Obadiah 1
1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God against Edom, We haue heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassadour is sent among the heathen: arise, and let vs rise vp against her to battel.
Vizyon Abdias la. Konsa pale Senyè BONDYE a konsènan Édom. Nou te tande yon rapò soti nan SENYÈ a, yon mesaje te voye pami nasyon yo. Li t ap di: “Leve, annou ale goumen kont li”—
2 Beholde, I haue made thee small among the heathen: thou art vtterly despised.
Gade byen, Mwen va fè ou vin piti pami nasyon yo. Ou vin meprize anpil.
3 The pride of thine heart hath deceiued thee: thou that dwellest in the cleftes of the rockes, whose habitation is hie, that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me downe to the ground?
Awogans a kè nou te twonpe nou, nou menm ki rete nan falèz wòch yo, nan wotè a abitasyon nou, ki di nan kè nou: “Se kilès ki ka rale m rive atè?”
4 Though thou exalt thy selfe as the eagle, and make thy nest among the starres, thence will I bring thee downe, sayth the Lord.
“Menmsi nou bati anlè tankou èg, menmsi nou mete nich nou pami zetwal yo, mwen va rale nou fè nou desann soti la,” deklare SENYÈ a.
5 Came theeues to thee or robbers by night? howe wast thou brought to silence? woulde they not haue stolen, til they had ynough? if the grape gatherers came to thee, woulde they not leaue some grapes?
Si vòlè te vin kote nou, vòlè nan lannwit yo— o ala devaste nou va vin devaste— èske yo pa t ap vòlè sèlman pou yo ta jwenn ase? Si ranmasè rezen yo te rive kote nou èske yo pa t ap kite kèk ti rès?
6 Howe are the things of Esau sought vp, and his treasures searched?
Ala depouye Ésaü va vin depouye! Ala fouye yo va fouye trezò kache li yo!
7 All the men of thy confederacie haue driuen thee to ye borders: the men that were at peace with thee, haue deceiued thee, and preuailed against thee: they that eate thy bread, haue laid a wound vnder thee: there is none vnderstanding in him.
Tout sila ki fè alyans avèk nou yo va voye nou kote fwontyè a. Sila ki anpè ak nou yo te twonpe nou, e yo deja genyen nou. Zanmi ki manje pen nou yo ap fè pèlen pou nou. Nanpwen bon konprann nan li.
8 Shall not I in that day, saith the Lord, euen destroy the wise men out of Edom, and vnderstanding from the mount of Esau?
Èske Mwen p ap nan jou sa a, deklare SENYÈ a; “Detwi mesye saj Édom yo, e retire bon konprann ki soti sou mòn Ésaü a?
9 And thy strong men, O Teman, shall bee afraide, because euery one of the mount of Esau shalbe cut off by slaughter.
Answit, mesye pwisan nou yo va vin enkyete, O Théman, jis tout kapab koupe retire nèt de mòn Ésaü ak gwo masak.
10 For thy crueltie against thy brother Iaakob, shame shall couer thee, and thou shalt be cut off for euer.
Akoz vyolans anvè frè nou Jacob, nou va vin kouvri ak wont, e nou va vin koupe retire nèt jis pou tout tan.
11 When thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers caried away his substance, and straungers entred into his gates, and cast lots vpon Ierusalem, euen thou wast as one of them.
Nan jou ke nou te kanpe a distans, nan jou ke etranje yo te bwote tout byen li, lòt nasyon yo te antre nan pòtay li, e te fè tiraj osò pou Jérusalem—nou menm tou te sanble ak yo.
12 But thou shouldest not haue beholden the day of thy brother, in the day that hee was made a stranger, neither shouldest thou haue reioyced ouer the children of Iudah, in the day of their destruction: thou shouldest not haue spoken proudly in the day of affliction.
Pa vin rejwi ou nan jou malè frè ou a, ni pa rejwi ou sou fis a Juda yo nan jou destriksyon yo a. Pa anfle ou menm nan jou malè yo.
13 Thou shouldest not haue entred into the gate of my people, in the day of their destruction, neither shouldest thou haue once looked on their affliction in the day of their destruction, nor haue layde hands on their substance in the day of their destruction.
Pa antre nan pòtay pèp Mwen an nan jou malè yo. Ni pa rejwi ou de gwo dega nan jou malè yo. Pa piyaje byen yo nan jou malè yo.
14 Neyther shouldest thou haue stande in the crosse wayes to cut off them, that shoulde escape, neither shouldest thou haue shut vp the remnant thereof in the day of affliction.
Pa kanpe nan kafou chemen pou touye sila k ap sove ale sòti nan yo. Epi pa livre a lènmi sila ki chape nan jou malè yo.
15 For the day of the Lord is neere, vpon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall bee done to thee: thy reward shall returne vpon thine head.
Paske jou SENYÈ a ap rapwoche sou tout nasyon yo! Jan ou te fè a, se konsa yo va fè ou.
16 For as yee haue drunke vpon mine holy Mountaine, so shall all the heathen drinke continually: yea, they shall drinke and swallow vp, and they shalbe as though they had not bene.
Paske menm jan ou te bwè sou mòn sen Mwen an, Konsa tout nasyon yo va bwè tout tan. Yo va bwè, yo va vale, l ap vin konsi yo pa t janm te la.
17 But vpon mount Zion shalbe deliuerance, and it shalbe holy, and the house of Iaakob shall possesse their possessions,
Men sou mòn Sion, va genyen sila ki chape yo, e mòn sa va sen. Epi lakay Jacob va posede posesyon yo.
18 And the house of Iaakob shalbe a fire, and the house of Ioseph a flame, and the house of Esau as stubble, and they shall kindle in them and deuoure them: and there shall bee no remnant of the house of Esau for the Lord hath spoken it.
Answit, lakay Jacob va vin yon dife, e lakay Joseph va vin yon flanm; men lakay Ésaü va vin kon pay. Konsa, yo va limen dife sou yo pou brile yo nèt pou pa gen ki rete lakay Ésaü ankò,” paske SENYÈ a fin pale.
19 And they shall possesse the South side of the mount of Esau, and the plaine of the Philistims: and they shall possesse the fieldes of Ephraim, and the fieldes of Samaria, and Beniamin shall haue Gilead.
Moun Negev la va vin posede mòn a Ésaü ak sila a Schfela yo, gwo plèn Philistie a. Yo va posede teritwa Éphraïm, teritwa Samarie, e Benjamin va vin posede Galaad, tou.
20 And the captiuitie of this host of the children of Israel, which were among the Canaanites, shall possesse vnto Zarephath, and the captiuitie of Ierusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possesse the cities of the South.
Epi egzile a lame fis Israël sa a, ki pami Kananeyen yo, va posede jis rive Sarepta, e egzile Jérusalem ki Sepharad yo va vin posede vil Negev yo.
21 And they that shall saue, shall come vp to mount Zion to iudge the mount of Esau, and the kingdome shalbe the Lords.
Liberatè yo va monte Mòn Sion pou jije mòn Ésaü a e wayòm nan va vin pou a SENYÈ a.
