< Proverbs 1 >

1 The Parables of Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel,
Hiche hi Israel leng David chapa Solomon thuchih ho ahi.
2 To knowe wisdome, and instruction, to vnderstand ye wordes of knowledge,
Hiche hi mihemten chihna le kigah chahna, thuchih kiseiho hi ipi kiseina ham, ti ahetdoh theina diu ahi.
3 To receiue instruction to do wisely, by iustice and iudgement and equitie,
Chule ahoi-apha adihlam’a kihilna kisan them’a adih le thudih agom’a kisanlut ding,
4 To giue vnto the simple, sharpenesse of wit, and to the childe knowledge and discretion.
Chuteng milham ho dinga lunglim-geh’a hinna, chule khangdong hon hetna le thil detkhen themna anei diu ahi.
5 A wise man shall heare and increase in learning, and a man of vnderstanding shall attayne vnto wise counsels,
Miching jeng jong khodah’a thepna alambe ding, hetkhenna nei mihem in jong kihilchahna alambe ding ahi.
6 To vnderstand a parable, and the interpretation, the wordes of ye wise, and their darke sayings.
Hiche thuchih kiseiho le thil umdan hetthemna anei ding, miching hon thu asei teng, thulem aseidoh jouseu hettheina tha anei ding ahi.
7 The feare of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fooles despise wisedome and instruction.
Pakai ginna hi hetna dinga abulpi ahin, mingol hon vang chihna le hilchah nan asang thei poi.
8 My sonne, heare thy fathers instruction, and forsake not thy mothers teaching.
Kachapa, napan nahilna ngaijin lang, nanun nahilna jong sang teijin,
9 For they shalbe a comely ornament vnto thine head, and as chaines for thy necke.
Ijeh inem itileh, amanin nahilna jouse khotona lallukhuh’a nakikhuh ding, chule jana na ngong changa khivui oa naki’o ding ahi.
10 My sonne, if sinners doe intise thee, consent thou not.
Kachapa michonseten jol lhah ding nago jong leu, athu’u nangai lou hel ding ahi.
11 If they say, Come with vs, we will lay waite for blood, and lie priuilie for the innocent without a cause:
Amahon na henga ahin seidiu, “Hung’in cheu hitin mihem thadin ngah-ute; suhkhel neilou ho jong chu inop chabep uva ibol diuvin nga lhih tauhite.
12 We wil swallow them vp aliue like a graue euen whole, as those that goe downe into the pit: (Sheol h7585)
Ahing changa lhankhuh in aval lhum’a abah gam bang in, eihon jong ahing in bahgam-u hitin, thina kokhuh’a lhalutsa bang in, apum chang in val lhum gam tauhite. (Sheol h7585)
13 We shall finde all precious riches, and fill our houses with spoyle:
Chuteng thil thupi tahtah imu diu, mi thil lelo ichomdoh hou chu in dimset’a isit diu ahi.
14 Cast in thy lot among vs: we will all haue one purse:
Keiho kom’a chan hung neijin lang, sumdip kikhong in sum khol khom u-hite, tia ahinsei diu ahi.”
15 My sonne, walke not thou in the way with them: refraine thy foote from their path.
Hinlah kachapa, amaho toh kilhon khom hih hel’in, amaho lam lhahna akon chun kidalse jon,
16 For their feete runne to euill, and make haste to shed blood.
Ajeh chu amaho thilpha lou bolnan akeng-u ajangkhai in, gangtah in thisan aso jiuve.
17 Certainely as without cause the net is spred before the eyes of all that hath wing:
Hijeh chun vachan ao nading thang kikam amu teng, pannabei asoh jitai.
18 So they lay waite for blood and lie priuily for their liues.
Hitobang miho hin ama hole amaho thisan sodohna dinga midang achan lhih jiu ahin, amaho thina ding jenga bou mi achan jiu ahi.
19 Such are the wayes of euery one that is greedy of gaine: he would take away the life of the owners thereof.
Koi hileh hitobang pumtho changa ama phatchomna ding ngaito bang bep ahiuvin, thil lelo neipa ahivang in thina atoh jitan ahi.
20 Wisdome cryeth without: she vttereth her voyce in the streetes.
Chihna hin lamlen lah’a kho asamjin, japi lah jenga jong ogin kithong tah’in apeng jin ahi.
21 She calleth in the hye streete, among the prease in the entrings of the gates, and vttereth her wordes in the citie, saying,
Chihna hi lamlen dunga jong apeng jah jeng in, khopi kelkot mai’a jong thu aphong doh jin ahi.
22 O ye foolish, howe long will ye loue foolishnes? and the scornefull take their pleasure in scorning, and the fooles hate knowledge?
“Vo mihemte, itih chanpi mihem mei meiya hin ding nagot u-ham, anop nop’a paohon itih chanpi michunga nanop pao diu ham? Angol hon itih chanpi hetna nathet diu hitam?
23 (Turne you at my correction: loe, I will powre out my mind vnto you, and make you vnderstand my wordes)
Kathumop nahi ngai phau vin, ajeh chu keiman nangho dinga kalunggel ngaito kasei ding, chuteng kathuseija kon chihna nalam doh diu ahi.
24 Because I haue called, and ye refused: I haue stretched out mine hand, and none woulde regarde.
Ijeh inem itileh keiman nang ho kakou un, nang hon nei donbut deh pouve. Kakhut ban in kahin sang uvin, iman jong nagel deh pouvin ahi.
25 But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction.
Kahilna abonchan nadonse pouvin, kagihsal na jouse jong khatcha nadonse pouvin ahi.
26 I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth.
Hijeh chun hahsatna dinmun nalhun teng uleh kanuisat diu, manthah nan nalhun den tengu jong leh kanuisat ding nahiuve.
27 Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you,
Huipi hattah banga manthahnan nahin lhun khum diu, chimpei banga hahsatna nahin todiu, chule gim le hesoh hoise tah in nalhun dendiu hijongleh ka khohsah louhel ding nahi tauve.
28 Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me,
Hinlah amahon panpi ngaija eihin kou-diu, keiman kadonbut dehlou diu, gil tah’a eihol jing diu, ahin eihol doh jou deh lou diu ahi.
29 Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord.
Ajeh chu amahon hetna athet uvin, Pakai gin ding jong alheng deh pouvin ahi.
30 They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction.
Amahon kahilna asang pouvin, kagih salna jouse jong pannabei aso tauvin ahi.
31 Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises.
Chule amahon anop chabep uva atoh-gau aneh diu, thilpha lou angaito jouseu thao twi banga jol lha diu ahi.
32 For ease slaieth the foolish, and the prosperitie of fooles destroyeth them.
Ajeh chu amahon lamdih jot louvin, milham ho chunga thina alhung lo jitan, lungthim beiho kiletsahna chu amaho manthahna asoh jin ahi.
33 But he that obeyeth me, shall dwell safely, and be quiet from feare of euill.
Koi hileh kasei phatah’a ngaija chun lungmonna anei ding, gin ding neiloua lungmong sel’a cheng jing ding ahi.”
