Luke 18
1 And he spake also a parable vnto them, to this ende, that they ought alwayes to pray, and not to waxe faint,
तब प्रभु येशु ने शिष्यों को यह समझाने के उद्देश्य से कि निराश हुए बिना निरंतर प्रार्थना करते रहना ही सही है, यह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया.
2 Saying, There was a iudge in a certaine citie, which feared not God, neither reuereced man.
“किसी नगर में एक न्यायाधीश था. वह न तो परमेश्वर से डरता था और न किसी को कुछ समझता था.
3 And there was a widowe in that citie, which came vnto him, saying, Doe mee iustice against mine aduersarie.
उसी नगर में एक विधवा भी थी, जो बार-बार उस न्यायाधीश के पास ‘आकर विनती करती थी कि उसे न्याय दिलाया जाए.’
4 And hee would not of a long time: but afterward he said with himselfe, Though I feare not God, nor reuerence man,
“कुछ समय तक तो वह न्यायाधीश उसे टालता रहा किंतु फिर उसने मन में विचार किया, ‘यद्यपि मैं न तो परमेश्वर से डरता हूं और न लोगों से प्रभावित होता हूं
5 Yet because this widowe troubleth mee, I will doe her right, lest at the last shee come and make me wearie.
फिर भी यह विधवा आ-आकर मेरी नाक में दम किए जा रही है. इसलिये उत्तम यही होगा कि मैं इसका न्याय कर ही दूं कि यह बार-बार आकर मेरी नाक में दम तो न करे.’”
6 And the Lord said, Heare what the vnrighteous iudge saith.
प्रभु ने आगे कहा, “उस अधर्मी न्यायाधीश के शब्दों पर ध्यान दो कि उसने क्या कहा.
7 Now shall not God auenge his elect, which cry day and night vnto him, yea, though he suffer long for them?
तब क्या परमेश्वर अपने उन चुने हुओं का न्याय न करेंगे, जो दिन-रात उनके नाम की दोहाई दिया करते हैं? क्या वह उनके संबंध में देर करेंगे?
8 I tell you he will auenge them quickly: but when the Sonne of man commeth, shall he finde faith on the earth?
सच मानो, परमेश्वर बिना देर किए उनके पक्ष में सक्रिय हो जाएंगे. फिर भी, क्या मनुष्य के पुत्र का पुनरागमन पर विश्वास बना रहेगा?”
9 He spake also this parable vnto certaine which trusted in themselues that they were iust, and despised other.
तब प्रभु येशु ने उनके लिए, जो स्वयं को तो धर्मी मानते थे परंतु अन्यों को तुच्छ दृष्टि से देखते थे, यह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया.
10 Two men went vp into the Temple to pray: the one a Pharise, and the other a Publican.
“प्रार्थना करने दो व्यक्ति मंदिर में गए, एक फ़रीसी था तथा दूसरा चुंगी लेनेवाला.
11 The Pharise stoode and prayed thus with himselfe, O God, I thanke thee that I am not as other men, extortioners, vniust, adulterers, or euen as this Publican.
फ़रीसी की प्रार्थना इस प्रकार थी: ‘परमेश्वर! मैं आपका आभारी हूं कि मैं अन्य मनुष्यों जैसा नहीं हूं—छली, अन्यायी, व्यभिचारी और न इस चुंगी लेनेवाले के जैसा.
12 I fast twise in the weeke: I giue tithe of all that euer I possesse.
मैं सप्ताह में दो बार उपवास करता हूं और अपनी सारी आय का दसवां अंश दिया करता हूं.’
13 But the Publican standing a farre off, woulde not lift vp so much as his eyes to heauen, but smote his brest, saying, O God, be mercifull to me a sinner.
“किंतु चुंगी लेनेवाला दूर ही खड़ा रहा. उसने दृष्टि तक उठाने का साहस न किया, अपने सीने पर शोक में प्रहार करते हुए उसने कहा, ‘प्रभु परमेश्वर! कृपा कीजिए मुझ पापी पर!’
14 I tell you, this man departed to his house iustified, rather then the other: for euery man that exalteth himselfe, shall be brought lowe, and he that humbleth himselfe, shalbe exalted.
“विश्वास करो वास्तव में यही चुंगी लेनेवाला (परमेश्वर से) धर्मी घोषित किया जाकर घर लौटा—न कि वह फ़रीसी. क्योंकि हर एक, जो स्वयं को बड़ा बनाता है, छोटा बना दिया जाएगा तथा जो व्यक्ति स्वयं नम्र हो जाता है, वह ऊंचा उठाया जाता है.”
15 They brought vnto him also babes that he should touche them. And when his disciples sawe it, they rebuked them.
लोग अपने बालकों को प्रभु येशु के पास ला रहे थे कि प्रभु येशु उन्हें स्पर्श मात्र कर दें. शिष्य यह देख उन्हें डांटने लगे.
16 But Iesus called them vnto him, and said, Suffer the babes to come vnto mee, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdome of God.
प्रभु येशु ने बालकों को अपने पास बुलाते हुए कहा, “नन्हे बालकों को मेरे पास आने दो. मत रोको उन्हें! क्योंकि परमेश्वर का राज्य ऐसों ही का है.
17 Verely I say vnto you, whosoeuer receiueth not the kingdome of God as a babe, he shall not enter therein.
मैं तुम पर एक अटल सच्चाई प्रकट कर रहा हूं; जो परमेश्वर के राज्य को एक नन्हे बालक के भाव में ग्रहण नहीं करता, वह उसमें कभी प्रवेश न कर पाएगा.”
18 Then a certaine ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what ought I to doe, to inherite eternall life? (aiōnios g166)
एक प्रधान ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “उत्तम गुरु! अनंत काल के जीवन को पाने के लिए मैं क्या करूं?” (aiōnios g166)
19 And Iesus said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, saue one, euen God.
“उत्तम मुझे क्यों कह रहे हो?” प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “परमेश्वर के अलावा उत्तम कोई भी नहीं है.
20 Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnes: Honour thy father and thy mother.
आज्ञा तो तुम्हें मालूम ही हैं: व्यभिचार न करना, हत्या न करना, चोरी न करना, झूठी गवाही न देना, अपने माता-पिता का सम्मान करना.”
21 And hee saide, All these haue I kept from my youth.
“इन सबका पालन तो मैं बचपन से करता आ रहा हूं,” उसने उत्तर दिया.
22 Nowe when Iesus heard that, he saide vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that euer thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come follow mee.
यह सुन प्रभु येशु ने उससे कहा, “एक कमी फिर भी है तुममें. अपनी सारी संपत्ति बेचकर निर्धनों में बांट दो. धन तुम्हें स्वर्ग में प्राप्त होगा. तब आकर मेरे पीछे हो लो.”
23 But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.
यह सुन वह प्रधान बहुत दुःखी हो गया क्योंकि वह बहुत धनी था.
24 And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!
उसे देखकर प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “धनवानों का परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश कैसा कठिन है!
25 Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.
एक धनी के परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करने की तुलना में सुई के छेद में से ऊंट का पार हो जाना सरल है.”
26 Then said they that heard it, And who then can be saued?
इस पर सुननेवाले पूछने लगे, “तब किसका उद्धार संभव है?”
27 And he said, The things which are vnpossible with men, are possible with God.
प्रभु येशु ने उत्तर दिया, “जो मनुष्य के लिए असंभव है, वह परमेश्वर के लिए संभव है.”
28 Then Peter said, Loe, we haue left all, and haue followed thee.
पेतरॉस ने प्रभु येशु से कहा, “हम तो अपना घरबार छोड़कर आपके पीछे चल रहे हैं.”
29 And he said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children for the kingdome of Gods sake,
प्रभु येशु ने इसके उत्तर में कहा, “सच तो यह है कि ऐसा कोई भी नहीं, जिसने परमेश्वर के राज्य के लिए अपनी घर-गृहस्थी, पत्नी, भाई, बहन, माता-पिता या संतान का त्याग किया हो
31 Then Iesus tooke vnto him ye twelue, and said vnto them, Beholde, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and all things shalbe fulfilled to the Sonne of man, that are writttn by the Prophets.
तब प्रभु येशु ने बारहों शिष्यों को अलग ले जाकर उन पर प्रकट किया, “हम येरूशलेम नगर जा रहे हैं. भविष्यद्वक्ताओं द्वारा मनुष्य के पुत्र के विषय में जो भी लिखा गया है, वह पूरा होने पर है,
32 For he shall be deliuered vnto the Gentiles, and shalbe mocked, and shalbe spitefully entreated, and shalbe spitted on.
उसे अन्यजातियों को सौंप दिया जाएगा. उसका उपहास किया जाएगा, उसे अपमानित किया जाएगा, उस पर थूका जाएगा.
33 And when they haue scourged him, they will put him to death: but the thirde day hee shall rise againe.
उसे कोड़े लगाने के बाद वे उसे मार डालेंगे और वह तीसरे दिन मरे हुओं में से जीवित हो जाएगा.”
34 But they vnderstood none of these things, and this saying was hidde from them, neither perceiued they the things, which were spoken.
शिष्यों को कुछ भी समझ में न आया. उनसे इसका अर्थ छिपाकर रखा गया था. इस विषय में प्रभु येशु की कही बातें शिष्यों की समझ से परे थी.
35 And it came to passe, that as he was come neere vnto Iericho, a certaine blinde man sate by the way side, begging.
जब प्रभु येशु येरीख़ो नगर के पास पहुंचे, उन्हें एक अंधा मिला, जो मार्ग के किनारे बैठा हुआ भिक्षा मांग रहा था.
36 And when he heard the people passe by, he asked what it meant.
भीड़ का शोर सुनकर उसने जानना चाहा कि क्या हो रहा है.
37 And they saide vnto him, that Iesus of Nazareth passed by.
उन्होंने उसे बताया, “नाज़रेथ के येशु यहां से होकर जा निकल रहें हैं.”
38 Then hee cried, saying, Iesus the Sonne of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
वह अंधा पुकार उठा, “येशु! दावीद की संतान! मुझ पर दया कीजिए!”
39 And they which went before, rebuked him that he shoulde holde his peace, but he cried much more, O Sone of Dauid, haue mercie on me.
उन्होंने, जो आगे-आगे चल रहे थे, उसे डांटा और उसे शांत रहने की आज्ञा दी. इस पर वह और भी ऊंचे शब्द में पुकारने लगा, “दावीद के पुत्र! मुझ पर कृपा कीजिए!”
40 And Iesus stoode stil, and commanded him to be brought vnto him. And when he was come neere, he asked him,
प्रभु येशु रुक गए और उन्हें आज्ञा दी कि वह व्यक्ति उनके पास लाया जाए. जब वह उनके पास लाया गया, प्रभु येशु ने उससे प्रश्न किया,
41 Saying, What wilt thou that I doe vnto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receiue my sight.
“क्या चाहते हो? मैं तुम्हारे लिए क्या करूं?” “प्रभु मैं देखना चाहता हूं!” उसने उत्तर दिया.
42 And Iesus said vnto him, Receiue thy sight: thy faith hath saued thee.
प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “रोशनी प्राप्त करो. तुम्हारे विश्वास ने तुम्हें स्वस्थ किया है.”
43 Then immediatly he receiued his sight, and followed him, praysing God: and all the people, when they sawe this, gaue praise to God.
तत्काल ही वह देखने लगा. परमेश्वर की वंदना करते हुए वह प्रभु येशु के पीछे चलने लगा. यह देख सारी भीड़ भी परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करने लगी.
