Psalms 106
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord because he is good, for his mercie endureth for euer.
Hallelú Yah. Celebrad a Yahvé porque es bueno, porque su misericordia es para siempre.
2 Who can expresse the noble actes of the Lord, or shewe forth all his prayse?
¿Quién dirá las hazañas de Yahvé? ¿Pregonará todas sus alabanzas?
3 Blessed are they that keepe iudgement, and doe righteousnesse at all times.
Bienaventurados los que conservan sus estatutos y practican la justicia en todo tiempo.
4 Remember me, O Lord, with the fauour of thy people: visite me with thy saluation,
Señor, acuérdate de mí cuando muestres tu bondad para con tu pueblo; visítame cuando operes la salvación
5 That I may see the felicitie of thy chosen, and reioyce in the ioy of thy people, and glorie with thine inheritance.
para que yo vea la felicidad de tus escogidos, me goce del gozo de tu pueblo y me gloríe con tu herencia.
6 We haue sinned with our fathers: we haue committed iniquitie, and done wickedly.
Hemos pecado lo mismo que nuestros padres; obramos el mal, fuimos impíos.
7 Our fathers vnderstoode not thy wonders in Egypt, neither remembred they the multitude of thy mercies, but rebelled at the Sea, euen at the red sea.
Nuestros padres en Egipto no tuvieron en cuenta tus prodigios; no se acordaron de la multitud de tus favores, sino que se rebelaron contra el Altísimo junto al Mar Rojo.
8 Neuerthelesse he saued them for his Names sake, that he might make his power to be knowen.
Pero Él los salvó a causa de su Nombre, para dar a conocer su poderío.
9 And he rebuked the red Sea, and it was dryed vp, and he led them in the deepe, as in the wildernesse.
Increpó al Mar Rojo y lo secó, y los condujo por entre las aguas como por un llano.
10 And he saued them from ye aduersaries hand, and deliuered them from ye hand of the enemie.
Los sacó de las manos de sus aborrecedores, y los rescató del poder del enemigo.
11 And the waters couered their oppressours: not one of them was left.
Las aguas cubrieron a sus adversarios, no quedó ni uno de ellos.
12 Then beleeued they his wordes, and sang prayse vnto him.
Entonces creyeron a Sus palabras y cantaron Sus alabanzas.
13 But incontinently they forgate his workes: they wayted not for his counsell,
Pronto olvidaron las obras de Él, no aguardaron sus designios,
14 But lusted with concupiscence in the wildernes, and tempted God in the desert.
sino que en el desierto se entregaron a su propia concupiscencia y en la soledad provocaron a Dios.
15 Then he gaue them their desire: but he sent leannesse into their soule.
Él les concedió lo que pedían, pero les envió la consunción.
16 They enuied Moses also in the tentes, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
Luego envidiaron a Moisés en el campamento, y a Aarón, el santo de Yahvé.
17 Therefore the earth opened and swallowed vp Dathan, and couered the companie of Abiram.
Y la tierra se abrió, y se tragó a Datan, y cubrió a la facción de Abirón.
18 And the fire was kindled in their assembly: the flame burnt vp the wicked.
Y se encendió contra su banda un fuego; la llama devoró a los inicuos.
19 They made a calfe in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
Hicieron un becerro en Horeb, y adoraron una estatua de fundición;
20 Thus they turned their glory into the similitude of a bullocke, that eateth grasse.
trocando su Gloria por la figura del buey harto de heno,
21 They forgate God their Sauiour, which had done great things in Egypt,
olvidaron a Dios, que los había salvado y que había hecho portentos en Egipto,
22 Wonderous woorkes in the lande of Ham, and fearefull things by the red Sea.
cosas maravillosas en la tierra de Cam, cosas estupendas junto al Mar Rojo.
23 Therefore he minded to destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stand in the breach before him to turne away his wrath, least he shoulde destroy them.
Los habría deshecho, si Moisés, escogido por Él, no se hubiese puesto en la brecha frente a Él, para apartar su furor a fin de que no los exterminase.
24 Also they contemned that pleasant land, and beleeued not his worde,
Y despreciaron la tierra codiciable, no dando crédito a su palabra;
25 But murmured in their tentes, and hearkened not vnto the voice of the Lord.
y murmuraron en sus tiendas, no escucharon la voz de Yahvé.
26 Therefore hee lifted vp his hande against them, to destroy them in the wildernesse,
Mas Él con mano alzada les juró que los haría caer en el desierto;
27 And to destroy their seede among the nations, and to scatter them throughout the countries.
que haría caer a su descendencia entre los gentiles y los dispersaría por las tierras.
28 They ioyned themselues also vnto Baalpeor, and did eate the offrings of the dead.
Y se consagraron a Baalfegor, y comieron de las víctimas inmoladas a dioses muertos.
29 Thus they prouoked him vnto anger with their owne inuentions, and the plague brake in vpon them.
Con tales delitos le provocaron a ira, y una plaga cayó sobre ellos.
30 But Phinehas stoode vp, and executed iudgement, and the plague was staied.
Pero se irguió Fineés, y ejerció la venganza, y la plaga cesó.
31 And it was imputed vnto him for righteousnes from generation to generation for euer.
Y esto le fue imputado a justicia por todas sus generaciones para siempre jamás.
32 They angred him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was punished for their sakes,
Y lo irritaron juntó a las aguas de Meribá; y a Moisés le fue mal por culpa de ellos;
33 Because they vexed his spirite, so that hee spake vnaduisedly with his lippes.
porque ellos exacerbaron su espíritu, y él dejó que sus labios hablaran inconsideradamente.
34 Neither destroied they the people, as the Lord had commanded them,
No destruyeron los pueblos que Dios les había señalado;
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their workes,
sino que se mezclaron con los gentiles, y aprendieron sus obras,
36 And serued their idoles, which were their ruine.
y adoraron sus ídolos, que fueron para ellos un lazo;
37 Yea, they offered their sonnes, and their daughters vnto deuils,
e inmolaron sus hijos y sus hijas a los demonios,
38 And shed innocent blood, euen the blood of their sonnes, and of their daughters, whome they offred vnto the idoles of Canaan, and the lande was defiled with blood.
derramando sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, que sacrificaron a los ídolos de Canaán; y la tierra quedó profanada por la sangre.
39 Thus were they steined with their owne woorkes, and went a whoring with their owne inuentions.
Se contaminaron por sus actos y fornicaron con sus propias obras.
40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he abhorred his owne inheritance.
Se encendió entonces la ira de Yahvé contra su pueblo, y abominó de su herencia;
41 And hee gaue them into the hande of the heathen: and they that hated them, were lordes ouer them.
los entregó en manos de los gentiles, y fueron dominados por quienes los odiaban.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were humbled vnder their hand.
Oprimidos por sus enemigos, tuvieron que doblegarse ante ellos.
43 Many a time did hee deliuer them, but they prouoked him by their counsels: therefore they were brought downe by their iniquitie.
Muchas veces Él los salvó, mas ellos lo exasperaron por sus empeños, y se hundieron más en su iniquidad.
44 Yet hee sawe when they were in affliction, and he heard their crie.
Con todo, al percibir sus lamentos, fijaba Él los ojos en sus tribulaciones;
45 And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,
en favor de ellos se acordaba de su alianza, y se arrepentía según la grandeza de su misericordia.
46 And gaue them fauour in the sight of all them that lead them captiues.
Y los hacía objeto de la compasión de aquellos que los tenían en cautiverio.
47 Saue vs, O Lord our God, and gather vs from among the heathen, that we may praise thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise.
Sálvanos, Yahvé, Dios nuestro, y congréganos de en medio de las naciones, para que celebremos tu santo Nombre y nos gloriemos en tu alabanza.
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer, and let all the people say, So be it. Praise yee the Lord.
Bendito sea Yahvé, Dios de Israel, de siglo en siglo. Y todo el pueblo diga: Amén. ¡Hallelú Yah!
