Philippians 3
1 Moreouer, my brethren, reioyce in the Lord. It grieueth mee not to write the same things to you, and for you it is a sure thing.
Enfin, mes frères, réjouissez-vous dans le Seigneur! Vous écrire les mêmes choses, à moi certes ce n'est pas fatigant, mais pour vous c'est sûr.
2 Beware of dogges: beware of euil workers: beware of the concision.
Prenez garde aux chiens, prenez garde aux mauvais ouvriers, prenez garde à la fausse circoncision.
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirite, and reioyce in Christ Iesus, and haue no confidence in the flesh:
Car nous sommes la circoncision, qui adorons Dieu par l'Esprit, qui nous réjouissons en Jésus-Christ, et qui n'avons pas confiance dans la chair,
4 Though I might also haue confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, much more I,
quand même j'aurais confiance dans la chair. Si quelqu'un d'autre pense qu'il a confiance dans la chair, moi encore plus:
5 Circumcised the eight day, of the kinred of Israel, of the tribe of Beniamin, an Ebrewe of the Ebrewes, by the Lawe a Pharise.
circoncis le huitième jour, de la race d'Israël, de la tribu de Benjamin, Hébreu des Hébreux, pharisien pour ce qui concerne la loi,
6 Concerning zeale, I persecuted ye Church: touching the righteousnesse which is in the Law, I was vnrebukeable.
persécuteur de l'Église pour ce qui concerne le zèle, irréprochable pour ce qui concerne la justice de la loi.
7 But the thinges that were vantage vnto me, the same I counted losse for Christes sake.
Cependant, je considère comme une perte pour Christ les choses qui m'ont été acquises.
8 Yea, doubtlesse I thinke all thinges but losse for the excellent knowledge sake of Christ Iesus my Lord, for whome I haue counted all things losse, and doe iudge them to bee dongue, that I might winne Christ,
Oui, assurément, et je regarde tout comme une perte, à cause de l'excellence de la connaissance de Jésus-Christ, mon Seigneur, pour lequel j'ai souffert la perte de toutes choses, et je ne les regarde que comme des déchets, afin de gagner Christ
9 And might bee founde in him, that is, not hauing mine owne righteousnesse, which is of the Lawe, but that which is through the faith of Christ, euen the righteousnesse which is of God through faith,
et d'être trouvé en lui, n'ayant pas une justice qui me soit propre, celle de la loi, mais celle qui vient de la foi en Christ, la justice qui vient de Dieu par la foi,
10 That I may know him, and the vertue of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his afflictions, and be made conformable vnto his death,
afin que je le connaisse, lui et la puissance de sa résurrection, et la communion de ses souffrances, en devenant conforme à sa mort,
11 If by any meanes I might attaine vnto the resurrection of the dead:
si je puis, par quelque moyen, parvenir à la résurrection des morts.
12 Not as though I had alreadie attained to it, either were alreadie perfect: but I follow, if that I may comprehend that for whose sake also I am comprehended of Christ Iesus.
Non que j'aie déjà obtenu, ou que je sois déjà parfait; mais je persévère, afin de saisir ce que j'ai été saisi par Jésus-Christ.
13 Brethren, I count not my selfe, that I haue attained to it, but one thing I doe: I forget that which is behinde, and endeuour my selfe vnto that which is before,
Frères, je ne me considère pas encore comme ayant pris pied, mais je sais une chose: oubliant ce qui est en arrière et m'attachant à ce qui est en avant,
14 And follow hard toward the marke, for the prise of the hie calling of God in Christ Iesus.
je m'efforce d'atteindre le but pour le prix de la haute vocation de Dieu en Jésus-Christ.
15 Let vs therefore as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if yee be otherwise minded, God shall reueile euen the same vnto you.
Pensons donc ainsi, nous tous qui sommes parfaits. Si, en quoi que ce soit, vous pensez autrement, Dieu vous le révélera aussi.
16 Neuerthelesse, in that whereunto wee are come, let vs proceede by one rule, that wee may minde one thing.
Néanmoins, dans la mesure où nous sommes déjà parvenus, marchons selon la même règle. Ayons le même esprit.
17 Brethren, bee followers of mee, and looke on them, which walke so, as yee haue vs for an ensample.
Frères, soyez ensemble mes imitateurs, et remarquez ceux qui marchent dans cette voie, comme vous nous avez pour exemple.
18 For many walke, of whom I haue told you often, and nowe tell you weeping, that they are the enemies of the Crosse of Christ:
Car plusieurs marchent, dont je vous ai souvent parlé, et dont je vous parle maintenant en pleurant, comme les ennemis de la croix de Christ,
19 Whose ende is damnation, whose God is their bellie, and whose glorie is to their shame, which minde earthly things.
dont la fin est la perdition, dont le dieu est le ventre, et dont la gloire est dans leur honte, qui pensent aux choses terrestres.
20 But our conuersation is in heauen, from whence also we looke for the Sauiour, euen the Lord Iesus Christ,
Car notre cité est dans les cieux, d'où nous attendons aussi un Sauveur, le Seigneur Jésus-Christ,
21 Who shall change our vile bodie, that it may be fashioned like vnto his glorious body, according to the working, whereby hee is able euen to subdue all things vnto him selfe.
qui transformera le corps de notre humiliation pour le rendre conforme au corps de sa gloire, selon l'opération par laquelle il peut même s'assujettir toutes choses.
