Matthew 17
1 And after sixe dayes, Iesus tooke Peter, and Iames and Iohn his brother, and brought them vp into an hie mountaine apart,
Seis dias depois, Jesus levou comsigo a Pedro, e a Thiago, e a João, seu irmão, e os conduziu em particular a um alto monte,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the Sunne, and his clothes were as white as the light.
E transfigurou-se diante d'elles; e o seu rosto resplandeceu como o sol, e os seus vestidos se tornaram brancos como a luz.
3 And beholde, there appeared vnto them Moses, and Elias, talking with him.
E eis que lhes appareceram Moysés e Elias, fallando com elle.
4 Then answered Peter, and saide to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: if thou wilt, let vs make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
E Pedro, tomando a palavra, disse a Jesus: Senhor, bom é estarmos aqui; se queres, façamos aqui tres tabernaculos, um para ti, um para Moysés, e um para Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloude shadowed them: and beholde, there came a voyce out of the cloude, saying, This is that my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased: heare him.
E, estando elle ainda a fallar, eis que uma nuvem luminosa os cobriu. E eis que uma voz da nuvem disse: Este é o meu amado Filho, em quem me comprazo: escutae-o.
6 And when the disciples heard that, they fell on their faces, and were sore afraide.
E os discipulos, ouvindo isto, cairam sobre seus rostos, e tiveram grande medo.
7 Then Iesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraide.
E Jesus, approximando-se-lhes, tocou-os, e disse: Levantae-vos; e não tenhaes medo.
8 And when they lifted vp their eyes, they sawe no man, saue Iesus onely.
E, erguendo elles os olhos, ninguem viram senão unicamente a Jesus.
9 And as they came downe from the moutaine, Iesus charged them, saying, Shewe the vision to no man, vntil the Sonne of man rise againe from the dead.
E, descendo elles do monte, Jesus lhes ordenou, dizendo: A ninguem conteis a visão, até que o Filho do homem seja resuscitado dos mortos.
10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come?
E os seus discipulos o interrogaram, dizendo: Porque dizem então os escribas que é mister que Elias venha primeiro?
11 And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Certeinely Elias must first come, and restore all thinges.
E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Em verdade Elias virá primeiro, e restaurará todas as coisas;
12 But I say vnto you that Elias is come alreadie, and they knewe him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would: likewise shall also the Sonne of man suffer of them.
Mas digo-vos que Elias já veiu, e não o conheceram, mas fizeram-lhe tudo o que quizeram. Assim padecerá tambem d'elles o Filho do homem.
13 Then the disciples perceiued that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist.
Então entenderam os discipulos que lhes fallara de João Baptista.
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, and fell downe at his feete,
E, quando chegaram á multidão, approximou-se-lhe um homem, pondo-se de joelhos diante d'elle, e dizendo:
15 And saide, Master, haue pitie on my sonne: for he is lunatike, and is sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft times into the water.
Senhor, tem misericordia de meu filho, que é lunatico e soffre muito; pois muitas vezes cae no fogo, e muitas vezes na agua;
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heale him.
E trouxe-o aos teus discipulos; e não poderam cural-o.
17 Then Iesus answered, and said, O generation faithlesse, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! howe long nowe shall I suffer you! bring him hither to me.
E Jesus, respondendo, disse: Ó geração incredula e perversa! até quando estarei eu comvosco, e até quando vos soffrerei? Trazei-m'o aqui
18 And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and he went out of him: and the childe was healed at that houre.
E reprehendeu Jesus o demonio, e saiu d'elle, e desde aquella hora o menino sarou.
19 Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Então os discipulos, approximando-se de Jesus em particular, disseram: Porque não podémos nós expulsal-o?
20 And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith as much as is a graine of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine, Remooue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you.
E Jesus lhes disse: Por causa da vossa pouca fé; porque em verdade vos digo que, se tivesseis fé como um grão de mostarda, dirieis a este monte: Passa d'aqui para acolá: e havia de passar; e nada vos seria impossivel.
21 Howbeit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
Mas esta casta de demonios não se expulsa senão pela oração e por jejum.
22 And they being in Galile, Iesus said vnto them, The Sonne of man shall be deliuered into the handes of men,
Ora, achando-se elles na Galilea, disse-lhes Jesus: O Filho do homem será entregue nas mãos dos homens;
23 And they shall kill him, but the thirde day shall he rise againe: and they were very sorie.
E matal-o-hão, e ao terceiro dia resuscitará. E elles se entristeceram muito.
24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued polle money, came to Peter, and sayd, Doeth not your Master pay polle money?
E, chegando elles a Capernaum, approximaram-se de Pedro os que cobravam as didrachmas, e disseram: O vosso mestre não paga as didrachmas?
25 He sayd, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whome doe the Kings of the earth take tribute, or polle money? of their children, or of strangers?
Disse elle: Sim. E, entrando em casa, Jesus se lhe antecipou, dizendo: Que te parece, Simão? De quem cobram os reis da terra os tributos, ou o censo? Dos seus filhos, ou dos alheios?
26 Peter sayd vnto him, Of strangers. Then said Iesus vnto him, Then are the children free.
Disse-lhe Pedro: Dos alheios. Disse-lhe Jesus: Logo, são livres os filhos:
27 Neuerthelesse, lest we should offend them: goe to the sea, and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that commeth vp, and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt finde a piece of twentie pence: that take, and giue it vnto them for me and thee.
Mas, para que os não escandalizemos, vae ao mar, lança o anzol, tira o primeiro peixe que subir, e, abrindo-lhe a bocca, encontrarás um státer; toma-o, e dá-o por mim e por ti.
