Proverbs 3
1 My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.
Min son, förgät icke min lag, och ditt hjerta behålle min bud;
2 For they shall increase the length of thy dayes and the yeeres of life, and thy prosperitie.
Ty de skola skaffa dig långt lif, och god år, och frid.
3 Let not mercie and trueth forsake thee: binde them on thy necke, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
Nåd och trohet skola icke förlåta dig. Häng dem på din hals, och skrif dem uti dins hjertas taflo;
4 So shalt thou finde fauour and good vnderstanding in the sight of God and man.
Så skall du finna ynnest och klokhet, den Gudi och menniskom täck är.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and leane not vnto thine owne wisdome.
Förlåt dig på Herran af allt hjerta, och förlåt dig icke uppå ditt förstånd;
6 In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy wayes.
Utan tänk uppå honom i allom dinom vägom, så skall han föra dig rätt.
7 Be not wise in thine owne eyes: but feare the Lord, and depart from euill.
Låt dig icke tycka att du äst vis, utan frukta Herran, och vik ifrå det ondt är.
8 So health shalbe vnto thy nauel, and marowe vnto thy bones.
Det skall vara dinom nafla helsosamt, och vederqvicka din ben.
9 Honour the Lord with thy riches, and with the first fruites of all thine increase.
Hedra Herran af dina ägodelar, och af all dins årsväxts förstling;
10 So shall thy barnes be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall burst with newe wine.
Så skola dina lador fulla varda, och dine presser med must öfverflyta.
11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
Min son, förkasta icke Herrans tuktan, och var icke otålig, då han straffar;
12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
Ty hvilken Herren älskar, honom straffar han, och hafver ett behag till honom, såsom en fader till sonen.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
Säll är den menniska, som vishet finner, och den menniska, hvilko förstånd tillflyter.
14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
Ty det är bättre hafva henne än silfver, och hennes frukt bättre än guld.
15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
Hon är ädlare än perlor, och allt det du önska må, är henne icke likt.
16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
Långt lif är på hennes högra hand, på hennes venstra är rikedom och ära.
17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
Hennes vägar äro lustige vägar, och alle hennes stigar äro frid.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
Hon är lifsens trä allom dem som fatta henne; och salige äro de som hålla henne;
19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
Ty Herren hafver grundat jordena genom vishet, och genom sitt råd tillredt himmelen.
20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
Genom hans ord äro djupen åtskild, och skyarna med dagg drypande vordne.
21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
Min son, låt henne icke ifrå din ögon vika, så skall du lyckosam och klok varda.
22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
Det skall vara dine själs lif, och din mun skall täck vara.
23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
Då skall du på dinom väg säker vandra, att din fot icke stöter sig.
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
Lägger du dig, så skall du intet frukta dig, utan sofva sötliga;
25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
Att du icke betorf frukta dig för hastig förskräckelse, eller för de ogudaktigas storm, då han kommer.
26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
Ty Herren är din tröst; han bevarar din fot, att han icke fången varder.
27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
Neka dig icke att göra dem torftiga godt, om din hand af Gudi hafver magt sådant göra.
28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
Säg icke till din vän: Gack bort, och kom igen, i morgon vill jag gifva dig; der du dock det nu hafver.
29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
Far icke efter att göra dinom vän ondt, den uppå god tro när dig bor.
30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.
Kifva med ingom utan sak, om han dig intet ondt gjort hafver.
31 Bee not enuious for the wicked man, neither chuse any of his wayes.
Följ icke en vrång man efter, och utvälj ingen af hans vägar;
32 For the frowarde is abomination vnto the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
Ty Herren stygges vid den affälliga, och hans hemlighet är när de fromma.
33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
Uti dens ogudaktigas hus är Herrans förbannelse; men dens rättfärdigas hus varder välsignadt.
34 With the scornefull he scorneth, but hee giueth grace vnto the humble.
Han skall bespotta de bespottare; men dem eländom skall han nåd gifva.
35 The wise shall inherite glorie: but fooles dishonour, though they be exalted.
De vise skola ärfva äro; men om de galne än högt uppkomma, varda de likväl till skam.
