Matthew 23
1 Then spake Iesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Wtedy Jezus powiedział do tłumów i do swoich uczniów:
2 Saying, The Scribes and the Pharises sit in Moses seate.
Na katedrze Mojżesza zasiedli uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze.
3 All therefore whatsoeuer they bid you obserue, that obserue and doe: but after their workes doe not: for they say, and doe not.
Czyńcie więc i przestrzegajcie wszystkiego, co nakazują wam przestrzegać, ale według ich uczynków nie postępujcie. Mówią bowiem, ale nie czynią.
4 For they binde heauie burdens, and grieuous to be borne, and lay them on mens shoulders, but they themselues will not moue them with one of their fingers.
Bo wiążą brzemiona ciężkie i nie do uniesienia i kładą je na barki ludzi, lecz sami nie chcą ich ruszyć nawet palcem.
5 All their workes they doe for to be seene of men: for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the frindges of their garments,
A wszystkie swoje uczynki spełniają, aby ludzie ich widzieli. Poszerzają swoje filakterie i wydłużają frędzle swoich płaszczy.
6 And loue the chiefe place at feastes, and to haue the chiefe seates in the assemblies,
Kochają też pierwsze miejsca na ucztach i pierwsze krzesła w synagogach;
7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
I pozdrowienia na rynkach, i aby ludzie nazywali ich: Rabbi, Rabbi!
8 But be not ye called, Rabbi: for one is your doctour, to wit, Christ, and all ye are brethren.
Ale wy nie nazywajcie się Rabbi. Jeden bowiem jest wasz Mistrz, Chrystus, a wy wszyscy jesteście braćmi.
9 And call no man your father vpon the earth: for there is but one, your father which is in heauen.
I nikogo na ziemi nie nazywajcie waszym ojcem. Jeden bowiem jest wasz Ojciec, który jest w niebie.
10 Be not called doctours: for one is your doctour, euen Christ.
Niech też was nie nazywają mistrzami, gdyż jeden jest wasz Mistrz, Chrystus.
11 But he that is greatest among you, let him be your seruant.
Ale kto z was jest największy, będzie waszym sługą.
12 For whosoeuer will exalt himselfe, shall be brought lowe: and whosoeuer will humble himselfe, shalbe exalted.
Kto się wywyższa, będzie poniżony, a kto się poniża, będzie wywyższony.
13 Wo therefore be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites, because ye shut vp the kingdome of heauen before men: for ye your selues go not in, neither suffer ye them that would enter, to come in.
Lecz biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo zamykacie królestwo niebieskie przed ludźmi. Sami bowiem tam nie wchodzicie ani wchodzącym nie pozwalacie wejść.
14 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers: wherefore ye shall receiue the greater damnation.
Biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo pożeracie domy wdów i dla pozoru odprawiacie długie modlitwy. Dlatego otrzymacie surowszy wyrok.
15 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye compasse sea and land to make one of your profession: and when he is made, ye make him two folde more the childe of hell, then you your selues. (Geenna g1067)
Biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo obchodzicie morza i lądy, aby pozyskać jednego współwyznawcę, a gdy się nim stanie, czynicie go synem piekła dwa razy takim jak wy sami. (Geenna g1067)
16 Wo be vnto you blinde guides, which say, Whosoeuer sweareth by the Temple, it is nothing: but whosoeuer sweareth by the golde of the Temple, he offendeth.
Biada wam, ślepi przewodnicy, którzy mówicie: Kto przysięga na świątynię, to nic nie znaczy, ale kto przysięga na złoto świątyni, jest związany [przysięgą].
17 Ye fooles and blinde, whether is greater, the golde, or the Temple that sanctifieth the golde?
Głupi i ślepi! Cóż bowiem jest ważniejsze: złoto czy świątynia, która uświęca złoto?
18 And whosoeuer sweareth by the altar, it is nothing: but whosoeuer sweareth by the offering that is vpon it, offendeth.
A kto przysięga na ołtarz, to nic nie znaczy, lecz kto przysięga na ofiarę, która jest na nim, jest związany [przysięgą].
19 Ye fooles and blinde, whether is greater, the offering, or the altar which sanctifieth the offering?
Głupi i ślepi! Cóż bowiem [jest] ważniejsze: ofiara czy ołtarz, który uświęca ofiarę?
20 Whosoeuer therefore sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
Kto więc przysięga na ołtarz, przysięga na niego i na to wszystko, co na nim leży.
21 And whosoeuer sweareth by the Temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
A kto przysięga na świątynię, przysięga na nią i na tego, który w niej mieszka.
22 And he that sweareth by heauen, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
I kto przysięga na niebo, przysięga na tron Boga i na tego, który na nim zasiada.
23 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye tithe mynt, and annyse, and cummyn, and leaue the weightier matters of the law, as iudgement, and mercy and fidelitie. These ought ye to haue done, and not to haue left the other.
Biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo dajecie dziesięcinę z mięty, anyżu i kminku, a opuszczacie [to, co] ważniejsze w prawie: sąd, miłosierdzie i wiarę. To należało czynić i tamtego nie zaniedbywać.
24 Ye blinde guides, which straine out a gnat, and swallowe a camell.
Ślepi przewodnicy! Przecedzacie komara, a połykacie wielbłąda.
25 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye make cleane the vtter side of the cup, and of the platter: but within they are ful of briberie and excesse.
Biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo oczyszczacie kubek i misę z zewnątrz, a wewnątrz pełne są zdzierstwa i niepowściągliwości.
26 Thou blinde Pharise, cleanse first the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be cleane also.
Ślepy faryzeuszu, oczyść najpierw wnętrze kubka i misy, aby i to, co jest na zewnątrz, było czyste.
27 Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye are like vnto whited tombes, which appeare beautifull outward, but are within full of dead mens bones, and all filthines.
Biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo jesteście podobni do grobów pobielanych, które z zewnątrz wydają się piękne, ale wewnątrz pełne są kości umarłych i wszelkiej nieczystości.
28 So are ye also: for outwarde ye appeare righteous vnto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisie and iniquitie.
Tak i wy na zewnątrz wydajecie się ludziom sprawiedliwi, ale wewnątrz jesteście pełni obłudy i nieprawości.
29 Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye build the tombes of the Prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
Biada wam, uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, obłudnicy, bo budujecie grobowce proroków i zdobicie nagrobki sprawiedliwych;
30 And say, If we had bene in the dayes of our fathers, we would not haue bene partners with them in the blood of the Prophets.
I mówicie: Gdybyśmy żyli za dni naszych ojców, nie bylibyśmy ich wspólnikami w [przelewaniu] krwi proroków.
31 So then ye be witnesses vnto your selues, that ye are the children of them that murthered the Prophets.
A tak sami sobie wystawiacie świadectwo, że jesteście synami tych, którzy pozabijali proroków.
32 Fulfill ye also ye measure of your fathers.
I wy dopełnijcie miary waszych ojców!
33 O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell! (Geenna g1067)
Węże, plemię żmijowe! Jakże będziecie mogli uniknąć potępienia ognia piekielnego? (Geenna g1067)
34 Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie,
Dlatego ja posyłam do was proroków, mędrców i uczonych w Piśmie. [Niektórych] z nich zabijecie i ukrzyżujecie, a niektórych ubiczujecie w waszych synagogach i będziecie ich prześladować od miasta do miasta;
35 That vpon you may come all the righteous blood that was shed vpon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, vnto the blood of Zacharias the sonne of Barachias, whome ye slewe betweene the Temple and the altar.
Aby spadła na was wszelka krew sprawiedliwa przelana na ziemi, od krwi sprawiedliwego Abla aż do krwi Zachariasza, syna Barachiasza, którego zabiliście między świątynią a ołtarzem.
36 Verely I say vnto you, all these things shall come vpon this generation.
Zaprawdę powiadam wam: Spadnie to wszystko na to pokolenie.
37 Hierusalem, Hierusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them which are sent to thee, how often would I haue gathered thy children together, as the henne gathereth her chickins vnder her wings, and ye would not!
Jeruzalem, Jeruzalem, które zabijasz proroków i kamienujesz tych, którzy są do ciebie posłani! Ile razy chciałem zgromadzić twoje dzieci, tak jak kokoszka gromadzi swe kurczęta pod skrzydła, a nie chcieliście!
38 Beholde, your habitation shalbe left vnto you desolate,
Oto wasz dom zostanie wam pusty.
39 For I say vnto you, ye shall not see mee henceforth till that ye say, Blessed is he that commeth in the Name of the Lord.
Mówię wam bowiem: Odtąd nie ujrzycie mnie, aż powiecie: Błogosławiony, który przychodzi w imieniu Pana.
