Leviticus 18
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
L'Eternel parla encore à Moïse, en disant:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say vnto them, I am the Lord your God.
Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et leur dis: Je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
3 After ye doings of the land of Egypt, wherin ye dwelt, shall ye not doe: and after the maner of the land of Canaan, whither I will bring you, shall ye not do, neither walke in their ordinances,
Vous ne ferez point ce qui se fait au pays d'Egypte où vous avez habité, ni ce qui se fait au pays de Canaan, auquel je vous amène; et vous ne vivrez point selon leurs statuts.
4 But do after my iudgements, and keepe mine ordinances, to walke therein: I am the Lord your God.
[Mais] vous ferez selon mes statuts, et vous garderez mes ordonnances pour marcher en elles; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
5 Ye shall keepe therefore my statutes, and my iudgements, which if a man doe, he shall then liue in them: I am the Lord.
Vous garderez donc mes statuts, et mes ordonnances, lesquelles [si] l'homme accomplit, il vivra par elles; je suis l'Eternel.
6 None shall come neere to any of ye kinred of his flesh to vncouer her shame: I am the Lord.
Que nul ne s'approche de celle qui [est] sa proche parente pour découvrir sa nudité; je suis l'Eternel.
7 Thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy father, nor the shame of thy mother: for she is thy mother, thou shalt not discouer her shame.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ton père, ni la nudité de ta mère; c'[est] ta mère, tu ne découvriras point sa nudité.
8 The shame of thy fathers wife shalt thou not discouer: for it is thy fathers shame.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton père; c'est la nudité de ton père.
9 Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy sister the daughter of thy father, or the daughter of thy mother, whether shee bee borne at home, or borne without: thou shalt not discouer their shame.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ta sœur, fille de ton père, ou fille de ta mère, née dans la maison, ou hors [de la maison]; tu ne découvriras point leur nudité.
10 The shame of thy sonnes daughter, or of thy daughters daughter, thou shalt not, I say, vncouer their shame: for it is thy shame.
Quant à la nudité de la fille de ton fils, ou de la fille de ta fille, tu ne découvriras point leur nudité, car elles sont ta nudité.
11 The shame of thy fathers wiues daughter, begotten of thy father (for she is thy sister) thou shalt not, I say, discouer her shame.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la fille de la femme de ton père, née de ton père, c'est ta sœur.
12 Thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy fathers sister: for she is thy fathers kinswoman.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ton père; elle est proche parente de ton père.
13 Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy mothers sister: for she is thy mothers kinsewoman.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ta mère; car elle est proche parente de ta mère.
14 Thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy fathers brother: that is, thou shalt not goe in to his wife, for she is thine aunte.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité du frère de ton père, [et] ne t'approcheras point de sa femme; elle est ta tante.
15 Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy daughter in lawe: for she is thy sonnes wife: therefore shalt thou not vncouer her shame.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ta belle-fille; elle est la femme de ton fils, tu ne découvriras point sa nudité.
16 Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy brothers wife. for it is thy brothers shame.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton frère, c'est la nudité de ton frère.
17 Thou shalt not discouer the shame of the wife and of her daughter, neither shalt thou take her sonnes daughter, nor her daughters daughter, to vncouer her shame: for they are thy kinsfolkes, and it were wickednesse.
Tu ne découvriras point la nudité d'une femme et de sa fille, et ne prendras point la fille de son fils, ni la fille de sa fille pour découvrir leur nudité, elles sont tes proches parentes; c'est une énormité.
18 Also thou shalt not take a wife with her sister, during her life, to vexe her, in vncouering her shame vpon her.
Tu ne prendras point aussi une femme avec sa sœur pour l'affliger en découvrant sa nudité sur elle, pendant sa vie.
19 Thou shalt not also go vnto a woman to vncouer her shame, as long as she is put apart for her disease.
Tu n'approcheras point de la femme durant la séparation de sa souillure, pour découvrir sa nudité.
20 Moreouer, thou shalt not giue thy selfe to thy neighbours wife by carnall copulation, to be defiled with her.
Tu n'auras point aussi la compagnie de la femme de ton prochain, te souillant avec elle.
21 Also thou shalt not giue thy children to offer them vnto Molech, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God: for I am the Lord.
Tu ne donneras point de tes enfants pour les faire passer [par le feu] devant Molec, et tu ne profaneras point le Nom de ton Dieu; je suis l'Eternel.
22 Thou shalt not lie with ye male as one lieth with a woman: for it is abomination.
Tu n'auras point aussi la compagnie d'un mâle; c'est une abomination.
23 Thou shalt not also lie with any beast to bee defiled therewith, neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie downe thereto: for it is abomination.
Tu ne t'approcheras point aussi d'aucune bête pour te souiller avec elle; et la femme ne se prostituera point à une bête; c'est une confusion.
24 Yee shall not defile your selues in any of these things: for in al these the nations are defiled, which I will cast out before you:
Ne vous souillez point en aucune de ces choses; car les nations que je m'en vais chasser de devant vous, se sont souillées en toutes ces choses;
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I wil visit the wickednesse thereof vpon it, and the lande shall vomit out her inhabitants.
Dont la terre a été souillée, et je m'en vais punir sur elle son iniquité, et la terre vomira ses habitants.
26 Ye shall keepe therefore mine ordinances, and my iudgements, and commit none of these abominations, aswell hee that is of the same countrey, as the straunger that soiourneth among you.
Mais quant à vous, vous garderez mes ordonnances et mes jugements, et vous ne ferez aucune de ces abominations, tant celui qui est né au pays, que l'étranger qui fait son séjour parmi vous.
27 (For all these abominations haue the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled:
Car les gens de ce pays-là qui ont été avant vous, ont fait toutes ces abominations, et la terre en a été souillée.
28 And shall not the lande spue you out if ye defile it, as it spued out the people that were before you?)
La terre ne vous vomirait-elle point, si vous la souilliez, comme elle aura vomi les gens qui y ont été avant vous?
29 For whosoeuer shall commit any of these abominations, the persons that doe so, shall bee cut off from among their people.
Car quiconque fera aucune de toutes ces abominations, les personnes qui les auront faites seront retranchées du milieu de leur peuple.
30 Therefore shall yee keepe mine ordinances that ye do not any of the abominable customes, which haue bene done before you, and that yee defile not your selues therein: for I am the Lord your God.
Vous garderez donc ce que j'ai ordonné de garder, et vous ne pratiquerez aucune de ces coutumes abominables qui ont été pratiquées avant vous, et vous ne vous souillerez point par elles; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
