Psalms 111

1 Praise ye the Lord. I will prayse the Lord with my whole heart in the assemblie and Congregation of the iust.

[Die Anfangsbuchstaben einer jeden Vershälfte dieses Psalmes folgen im Hebr. der alphabetischen Ordnung] N [Lobet Jehova! [Hallelujah!] ] Preisen will ich Jehova von ganzem Herzen im Kreise [Dasselbe Wort wie Ps. 89,7] der Aufrichtigen [O. Rechtschaffenen; so auch Ps. 112,2. 4] und in der Gemeinde.

2 The workes of the Lord are great, and ought to be sought out of al them that loue them.

Groß sind die Taten Jehovas, sie werden erforscht von allen, die Lust an ihnen haben.

3 His worke is beautifull and glorious, and his righteousnesse endureth for euer.

Majestät und Pracht ist sein Tun; und seine Gerechtigkeit besteht ewiglich.

4 He hath made his wonderfull workes to be had in remembrance: the Lord is mercifull and full of compassion.

Er hat ein Gedächtnis gestiftet seinen Wundertaten; gnädig und barmherzig ist Jehova.

5 He hath giuen a portion vnto them that feare him: he wil euer be mindfull of his couenant.

Er hat Speise gegeben denen, die ihn fürchten; er gedenkt in Ewigkeit seines Bundes.

6 He hath shewed to his people the power of his workes in giuing vnto them the heritage of the heathen.

Er hat seinem Volke kundgemacht die Kraft seiner Taten, um ihnen zu geben [O. indem er ihnen gab] das Erbteil der Nationen.

7 The workes of his handes are trueth and iudgement: all his statutes are true.

Die Taten seiner Hände sind Wahrheit und Recht; zuverlässig sind alle seine Vorschriften,

8 They are stablished for euer and euer, and are done in trueth and equitie.

Festgestellt auf immer, auf ewig, ausgeführt in Wahrheit und Geradheit.

9 He sent redemption vnto his people: he hath commanded his couenant for euer: holy and fearefull is his Name.

Er hat Erlösung gesandt seinem Volke, seinen Bund verordnet auf ewig; heilig und furchtbar ist sein Name.

10 The beginning of wisedome is the feare of the Lord: all they that obserue them, haue good vnderstanding: his praise endureth for euer.

Die Furcht Jehovas ist der Weisheit Anfang; gute Einsicht haben alle, die sie [d. h. die Vorschriften v 7] ausüben. Sein Lob [O. Ruhm] besteht ewiglich.
