Nahum 3
1 O bloody citie, it is all full of lyes, and robberie: the pray departeth not:
Ai da cidade sangrenta! Está tudo cheio de mentiras e roubos - sem fim para a presa.
2 The noyse of a whippe, and the noyse of the mouing of the wheeles, and the beating of the horses, and the leaping of the charets.
O barulho do chicote, o barulho do chocalhar das rodas, os cavalos empinando, e as carruagens de cerco,
3 The horseman lifteth vp both the bright sword, and the glittering speare, and a multitude is slaine, and the dead bodyes are many: there is none ende of their corpses: they stumble vpon their corpses,
o cavaleiro carregando, e a espada cintilante, a lança cintilante, e uma multidão de mortos, e um grande monte de cadáveres, e não há fim para os corpos. Eles tropeçam em seus corpos
4 Because of the multitude of the fornications of the harlot that is beautifull, and is a mistresse of witchcraft, and selleth the people thorow her whoredome, and the nations thorowe her witchcrafts.
por causa da multidão da prostituição da prostituta sedutora, a dona da bruxaria, que vende nações através de sua prostituição, e famílias através de sua bruxaria.
5 Beholde, I come vpon thee, saith the Lord of hostes, and will discouer thy skirtes vpon thy face, and will shewe the nations thy filthines, and the kingdomes thy shame.
“Eis que estou contra ti”, diz Javé dos Exércitos, “e levantarei tuas saias sobre teu rosto”. Mostrarei às nações sua nudez, e aos reinos sua vergonha”.
6 And I will cast filth vpon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gasing stocke.
Vou jogar sujeira abominável sobre vocês e torná-los infames, e farei de vocês um espetáculo”.
7 And it shall come to passe, that al they that looke vpon thee, shall flee from thee, and say, Nineueh is destroyed, who will haue pitie vpon her? where shall I seeke comforters for thee?
Acontecerá que todos aqueles que olharem para você fugirão de você e dirão: 'Nínive é um desperdício! Quem chorará por ela?”. Onde procurarei consoladores para você”?
8 Art thou better then No, which was ful of people? that lay in the riuers, and had the waters round about it? whose ditche was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
Você é melhor que No-Amon, que estava situada entre os rios, que tinha as águas ao seu redor, cuja muralha era o mar, e seu muro era do mar?
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and there was none ende: Put and Lubim were her helpers.
Cush e o Egito eram sua força sem limites. Put e a Líbia eram seus ajudantes.
10 Yet was she caried awaye, and went into captiuitie: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streetes: and they cast lottes for her noble men, and al her myghtie men were bound in chaines.
No entanto, ela se deixou levar. Ela foi para o cativeiro. Seus filhos pequenos também foram despedaçados à frente de todas as ruas, e lançaram sortes por seus honrados homens, e todos os seus grandes homens foram amarrados em correntes.
11 Also thou shalt bee drunken: thou shalt hide thy selfe, and shalt seeke helpe because of the enemie.
Você também estará bêbada. Você estará escondido. Você também procurará um refúgio por causa do inimigo.
12 All thy strong cities shall be like figtrees with the first ripe figs: for if they be shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
Todas as suas fortalezas serão como figueiras com os primeiros figos maduros. Se forem sacudidos, cairão na boca do comedor.
13 Beholde, thy people within thee are women: the gates of thy land shalbe opened vnto thine enemies, and ye fire shall deuoure thy barres.
Eis que suas tropas entre vocês são mulheres. Os portões de sua terra estão bem abertos para seus inimigos. O fogo devorou suas barras.
14 Drawe thee waters for the siege: fortifie thy strong holdes: go into the clay, and temper the morter: make strong bricke.
Saca água para o cerco. Fortaleça suas fortalezas. Entre na argila, e pise a argamassa. Faça o forno de tijolos forte.
15 There shall ye fire deuoure thee: the sword shall cut thee off: it shall eate thee vp like the locustes, though thou bee multiplied like the locustes, and multiplyed like the grashopper.
Aí o fogo o devorará. A espada o cortará. Ela te devorará como o gafanhoto. Multiplique como os gafanhotos. Multiplicar como o gafanhoto.
16 Thou hast multiplied thy marchantes aboue the starres of heauen: the locust spoileth and flyeth away.
Você aumentou mais seus comerciantes do que as estrelas dos céus. O gafanhoto tira e foge.
17 Thy princes are as the grashoppers, and thy captaines as the great grashoppers which remaine in the hedges in the colde day: but when the sunne ariseth, they flee away and their place is not knowen where they are.
Seus guardas são como os gafanhotos, e seus oficiais como os enxames de gafanhotos, que se instalam nas paredes em um dia frio, mas quando o sol aparece, eles fogem, e seu lugar não é conhecido onde eles estão.
18 Thy shepheardes doe sleepe, O King of Asshur: thy strong men lie downe: thy people is scattered vpon the mountaines, and no man gathereth them.
Seus pastores adormecem, rei da Assíria. Seus nobres deitam-se. Seu povo está espalhado pelas montanhas, e não há ninguém para reuni-los.
19 There is no healing of thy wounde: thy plague is grieuous: all that heare the brute of thee, shall clap the handes ouer thee: for vpon whome hath not thy malice passed continually?
Não há cura para sua ferida, pois sua lesão é fatal. Todos os que ouvem o seu relato batem palmas em você, pois quem não sentiu sua crueldade sem fim?
