Proverbs 10
1 THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.
Dies sind die Sprüche Salomos. Ein weiser Sohn ist seines Vaters Freude; aber ein törichter Sohn ist seiner Mutter Grämen.
2 The treasures of wickednesse profite nothing: but righteousnesse deliuereth from death.
Unrecht Gut hilft nicht; aber Gerechtigkeit errettet vom Tode.
3 The Lord will not famish the soule of the righteous: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
Der HERR läßt die Seele des Gerechten nicht Hunger leiden; er stürzt aber der Gottlosen Schinderei.
4 A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
Lässige Hand macht arm; aber der Fleißigen Hand macht reich.
5 He that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
Wer im Sommer sammelt, der ist klug; wer aber in der Ernte schläft, wird zuschanden.
6 Blessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
Den Segen hat das Haupt des Gerechten; aber den Mund der Gottlosen wird ihr Frevel überfallen.
7 The memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
Das Gedächtnis der Gerechten bleibt im Segen; aber der Gottlosen Name wird verwesen.
8 The wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
Wer weise von Herzen ist, nimmt die Gebote an; der aber ein Narrenmaul hat, wird geschlagen.
9 He that walketh vprightly, walketh boldely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.
Wer unschuldig lebet, der lebet sicher; wer aber verkehrt ist auf seinen Wegen, wird offenbar werden.
10 He that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
Wer mit Augen winket, wird Mühe anrichten; und der ein Narrenmaul hat, wird geschlagen.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
Des Gerechten Mund ist ein lebendiger Brunn; aber den Mund der Gottlosen wird ihr Frevel überfallen.
12 Hatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
Haß erreget Hader; aber Liebe deckt zu alle Übertretungen.
13 In the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
In den Lippen des Verständigen findet man Weisheit; aber auf den Rücken des Narren gehört eine Rute.
14 Wise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
Die Weisen bewahren die Lehre; aber der Narren Mund ist nahe dem Schrecken.
15 The riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
Das Gut des Reichen ist seine feste Stadt; aber die Armen macht die Armut blöde.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
Der Gerechte braucht seines Guts zum Leben; aber der Gottlose braucht seines Einkommens zur Sünde.
17 He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
Die Zucht halten, ist der Weg zum Leben; wer aber die Strafe verläßt, der bleibt irrig.
18 He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
Falsche Mäuler decken Haß; und wer verleumdet, der ist ein Narr.
19 In many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
Wo viel Worte sind, da geht es ohne Sünde nicht ab; wer aber seine Lippen hält, ist klug.
20 The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
Des Gerechten Zunge ist köstlich Silber; aber der Gottlosen Herz ist nichts.
21 The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
Des Gerechten Lippen weiden viele; aber die Narren werden in ihrer Torheit sterben.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
Der Segen des HERRN macht reich ohne Mühe.
23 It is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
Ein Narr treibt Mutwillen und hat's noch dazu seinen Spott; aber der Mann ist weise, der drauf merkt.
24 That which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
Was der Gottlose fürchtet, das wird ihm begegnen; und was die Gerechten begehren, wird ihnen gegeben.
25 As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.
Der Gottlose ist wie ein Wetter, das überhin geht und nicht mehr ist; der Gerechte aber bestehet ewiglich.
26 As vineger is to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the slouthful to them that send him.
Wie der Essig den Zähnen und der Rauch den Augen tut, so tut der Faule denen, die ihn senden.
27 The feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
Die Furcht des HERRN mehret die Tage; aber die Jahre der Gottlosen werden verkürzt.
28 The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
Das Warten der Gerechten wird Freude werden; aber der Gottlosen Hoffnung wird verloren sein.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
Der Weg des HERRN ist des Frommen Trotz; aber die Übeltäter sind blöde.
30 The righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Der Gerechte wird nimmermehr umgestoßen; aber die Gottlosen werden nicht im Lande bleiben.
31 The mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
Der Mund des Gerechten bringt Weisheit; aber das Maul der Verkehrten wird ausgerottet.
32 The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
Die Lippen der Gerechten lehren heilsam Ding; aber der Gottlosen Mund ist verkehrt.
