a buckler for me: my glory, and the lifter vp of mine head.
Du aber, Jehova, bist ein Schild um mich her, meine Herrlichkeit, [O. Ehre] und der mein Haupt emporhebt.
4 I did call vnto the Lord with my voyce, and he heard me out of his holy mountaine. (Selah)
Mit meiner Stimme rufe ich zu Jehova, und er antwortet mir von seinem heiligen Berge. (Sela)
5 I layed me downe and slept, and rose vp againe: for the Lord susteined me.
Ich legte mich nieder und schlief; ich erwachte, denn Jehova stützt mich.
6 I will not be afrayde for ten thousand of the people, that should beset me round about.
Nicht fürchte ich mich vor Zehntausenden des Volkes, die sich ringsum wider mich gesetzt haben.
7 O Lord, arise: helpe me, my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies vpon the cheeke bone: thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked.
Stehe auf, Jehova! rette mich, mein Gott! denn du hast alle meine Feinde auf den Backen geschlagen; die Zähne der Gesetzlosen hast du zerschmettert.
8 Saluation belongeth vnto the Lord, and thy blessing is vpon thy people. (Selah)
Von Jehova ist die Rettung; dein Segen ist auf deinem Volke. [O. komme auf dein Volk] (Sela)
