Luke 20
1 And it came to passe, that on one of those dayes, as he taught the people in the Temple, and preached the Gospel, the hie Priests and the Scribes came vpon him with the Elders,
૧એક દિવસે એમ થયું કે ઈસુ ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં લોકોને બોધ આપતા અને સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરતા હતા, ત્યારે મુખ્ય યાજકો, શાસ્ત્રીઓ અને વડીલો પાસે આવીને ઊભા રહ્યા.
2 And spake vnto him, saying, Tell vs by what authoritie thou doest these things, or who is hee that hath giuen thee this authoritie?
૨તેમની સાથે વાત કરતાં તેઓએ કહ્યું કે, ‘અમને કહે કે, કયા અધિકારથી તું આ કામો કરે છે? આ અધિકાર તને કોણે આપ્યો છે?’”
3 And he answered, and sayde vnto them, I also will aske you one thing: tell me therefore:
૩ઈસુએ તેઓને જવાબ આપતા કહ્યું કે, ‘હું પણ તમને એક વાત પૂછું છું, તે મને કહો
4 The baptisme of Iohn, was it from heauen, or of men?
૪યોહાનનું બાપ્તિસ્મા સ્વર્ગથી હતું કે માણસોથી?’”
5 And they reasoned within themselues, saying, If we shall say, From heauen, he will say, Why then beleeued ye him not?
૫તેઓએ અંદરોઅંદર વિચાર કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘જો કહીએ કે સ્વર્ગથી, તો તે કહેશે, તો તમે તેના પર કેમ વિશ્વાસ કર્યો નહિ?
6 But if we shall say, Of men, all the people will stone vs: for they be perswaded that Iohn was a Prophet.
૬અને જો કહીએ કે ‘માણસોથી’, તો બધા લોકો આપણને પથ્થર મારશે, કેમ કે તેઓને ખાતરી છે કે યોહાન પ્રબોધક હતો.’”
7 Therefore they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.
૭તેઓએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો કે, ‘તે ક્યાંથી હતું એ અમે નથી જાણતા.’”
8 Then Iesus sayd vnto them, Neither tell I you, by what authoritie I doe these things.
૮ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, “હું પણ તમને કહેતો નથી કે કયા અધિકારથી હું આ કામો કરું છું.’”
9 Then began he to speake to ye people this parable, A certaine man planted a vineyarde, and let it forth to husbandmen: and went into a strange countrey, for a great time.
૯તે લોકોને આ દ્રષ્ટાંત કહેવા લાગ્યા કે, ‘એક માણસે દ્રાક્ષાવાડી રોપી, અને તે ખેડૂતોને ભાડે આપી, પછી લાંબા સમય સુધી તે પરદેશ જઈને રહ્યો.
10 And at the time conuenient he sent a seruant to the husbandmen, that they should giue him of the fruite of the vineyard: but the husbandmen did beate him, and sent him away emptie.
૧૦મોસમે તેણે ખેડૂતોની પાસે એક નોકરને મોકલ્યો કે તેઓ દ્રાક્ષાવાડીના ફળનો ભાગ તેને આપે; પણ ખેડૂતોએ તેને મારીને ખાલી હાથે પાછો મોકલ્યો.
11 Againe he sent yet another seruant: and they did beate him, and foule entreated him, and sent him away emptie.
૧૧પછી તેણે બીજા એક ચાકરને મોકલ્યો; તેઓએ તેને પણ મારીને તથા અપમાન કરીને ખાલી હાથે કાઢી મૂક્યો.
12 Moreouer he sent the third, and him they wounded, and cast out.
૧૨તેણે ત્રીજા નોકરને મોકલ્યો; અને તેઓએ તેને પણ ઘાયલ કરીને કાઢી મૂક્યો.
13 Then sayd the Lord of the vineyard, What shall I doe? I will send my beloued sonne: it may be that they will doe reuerence, when they see him.
૧૩દ્રાક્ષાવાડીના માલિકે કહ્યું કે, ‘હું શું કરું? હું મારા વહાલા દીકરાને મોકલીશ, તેને જોઈને કદાપિ તેઓ તેનું માન રાખે.’”
14 But when the husbandmen sawe him, they reasoned with themselues, saying, This is the heire: come, let vs kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
૧૪પણ ખેડૂતોએ જયારે તેને જોયો ત્યારે તેઓએ માંહોમાંહે મનસૂબો કરીને કહ્યું કે, આ વારસ છે, ચાલો, આપણે તેને મારી નાખીએ કે વારસો આપણો થાય.
15 So they cast him out of the vineyarde, and killed him. What shall the Lord of the vineyarde therefore doe vnto them?
૧૫તેઓએ તેને વાડીમાંથી બહાર ધકેલીને મારી નાખ્યો. માટે હવે દ્રાક્ષાવાડીનો માલિક તેઓને શું કરશે?
16 He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and wil giue out his vineyard to others. But when they heard it, they sayd, God forbid.
૧૬તે આવીને ખેડૂતોનો નાશ કરશે, અને દ્રાક્ષાવાડી બીજાઓને આપશે. અને એ સાંભળીને તેઓએ કહ્યું કે, ‘એવું ન થાઓ.’”
17 And he beheld them, and said, What meaneth this then that is written, The stone that the builders refused, that is made the head of the corner?
૧૭પણ ઈસુએ તેઓની તરફ જોઈને કહ્યું, કે ‘આ જે લખેલું છે તેનો અર્થ શો છે?, એટલે, જે પથ્થરનો બાંધનારાઓએ નકાર કર્યો તે ખૂણાનો મુખ્ય પથ્થર થયો.
18 Whosoeuer shall fall vpon that stone, shall be broken: and on whomsoeuer it shall fall, it will grinde him to pouder.
૧૮તે પથ્થર પર જે કોઈ પડશે તેના ટુકડેટુકડાં થઈ જશે, પણ જેનાં પર તે પડશે, તેને તે કચડી નાખશે.
19 Then the hie Priests, and the Scribes the same houre went about to lay hands on him: (but they feared the people) for they perceiued that he had spoken this parable against them.
૧૯શાસ્ત્રીઓએ તથા મુખ્ય યાજકોએ તે જ ઘડીએ તેમના પર હાથ નાખવાની કોશિશ કરી; પણ તેઓ લોકોથી બીધા, કેમ કે તેઓ સમજ્યા કે, તેમણે આ દ્રષ્ટાંત આપણા પર કહ્યું છે.
20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should faine themselues iust men, to take him in his talke, and to deliuer him vnto the power and authoritie of the gouernour.
૨૦તેમના પર નજર રાખીને તેઓએ ન્યાયી હોવાનો દેખાવ કરનારા જાસૂસોને મોકલ્યા, એ સારુ કે તેઓ તેમને વાતમાં પકડીને તેમને રાજ્યપાલના હવાલામાં તથા અધિકારમાં સોંપી દે.
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest, and teachest right, neither doest thou accept mans person, but teachest the way of God truely.
૨૧તેઓએ ઈસુને પૂછ્યું કે, ‘ઉપદેશક, અમે જાણીએ છીએ, કે તમે જે કહો છો અને શીખવો છો સત્ય છે, અને તમે કઈ પણ વાતથી પ્રભાવિત થતા નથી, પણ સચ્ચાઈથી ઈશ્વરનો માર્ગ શીખવો છો;
22 Is it lawfull for vs to giue Cesar tribute or no?
૨૨તો આપણે કાઈસારને કર આપવો ઉચિત છે કે નહિ?’”
23 But he perceiued their craftines, and sayd vnto them, Why tempt ye me?
૨૩પણ તેઓનું કપટ જાણીને ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે,
24 Shew me a penie. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered, and sayd, Cesars.
૨૪‘મને એક દીનાર સિક્કો દેખાડો; એના પર કોની છાપ તથા કોનો લેખ છે?’ અને તેઓએ કહ્યું કે, ‘કાઈસારનાં.’”
25 Then he sayd vnto them, Giue then vnto Cesar the things which are Cesars, and to God those which are Gods.
૨૫ત્યારે ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ‘તો જે કાઈસારનું છે તે કાઈસારને અને જે ઈશ્વરનું છે તે ઈશ્વરને ચૂકવી આપો.’”
26 And they could not reproue his saying before the people: but they marueiled at his answere, and helde their peace.
૨૬લોકોની આગળ તેઓ આ વાતમાં ઈસુને પકડી શક્યા નહિ, અને તેમના ઉત્તરથી આશ્ચર્ય પામીને તેઓ ચૂપ રહ્યા.
27 Then came to him certaine of the Sadduces (which denie that there is any resurrection) and they asked him,
૨૭સદૂકીઓ જે કહે છે કે પુનરુત્થાન નથી, તેઓમાંના કેટલાકે તેમની પાસે આવીને પૂછ્યું કે,
28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote vnto vs, If any mans brother die hauing a wife, and hee die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise vp seede vnto his brother.
૨૮‘ઉપદેશક, મૂસાએ અમારે વાસ્તે લખ્યું છે કે, જો કોઈનો ભાઈ, તેની પત્ની જીવતી છતાં, સંતાન વિના મૃત્યુ પામે, તો તેનો ભાઈ તેની પત્નીને પરણે અને પોતાના ભાઈને સારુ સંતાન ઉપજાવે.
29 Now there were seuen brethren, and the first tooke a wife, and he dyed without children.
૨૯હવે, સાત ભાઈ હતા; અને પહેલો પત્નીને પરણીને સંતાન વિના મરણ પામ્યો;
30 And the second tooke the wife, and he dyed childelesse.
૩૦પછી બીજાએ તેને પત્ની કરી અને તેના મરણ પછી
31 Then the third tooke her: and so likewise the seuen dyed, and left no children.
૩૧ત્રીજાએ તેને પત્ની કરી. એમ સાતેય ભાઈઓ નિ: સંતાન મરણ પામ્યા.
32 And last of all the woman dyed also.
૩૨પછી તે સ્ત્રી પણ મરણ પામી.
33 Therefore at the resurrection, whose wife of them shall she be? for seuen had her to wife.
૩૩તો મરણોત્થાનમાં તે તેઓમાંના કોની પત્ની થશે? કેમ કે તે સાતેયની પત્ની થઈ હતી.’”
34 Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, The children of this world marry wiues, and are married. (aiōn g165)
૩૪ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ‘આ જગતના છોકરાં પરણે છે તથા પરણાવાય છે; (aiōn g165)
35 But they which shalbe counted worthy to enioy that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry wiues, neither are married. (aiōn g165)
૩૫પણ જેઓ જગતને તથા મરેલામાંથી પુનરુત્થાન પામવાને યોગ્ય ગણાય છે, તેઓ પરણતા નથી તથા પરણાવતા નથી; (aiōn g165)
36 For they can die no more, forasmuch as they are equall vnto the Angels, and are the sonnes of God, since they are the children of the resurrection.
૩૬કેમ કે તેઓ ફરીથી મરણ પામી શકતા નથી; કારણ કે તેઓ સ્વર્ગદૂતો સમાન છે; પુનરુત્થાનના દીકરા હોવાથી તેઓ ઈશ્વરના દીકરા છે.
37 And that the dead shall rise againe, euen Moses shewed it besides the bush, when he said, The Lord is the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob.
૩૭વળી ‘ઝાડવાં’ નામના પ્રકરણમાં મૂસા પ્રભુને ઇબ્રાહિમનાં ઈશ્વર તથા ઇસહાકના ઈશ્વર તથા યાકૂબના ઈશ્વર કહે છે, ત્યારે તે પણ એવું જણાવે છે કે મૂએલાં ઉઠાડાય છે.
38 For he is not the God of the dead, but of them which liue: for all liue vnto him.
૩૮હવે તે મૂએલાના ઈશ્વર નથી, પણ જીવતાંઓના ઈશ્વર છે; કેમ કે બધા તેમને અર્થે જીવે છે.’”
39 Then certaine of the Scribes answered, and sayd, Master, thou hast well sayd.
૩૯શાસ્ત્રીઓમાંના કેટલાકે જવાબ આપતાં કહ્યું કે, ‘ઉપદેશક, તમે સાચું કહ્યું.’”
40 And after that, durst they not aske him any thing at all.
૪૦પછીથી તેમને કશું પૂછવાની તેઓની હિંમત ચાલી નહિ.
41 Then sayd he vnto them, Howe say they that Christ is Dauids sonne?
૪૧ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, ‘ખ્રિસ્ત દાઉદ નો દીકરો છે, એમ લોકો કેમ કહે છે?
42 And Dauid himselfe sayth in the booke of the Psalmes, The Lord sayd vnto my Lord, Sit at my right hand,
૪૨કેમ કે દાઉદ પોતે ગીતશાસ્ત્રમાં કહે છે કે, પ્રભુએ મારા પ્રભુને કહ્યું કે,
43 Till I shall make thine enemies thy footestoole.
૪૩હું તારા શત્રુઓને તારું પાયાસન કરું ત્યાં સુધી તું મારે જમણે હાથે બેસ.
44 Seeing Dauid called him Lord, howe is he then his sonne?
૪૪દાઉદ તો તેમને પ્રભુ કહે છે, માટે તે તેનો દીકરો કેમ હોય?’”
45 Then in the audience of all the people he sayd vnto his disciples,
૪૫સઘળા લોકોના સાંભળતાં ઈસુએ પોતાના શિષ્યોને કહ્યું કે,
46 Beware of the Scribes, which willingly go in long robes, and loue salutations in the markets, and the highest seates in the assemblies, and the chiefe roomes at feastes:
૪૬‘શાસ્ત્રીઓથી સાવધાન રહો, કેમ કે તેઓ ઝભ્ભા પહેરીને ફરવાનું, તથા ચોકમાં સલામો પામવાનું તથા સભાસ્થાનોમાં મુખ્ય આસનો તથા જમણવારમાં મુખ્ય જગ્યાઓ ચાહે છે;
47 Which deuoure widowes houses, and in shewe make long prayers: These shall receiue greater damnation.
૪૭જેઓ વિધવાઓની મિલકત પડાવી લે છે અને ઢોંગથી લાંબી પ્રાર્થનાઓ કરે છે; તેઓ વિશેષ શિક્ષા ભોગવશે.’”
