< Psalms 123 >

1 A song of degrees. I lift vp mine eyes to thee, that dwellest in the heauens.
Ko e Hiva ʻae ʻalu hake. ‌ʻOku ou hanga hake hoku mata ki hoʻo ʻafio, ʻa koe ʻoku ke ʻafio ʻi he ngaahi langi.
2 Behold, as the eyes of seruants looke vnto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a mayden vnto the hand of her mistres: so our eyes waite vpon the Lord our God vntil he haue mercie vpon vs.
Vakai, ʻoku hangē ko e sio ʻae mata ʻoe kau tamaioʻeiki ki he nima ʻo ʻenau ngaahi ʻeiki, pea hangē ko e mata ʻo ha kaunanga ki he nima ʻo ʻene ʻeiki fefine; ʻoku tatali pehē ʻa homau mata kia Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, kaeʻoua ke ne ʻaloʻofa mai kiate kimautolu.
3 Haue mercie vpon vs, O Lord, haue mercie vpon vs: for we haue suffered too much contempt.
‌ʻE Sihova, ke ke ʻaloʻofa mai kiate kimautolu, ke ke ʻaloʻofa mai kiate kimautolu: he kuo mau fonu ʻaupito ʻi he manukia.
4 Our soule is filled too full of ye mocking of the wealthy, and of the despitefulnes of the proude.
‌ʻOku fonu ʻaupito homau laumālie ʻi he manuki ʻanautolu ʻoku anga fakafiemālie, pea mo e fehiʻa ʻae fielahi.
