Proverbs 28
1 The wicked flee when none pursueth: but the righteous are bolde as a lyon.
१जेव्हा कोणीएक पाठलाग करत नसले तरी दुर्जन दूर पळतात, पण नीतिमान सिंहासारखे निर्भय राहतात.
2 For the transgression of the land there are many princes thereof: but by a man of vnderstanding and knowledge a realme likewise endureth long.
२देशाच्या अपराधांमुळे त्याचे पुष्कळ अधिपती होतात; पण जेव्हा समंजस आणि सुज्ञानी माणसाच्या हातून त्यांची सुस्थिती दीर्घकाळ राहते.
3 A poore man, if he oppresse the poore, is like a raging raine, that leaueth no foode.
३जो राज्य करणारा पुरुष गरिबांना जाचतो, तो काहीहीअन्न न ठेवणाऱ्या पावसासारखा आहे.
4 They that forsake the Law, prayse the wicked: but they that keepe the Law, set themselues against them.
४जे कोणी नियम मोडणारे ते दुर्जनांची स्तुती करतात, पण जे नियम पाळतात ते त्यांच्याविरुद्ध लढतात.
5 Wicked men vnderstand not iudgemnt: but they that seeke the Lord vnderstand all things.
५दुष्ट मनुष्यांना न्याय समजत नाही, पण जे परमेश्वरास शोधतात त्यांना सर्वकाही कळते.
6 Better is the poore that walketh in his vprightnesse, then hee that peruerteth his wayes, though he be riche.
६श्रीमंत पुरुष असून त्याचे मार्ग वाकडे असण्यापेक्षा, गरीब पुरुष असून जो त्याच्या प्रामाणिकपणात चालतो तो उत्तम आहे.
7 He that keepeth the Law, is a childe of vnderstanding: but hee that feedeth the gluttons, shameth his father.
७जो कोणी मुलगा नियमाचे पालन करतो तो हुशार असतो, पण जो खादाडाचा सोबती आहे तो आपल्या वडिलांना लाज आणतो.
8 He that increaseth his riches by vsurie and interest, gathereth them for him that will be mercifull vnto the poore.
८जो कोणी आपले धन खूप जास्त व्याज लावून वाढवतो त्याची संपत्ती जो कोणी गरिबांवर दया करतो त्या दुसऱ्यासाठी साठवतो.
9 He that turneth away his eare from hearing the Law, euen his prayer shalbe abominable.
९जर एखाद्याने आपला कान नियम ऐकण्यापासून दूर फिरवला, त्याची प्रार्थनासुद्धा वीट आणणारी होईल.
10 He that causeth the righteous to go astray by an euill way, shall fall into his owne pit, and the vpright shall inherite good things.
१०जो कोणी सरळांना बहकावून वाईट मार्गाकडे नेईल, तो आपल्या स्वतःच्या खड्ड्यात पडेल, पण जे निर्दोष आहेत त्यांना चांगले वतन मिळेल.
11 The riche man is wise in his owne conceite: but the poore that hath vnderstanding, can trie him.
११श्रीमंत मनुष्य आपल्या स्वतःच्या दृष्टीने शहाणा असतो, पण गरीब मनुष्य ज्याला समंजसपणा आहे त्यास शोधून काढतो.
12 When righteous men reioyce, there is great glory: but when the wicked come vp, the man is tried.
१२नीतिमानांचा विजय होतो तेव्हा तेथे मोठा नावलौकिक होतो, पण जेव्हा दुर्जन उठला, म्हणजे लोक स्वतः लपून बसतात.
13 He that hideth his sinnes, shall not prosper: but he that confesseth, and forsaketh them, shall haue mercy.
१३एखाद्याने आपले पाप लपवले तर त्याची उन्नती होत नाही, पण एखाद्याने त्याच्या पापांची कबुली दिली आणि ते सोडून दिले तर त्याच्यावर दया दाखवण्यात येईल.
14 Blessed is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart, shall fall into euill.
१४जर एखादा व्यक्ती वाईट करण्यात नेहमी घाबरतो तो सुखी आहे, पण जो कोणी आपले हृदय कठोर करतो तो संकटात पडतो.
15 As a roaring lyon, and an hungry beare, so is a wicked ruler ouer the poore people.
१५गरीब लोकांवर राज्य करणारा दुष्ट अधिकारी, गर्जणाऱ्या सिंहासारखा किंवा हल्ला करणाऱ्या अस्वलासारखा आहे.
16 A prince destitute of vnderstanding, is also a great oppressour: but hee that hateth couetousnes, shall prolong his dayes.
१६जो कोणी अधिकारी ज्ञानहीन असतो तो क्रूर जुलूम करणारा आहे, पण जो अप्रामाणिकपणाचा द्वेष करतो तो दिर्घायुषी होतो.
17 A man that doeth violence against the blood of a person, shall flee vnto the graue, and they shall not stay him.
१७जर एखादा मनुष्य रक्तपाताचा अपराधी आहे तर तो शवगर्तेत आश्रय शोधेल, पण त्यास कोणीही परत आणणार नाही. आणि त्यास कोणीही मदत करणार नाही.
18 He that walketh vprightly, shalbe saued: but he that is froward in his wayes, shall once fall.
१८जो सरळ मार्गाने चालतो तो सुरक्षित राहतो, पण ज्याचे मार्ग वाकडे आहेत तो अचानक पडतो.
19 He that tilleth his land, shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth the idle, shall be filled with pouertie.
१९जो कोणी आपली शेती स्वतः करतो त्यास विपुल अन्न मिळते, पण जो कोणी निरर्थक गोष्टींचा पाठलाग करतो त्यास विपुल दारिद्र्य येते.
20 A faythfull man shall abound in blessings, and he that maketh haste to be riche, shall not be innocent.
२०विश्वासू मनुष्यास महान आशीर्वाद मिळतात, पण जो कोणी झटपट श्रीमंत होण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो त्यास शिक्षा झाल्यावाचून राहणार नाही.
21 To haue respect of persons is not good: for that man will transgresse for a piece of bread.
२१पक्षपात दाखवणे हे चांगले नाही, तरी भाकरीच्या तुकड्यासाठी मनुष्य चुकीचे करील.
22 A man with a wicked eye hasteth to riches, and knoweth not, that pouertie shall come vpon him.
२२कंजूस मनुष्य श्रीमंत होण्याची घाई करतो, पण आपणावर दारिद्र्य येईल हे त्यास कळत नाही.
23 He that rebuketh a man, shall finde more fauour at length, then he that flattereth with his tongue.
२३जो कोणी आपल्या जिभेने खोटी स्तुती करतो; त्याऐवजी जो कोणी धिक्कारतो त्यालाच नंतर अधिक अनुग्रह मिळेल.
24 Hee that robbeth his father and mother, and sayth, It is no transgression, is the companion of a man that destroyeth.
२४जो कोणी आपल्या आई वडिलांना लुटतो आणि म्हणतो “ह्यात काही पाप नाही,” पण जो कोणी नाश करतो त्याचा तो सोबती आहे.
25 He that is of a proude heart, stirreth vp strife: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be fatte.
२५लोभी मनुष्य संकटे निर्माण करतो, पण जो परमेश्वरावर विश्वास ठेवतो त्याची भरभराट होते.
26 Hee that trusteth in his owne heart, is a foole: but he that walketh in wisdome, shall be deliuered.
२६जो कोणी आपल्या हृदयावर भरवसा ठेवतो तो मूर्ख आहे, पण जो कोणी ज्ञानात चालतो तो धोक्यापासून दूर राहतो.
27 He that giueth vnto the poore, shall not lacke: but he that hideth his eyes, shall haue many curses.
२७जो कोणी गरीबाला देतो त्यास कशाचीही उणीव पडणार नाही, पण जो कोणी त्यांना पाहूनदेखील न पाहिल्यासारखे करतो त्याच्यावर खूप शाप येतील.
28 When the wicked rise vp, men hide them selues: but when they perish, ye righteous increase.
२८जेव्हा दुष्ट उठतात, माणसे स्वतःला लपवतात, पण जेव्हा दुष्ट नष्ट होतात तेव्हा नीतिमान वाढतात.
