Psalms 126

1 A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. When ye Lord brought againe the captiuitie of Zion, we were like them that dreame.

Wallfahrtslieder. Als Jahwe das Geschick Zions wendete, waren wir wie Träumende.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with ioye: then sayd they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

Da war unser Mund voll Lachens, und unsere Zunge voll Jubels; da sprach man unter den Heiden: “Jahwe hat Großes an diesen gethan!”

3 The Lord hath done great things for vs, whereof we reioyce.

Großes hatte Jahwe an uns gethan; wir waren fröhlich.

4 O Lord, bring againe our captiuitie, as the riuers in the South.

Wende, Jahwe, unser Geschick, gleich Rinnsalen im Südland.

5 They that sowe in teares, shall reape in ioy.

Die unter Thränen säeten, werden mit Jubel ernten.

6 They went weeping and caried precious seede: but they shall returne with ioye and bring their sheaues.

Unter beständigem Weinen geht man dahin und trägt den Samen zur Aussaat; mit Jubel kehrt man heim und trägt seine Garben!
