Psalms 145

1 A Psalme of David of Praise. O my God and King, I will extold thee, and will blesse thy Name for euer and euer.

Hymne de David. Je veux t’exalter, ô mon Dieu, ô Roi, bénir ton nom jusque dans l’éternité.

2 I will blesse thee dayly, and prayse thy Name for euer and euer.

Chaque jour je te bénirai, je célébrerai ton nom à jamais.

3 Great is the Lord, and most worthy to be praysed, and his greatnes is incomprehensible.

Grand est l’Eternel et justement glorifié, sa grandeur est sans bornes.

4 Generation shall praise thy works vnto generation, and declare thy power.

Une génération vante tes œuvres à l’autre, et proclame tes hauts faits.

5 I wil meditate of the beautie of thy glorious maiestie, and thy wonderfull workes,

La splendeur de ta glorieuse majesté, le détail de tes merveilles, voilà ce que je veux exposer.

6 And they shall speake of the power of thy fearefull actes, and I will declare thy greatnes.

Tous célèbrent la puissance de tes prodiges, et moi aussi je veux annoncer ta grandeur.

7 They shall breake out into the mention of thy great goodnes, and shall sing aloude of thy righteousnesse.

Ils ne tarissent pas sur la gloire de ta grande bonté, et ils chantent ta justice.

8 The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great mercie.

Clément et miséricordieux est l’Eternel, tardif à la colère et abondant en grâce.

9 The Lord is good to all, and his mercies are ouer all his workes.

L’Eternel est bon pour tous, sa pitié s’étend à toutes ses créatures.

10 All thy workes prayse thee, O Lord, and thy Saints blesse thee.

Toutes tes œuvres te louent, Seigneur; et tes fidèles adorateurs te bénissent.

11 They shewe the glory of thy kingdome, and speake of thy power,

Ils célèbrent l’honneur de ta royauté, et disent ta puissance,

12 To cause his power to be knowen to the sonnes of men, and the glorious renoume of his kingdome.

pour faire connaître aux fils de l’homme tes hauts faits et l’éclat glorieux de ton règne.

13 Thy kingdome is an euerlasting kingdome, and thy dominion endureth throughout all ages.

Ta royauté remplit toute l’éternité, et ta domination se prolonge d’âge en âge.

14 The Lord vpholdeth all that fall, and lifteth vp all that are ready to fall.

L’Eternel soutient tous ceux qui tombent, et redresse ceux qui sont courbés.

15 The eyes of all waite vpon thee, and thou giuest them their meate in due season.

Tous les yeux se tournent avec espoir vers toi, et, toi, tu leur donnes leur subsistance en temps voulu.

16 Thou openest thine hand, and fillest all things liuing of thy good pleasure.

Tu ouvres la main et rassasies avec bienveillance tout être vivant.

17 The Lord is righteous in all his wayes, and holy in all his workes.

L’Eternel est juste en toutes ses voies, et généreux en tous ses actes.

18 The Lord is neere vnto all that call vpon him: yea, to all that call vpon him in trueth.

L’Eternel est proche de tous ceux qui l’invoquent, de tous ceux qui l’appellent avec sincérité.

19 He wil fulfill the desire of them that feare him: he also wil heare their cry, and wil saue them.

Il accomplit les désirs de ses fidèles, entend leurs supplications et leur porte secours.

20 The Lord preserueth all them that loue him: but he will destroy all the wicked.

L’Eternel protège tous ceux qui l’aiment, mais il anéantit tous les impies.

21 My mouth shall speake the prayse of the Lord, and all flesh shall blesse his holy Name for euer and euer.

Que ma bouche dise les louanges de l’Eternel, et que toute créature bénisse son saint nom à jamais!
