Proverbs 15
1 A soft answere putteth away wrath: but grieuous wordes stirre vp anger.
Ett mjukt svar stillar vrede; men ett hårdt ord kommer harm åstad.
2 The tongue of the wise vseth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fooles babbleth out foolishnesse.
De visas tunga gör lärdomen ljuflig; de dårars mun utsputar alltid galenskap.
3 The eyes of the Lord in euery place beholde the euill and the good.
Herrans ögon skåda i all rum, både onda och goda.
4 A wholesome tongue is as a tree of life: but the frowardnes therof is the breaking of ye minde.
En helsosam tunga är lifsens trä; men en lögnaktig gör hjertans sorg.
5 A foole despiseth his fathers instruction: but he that regardeth correction, is prudent.
En dåre lastar sins faders tuktan; men den som tager vid straff, han varder klok.
6 The house of the righteous hath much treasure: but in the reuenues of the wicked is trouble.
Uti dens rättfärdigas hus äro ägodelar nog; men uti dens ogudaktigas tilldrägt är förderf.
7 The lippes of the wise doe spread abroade knowledge: but ye heart of the foolish doth not so.
De visas mun utströr god råd; men de dårars hjerta är icke så.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable vnto him.
Dens ogudaktigas offer är Herranom en styggelse; men de frommas bön är honom behagelig.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination vnto the Lord: but he loueth him that followeth righteousnes.
Dens ogudaktigas väg är Herranom en styggelse; men den der far efter rättfärdighet, han varder älskad.
10 Instruction is euill to him that forsaketh the way, and he that hateth correction, shall die.
Det är en ond tuktan, öfvergifva vägen; och den der straff hatar, han måste dö.
11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the sonnes of men? (Sheol h7585)
Helvete och förderf är för Herranom; huru mycket mer menniskornas hjerta? (Sheol h7585)
12 A scorner loueth not him that rebuketh him, neither will he goe vnto the wise.
En bespottare älskar icke den honom straffar, och går icke till den visa.
13 A ioyfull heart maketh a chearefull countenance: but by the sorow of the heart the minde is heauie.
Ett gladt hjerta gör ett blidt ansigte; men när hjertat bekymradt är, så faller ock modet.
14 The heart of him that hath vnderstanding, seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of the foole is fedde with foolishnes.
Ett klokt hjerta handlar visliga; men de öfverdådige dårar regera dårliga.
15 All the dayes of the afflicted are euill: but a good conscience is a continuall feast.
En bedröfvad menniska hafver aldrig en god dag; men ett godt mod är ett dageligit gästabåd.
16 Better is a litle with the feare of the Lord, then great treasure, and trouble therewith.
Bättre är något lite med Herrans fruktan, än en stor skatt med oro.
17 Better is a dinner of greene herbes where loue is, then a stalled oxe and hatred therewith.
Bättre är en rätt kål med kärlek, än en gödd oxe med hat.
18 An angrie man stirreth vp strife: but hee that is slowe to wrath, appeaseth strife.
En sticken man kommer träto åstad; men en tålig man stillar kif.
19 The way of a slouthfull man is as an hedge of thornes: but the way of the righteous is plaine.
Dens latas väg är full med törne; men de frommas väg är väl slät.
20 A wise sonne reioyceth the father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
En vis son fröjdar fadren, och en galen menniska skämmer sina moder.
21 Foolishnes is ioy to him that is destitute of vnderstanding: but a man of vnderstanding walketh vprightly.
Enom dåra är galenskapen en glädje; men en förståndig man blifver på rätta vägenom.
22 Without cousel thoughts come to nought: but in the multitude of counsellers there is stedfastnesse.
De anslag varda till intet, der icke råd är med; men der månge rådgifvare äro, blifva de beståndande.
23 A ioy commeth to a man by the answere of his mouth: and how good is a word in due season?
Det är enom glädje, att man honom skäliga svarar, och ett ord i sinom tid är ganska täckeligit.
Lifsens väg leder den visa uppåt, på det han skall undvika helvetet, som nedatill är. (Sheol h7585)
25 The Lord will destroye the house of the proude men: but hee will stablish the borders of the widowe.
Herren skall nederslå de högfärdigas hus, och stadfästa enkones gränso.
26 The thoughts of ye wicked are abomination to the Lord: but the pure haue pleasant wordes.
De argas anslog äro Herranom en styggelse; men ett skäligit tal är täckt.
27 He that is greedie of gaine, troubleth his owne house: but he that hateth giftes, shall liue.
Men girige förstörer sitt eget hus; men den som mutor hatar, han skall lefva.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answere: but the wicked mans mouth babbleth euil thinges.
Dens rättfärdigas hjerta betänker, hvad svaras skall; men de ogudaktigas mun utöser ondt.
29 The Lord is farre off from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Herren är långt ifrå de ogudaktiga; men de rättfärdigas bön hörer han.
30 The light of the eyes reioyceth the heart, and a good name maketh the bones fat.
Ett blidt ansigte gläder hjertat; ett godt ryckte gör benen fet.
31 The eare that hearkeneth to the correction of life, shall lodge among the wise.
Det öra, som hörer lifsens straff, det skall bo ibland de visa.
32 Hee that refuseth instruction, despiseth his owne soule: but he that obeyeth correction, getteth vnderstanding.
Den som icke låter sig aga, han gör sig sjelf till intet; men den som straff hörer han varder klok.
33 The feare of the Lord is the instruction of wisdome: and before honour, goeth humilitie.
Herrans fruktan är en tuktan till vishet, och förr än man till äro kommer, måste man lida.
