Nehemiah 3
1 Then arose Eliashib the hie Priest with his brethren the Priestes, and they buylt the sheepegate: they repayred it, and set vp the doores thereof: euen vnto the tower of Meah repayred they it, and vnto the tower of Hananeel.
En Eljasib, de hogepriester, maakte zich op met zijn broederen, de priesteren, en zij bouwden de Schaapspoort; zij heiligden ze, en richtten haar deuren op; ja, zij heiligden ze tot aan den toren Mea, tot aan den toren Hananeel.
2 And next vnto him buylded the men of Iericho, and beside him Zaccur the sonne of Imri.
En aan zijn hand bouwden de mannen van Jericho; ook bouwde aan zijn hand Zacchur, de zoon van Imri.
3 But the fish port did the sonnes of Senaah buylde, which also layde the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
De Vispoort nu bouwden de kinderen van Senaa; zij zolderden die, en richtten haar deuren op, met haar sloten en haar grendelen.
4 And next vnto them fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vrijah, the sonne of Hakkoz: and next vnto them fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Meshezabeel: and next vnto them fortified Zadok, the sonne of Baana:
En aan hun hand verbeterde Meremoth, de zoon van Uria, den zoon van Koz; en aan hun hand verbeterde Mesullam, de zoon van Berechja, den zoon van Mesezabeel; en aan hun hand verbeterde Zadok, zoon van Baena.
5 And next vnto them fortified the Tekoites: but the great men of them put not their neckes to the worke of their lordes.
Voorts aan hun hand verbeterden de Thekoieten; maar hun voortreffelijken brachten hun hals niet tot den dienst huns Heeren.
6 And the gate of the olde fishpoole fortified Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Meshullam the sonne of Besodaiah: they laid the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, and the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
En de Oude poort verbeterden Jojada, de zoon van Paseah, en Mesullam, de zoon van Besodja; deze zolderden zij, en richtten haar deuren op, met haar sloten en haar grendelen.
7 Next vnto them also fortified Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Iadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, vnto the throne of the Duke, which was beyond the Riuer.
En aan hun hand verbeterden Melatja, de Gibeoniet, en Jadon, de Meronothiet, de mannen van Gibeon en van Mizpa; tot aan den stoel des landvoogds aan deze zijde der rivier.
8 Next vnto him fortified Vzziel the sonne of Harhohiah of the golde smithes: next vnto him also fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Harakkahim, and they repayred Ierusalem vnto the broad wall.
Aan zijn hand verbeterde Uzziel, de zoon van Harhoja, een der goudsmeden, en aan zijn hand verbeterde Hananja, de zoon van een der apothekers; en zij lieten Jeruzalem tot aan den breden muur.
9 Also next vnto them fortified Rephaiah, the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem.
En aan hun hand verbeterde Refaja, de zoon van Hur, overste des halven deels van Jeruzalem.
10 And next vnto him fortified Iedaiah the sonne of Harumaph, euen ouer against his house: and next vnto him fortified Hattush, the sonne of Hashabniah.
Voorts aan hun hand verbeterde Jedaja, de zoon van Herumaf, en tegenover zijn huis; en aan zijn hand verbeterde Hattus, de zoon van Hasabneja.
11 Malchiiah the sonne of Harim, and Hashub the sonne of Pahath Moab fortified the seconde porcion, and the tower of the fornaces.
De andere mate verbeterden Malchia, de zoon van Harim, en Hassub, de zoon van Pahath-Moab; daartoe den Bakoventoren.
12 Next vnto him also fortified Shallum, the sonne of Halloesh, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem, he, and his daughters.
En aan zijn hand verbeterde Sallum, de zoon van Lohes, overste van het andere halve deel van Jeruzalem, hij en zijn dochteren.
13 The valley gate fortified Hanum, and the inhabitants of Zanuah: they buylt it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, euen a thousand cubites on the wall vnto the dung porte.
De Dalpoort verbeterden Hanun, en de inwoners van Zanoah; zij bouwden die, en richtten haar deuren op, met haar sloten en haar grendelen; daartoe duizend ellen aan den muur, tot aan de Mistpoort.
14 But the dung port fortified Malchiah, the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of the fourth part of Beth-haccarem: he built it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.
De Mistpoort nu verbeterde Malchia, de zoon van Rechab, overste van het deel Beth-Cherem; hij bouwde ze, en richtte haar deuren op, met haar sloten en haar grendelen.
15 But the gate of the fountaine fortified Shallun, the sonne of Col-hozeh, the ruler of the fourth part of Mizpah: he builded it, and couered it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, and the wall vnto the fishpoole of Shelah by the Kings garden, and vnto the steppes that goe downe from the citie of Dauid.
En de Fonteinpoort verbeterde Sallum, de zoon van Kol-Hoze, overste van het deel van Mizpa; hij bouwde ze, en overdekte ze, en richtte haar deuren op, met haar sloten en haar grendelen; daartoe den muur des vijvers Schelah bij des konings hof, en tot aan de trappen, die afgaan van Davids stad.
16 After him fortified Nehemiah the sonne of Azbuk, the ruler of ye halfe part of Beth-zur, vntill the otherside ouer against the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the fishpoole that was repaired, and vnto the house of the mightie.
Na hem verbeterde Nehemia, de zoon van Azbuk, overste van het halve deel van Beth-Zur, tot tegenover Davids graven, en tot aan den gemaakten vijver, en tot aan het huis der helden.
17 After him fortified the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani, and next vnto him fortified Hashabiah the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah in his quarter.
Na hem verbeterden de Levieten, Rehum, de zoon van Bani; aan zijn hand verbeterde Hasabja, de overste van het halve deel van Kehila, in zijn deel.
18 After him fortified their brethren: Bauai, the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah:
Na hem verbeterden hun broederen, Bavai, de zoon van Henadad, de overste van het andere halve deel van Kehila.
19 And next vnto him fortified Ezer, the sonne of Ieshua the ruler of Mizpah, the other portion ouer against the going vp to the corner of the armour.
Aan zijn hand verbeterde Ezer, de zoon van Jesua, de overste van Mizpa, een ander maat; tegenover den opgang naar het wapenhuis, aan den hoek.
20 After him was earnest Baruch the sonne of Zacchai, and fortified another portion from the corner vnto the doore of the house of Eliashib the hie Priest.
Na hem verbeterde zeer vuriglijk Baruch, de zoon van Zabbai, een andere maat; van den hoek tot aan de deur van het huis van Eljasib, den hogepriester.
21 After him fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vriiah, the sonne of Hakkoz, another portion from the doore of the house of Eliashib, euen as long as the house of Eliashib extended.
Na hem verbeterde Meremoth, de zoon van Uria, den zoon van Koz, een ander maat; van de huisdeur van Eljasib af, tot aan het einde van Eljasibs huis.
22 After him also fortified the Priests, the men of the playne.
En na hem verbeterden de priesteren, wonende in de vlakke velden.
23 After them fortified Beniamin, and Hasshub ouer against their house: after him fortified Azariah, the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ananiah, by his house.
Daarna verbeterden Benjamin, en Hassub, tegenover hun huis; na hem verbeterde Azaria, de zoon van Maaseja, den zoon van Hananja, bij zijn huis.
24 After him fortified Binnui, the sonne of Henadad another portion, from the house of Azariah vnto the turning and vnto the corner.
Na hem verbeterde Binnui, de zoon van Henadad, een ander maat; van het huis van Azarja tot aan den hoek en tot aan het punt;
25 Palal, the sonne of Vzai, from ouer against the corner, and the high tower, that lieth out from the Kings house, which is beside the court of the prison. After him, Pedaiah, the sonne of Parosh.
Palal, de zoon van Uzai, tegen den hoek, en den hogen toren over, die van des konings huis uitsteekt, die bij den voorhof der gevangenis is; na hem Pedaja, de zoon van Paros;
26 And the Nethinims they dwelt in ye fortresse vnto the place ouer against the water gate, Eastwarde, and to the tower that lyeth out.
De Nethinim nu, die in Ofel woonden, tot tegenover de Waterpoort aan het oosten, en den uitstekenden toren.
27 After him fortified the Tekoites another portion ouer against the great tower, that lyeth out, euen vnto the wall of the fortresse.
Daarna verbeterden de Thekoieten een ander maat; tegenover den groten uitstekenden toren, en tot aan den muur van Ofel.
28 From aboue the horsegate forth fortified the Priests, euery one ouer against his house.
Van boven de Paardenpoort verbeterden de priesteren, een iegelijk tegenover zijn huis.
29 After them fortified Zadok the sonne of Immer ouer against his house: and after him fortified Shemaiah, the sonne of Shechadiah the keeper of the East gate.
Daarna verbeterde Zadok, de zoon van Immer, tegenover zijn huis. En na hem verbeterde Semaja, de zoon van Sechanja, de bewaarder van de Oostpoort.
30 After him fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sonne of Zalaph, the sixt, another portion after him fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, ouer against his chamber.
Na hem verbeterden Hananja, de zoon van Selemja, en Hanun, de zoon van Zalaf, de zesde, een andere maat. Na hem verbeterde Mesullam, de zoon van Berechja, tegenover zijn kamer.
31 After him fortified Malchiah the goldesmiths sonne, vntil the house of the Nethinims, and of ye marchants ouer against the gate Miphkad, and to the chamber in the corner.
Na hem verbeterde Malchia, de zoon eens goudsmids, tot aan het huis der Nethinim en der kruideniers, tegenover de poort van Mifkad, en tot de opperzaal van het punt.
32 And betweene the chamber of the corner vnto the sheepegate fortified the goldesmithes and the marchantes.
En tussen de opperzaal van het punt tot de Schaapspoort toe, verbeterden de goudsmeden en de kruideniers.
