Leviticus 11
1 After, the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying vnto them,
L'Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, en leur disant:
2 Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say, These are the beastes which yee shall eate, among all the beasts that are on the earth.
Parlez aux enfants d'Israël, et dites: Voici les animaux que vous mangerez, d'entre toutes les bêtes qui sont sur la terre:
3 Whatsoeuer parteth the hoofe, and is clouen footed, and cheweth the cudde, among the beastes, that shall ye eate.
Vous mangerez parmi le bétail tout ce qui a l'ongle divisé et le pied fourché, et qui rumine;
4 But of them that chewe the cud, or deuide the hoofe onely, of them yee shall not eate: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not ye hoofe, he shall be vncleane vnto you.
Mais vous ne mangerez point d'entre celles qui ruminent, et d'entre celles qui ont l'ongle divisé: le chameau, car il rumine, mais il n'a point l'ongle divisé; il vous sera souillé;
5 Likewise the conie, because he cheweth the cud and deuideth not the hoofe, he shall bee vncleane to you.
Le lapin, car il rumine, mais il n'a point l'ongle divisé; il vous sera souillé;
6 Also the hare, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not the hoofe, he shalbe vncleane to you.
Le lièvre, car il rumine, mais il n'a point l'ongle divisé; il vous sera souillé;
7 And the swine, because he parteth ye hoofe and is clouen footed, but cheweth not the cud, he shalbe vncleane to you.
Le porc, car il a l'ongle divisé et le pied fourché, mais il ne rumine pas; il vous sera souillé;
8 Of their flesh shall yee not eate, and their carkeise shall yee not touch: for they shall bee vncleane to you.
Vous ne mangerez point de leur chair, vous ne toucherez point leur cadavre; ils vous seront souillés.
9 These shall ye eate, of all that are in the waters: whatsoeuer hath finnes and skales in ye waters, in the seas, or in the riuers, them shall ye eate.
Voici ce que vous mangerez de tout ce qui est dans les eaux: Vous mangerez tout ce qui a des nageoires et des écailles, dans les eaux, dans les mers, et dans les rivières;
10 But all that haue not finnes nor skales in the seas, or in the riuers, of all that moueth in the waters, and of al liuing things that are in the waters, they shalbe an abomination vnto you.
Mais tout ce qui n'a point de nageoires ni d'écailles, dans les mers et dans les rivières, parmi tout ce qui fourmille dans les eaux, et parmi tout être vivant dans les eaux, vous sera en abomination.
11 They, I say, shalbe an abomination to you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, but shall abhorre their carkeis.
Ils vous seront en abomination; vous ne mangerez point de leur chair, et vous tiendrez pour abominable leur cadavre.
12 Whatsoeuer hath not fins nor skales in the waters, that shalbe abomination vnto you.
Tout ce qui n'a pas de nageoires et d'écailles dans les eaux, vous sera en abomination.
13 These shall ye haue also in abomination among the foules, they shall not be eaten: for they are an abomination, the eagle, and the goshauke, and the osprey:
Et voici parmi les oiseaux ceux que vous tiendrez pour abominables; on ne les mangera pas, c'est une abomination: l'aigle, l'orfraie, et le vautour;
14 Also the vultur, and the kite after his kinde,
Le milan et le faucon, selon leur espèce;
15 And all rauens after their kinde:
Toute espèce de corbeau;
16 The ostrich also, and the night crowe, and the seameaw, and the hauke after his kinde:
Le chat-huant, le coucou, la mouette, l'épervier et ce qui est de son espèce;
17 The litle owle also, and the connorant, and the great owle.
La chouette, le plongeon, et le hibou;
18 Also the redshanke and the pelicane, and the swanne:
Le cygne, le pélican, le cormoran;
19 The storke also, the heron after his kinde, and the lapwing, and the backe:
La cigogne, le héron, et ce qui est de son espèce; la huppe et la chauve-souris.
20 Also euery foule that creepeth and goeth vpon all foure, such shalbe an abomination vnto you.
Tout reptile qui vole et qui marche sur quatre pieds vous sera en abomination.
21 Yet these shall ye eate: of euery foule that creepeth, and goeth vpon all foure which haue their feete and legs all of one to leape withal vpon the earth,
Mais de tout reptile qui vole et qui marche sur quatre pieds, vous mangerez ceux qui ont des jambes au-dessus de leurs pieds, pour sauter sur la terre.
22 Of them ye shall eate these, the grashopper after his kinde, and the solean after his kinde, the hargol after his kinde, and the hagab after his kind.
Voici ceux que vous mangerez: la sauterelle selon son espèce, le solam selon son espèce, le hargol selon son espèce, et le hagab selon son espèce.
23 But al other foules that creepe and haue foure feete, they shalbe abomination vnto you.
Tout autre reptile qui vole et qui a quatre pieds, vous sera en abomination.
24 For by such ye shalbe polluted: whosoeuer toucheth their carkeis, shalbe vncleane vnto the euening.
Vous serez souillés à cause d'eux; quiconque touchera leur cadavre, sera souillé jusqu'au soir.
25 Whosoeuer also beareth of their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil euen.
Et quiconque portera leur corps mort, lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu'au soir.
26 Euery beast that hath clawes deuided, and is not clouen footed, nor cheweth the cud, such shalbe vncleane vnto you: euery one that toucheth them, shalbe vncleane.
Toute bête qui a l'ongle divisé, et qui n'a point le pied fourché, et ne rumine pas, vous sera souillée; quiconque la touchera, sera souillé.
27 And whatsoeuer goeth vpon his pawes among all maner beastes that goeth on all foure, such shalbe vncleane vnto you: who so doth touch their carkeis shalbe vncleane vntil the euen.
Et tout ce qui marche sur ses pattes, entre tous les animaux qui marchent sur quatre pieds, vous sera souillé; quiconque en touchera le corps mort, sera souillé jusqu'au soir.
28 And he that beareth their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntill the euen: for such shalbe vncleane vnto you.
Et quiconque portera leur corps mort, lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu'au soir; ces animaux vous seront souillés.
29 Also these shalbe vncleane to you amog the things that creepe and moue vpon the earth, the weasell, and the mouse, and the frog, after his kinde:
Et voici ce qui sera souillé pour vous parmi les animaux qui rampent sur la terre: la taupe, la souris et le lézard, selon leur espèce,
30 Also the rat, and the lizard, and the chameleon, and the stellio, and the molle.
La musaraigne, la grenouille, la tortue, la limace et le caméléon.
31 These shall be vncleane to you among all that creepe: whosoeuer doeth touch them when they be dead, shalbe vncleane vntil the euen.
Ceux-là sont souillés pour vous entre tous les reptiles; quiconque les touchera morts, sera souillé jusqu'au soir.
32 Also whatsoeuer any of the dead carkeises of them doth fall vpon, shalbe vncleane, whether it be vessel of wood, or rayment, or skinne, or sacke: whatsoeuer vessel it be that is occupied, it shalbe put in the water as vncleane vntil the euen, and so be purified.
Tout objet sur lequel il en tombera quand ils seront morts, sera souillé, ustensile de bois, vêtement, peau, sac, tout objet dont on fait usage; il sera mis dans l'eau, et sera souillé jusqu'au soir, puis il sera pur.
33 But euery earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoeuer is within it shalbe vncleane, and ye shall breake it.
Et s'il en tombe quelque chose dans un vase de terre, tout ce qui se trouvera dedans sera souillé, et vous briserez le vase.
34 Al meate also that shalbe eaten, if any such water come vpon it, shalbe vncleane: and all drinke that shalbe drunke in al such vessels shalbe vncleane.
Tout aliment qu'on mange, sur lequel il sera tombé de cette eau, sera souillé; et tout breuvage qu'on boit, dans quelque vase que ce soit, en sera souillé.
35 And euery thing that their carkeis fall vpon, shalbe vncleane: the fornais or the pot shalbe broken: for they are vncleane, and shalbe vncleane vnto you.
Tout objet sur lequel tombera quelque chose de leur corps mort, sera souillé; le four et le foyer seront détruits; ils sont souillés, et ils vous seront souillés.
36 Yet the fountaines and welles where there is plentie of water shalbe cleane: but that which toucheth their carkeises shalbe vncleane.
Toutefois une source ou une citerne, formant amas d'eau, seront pures; mais qui touchera leur corps mort sera souillé.
37 And if there fal of their dead carkeis vpon any seede, which vseth to be sowe, it shalbe cleane.
Et s'il tombe quelque chose de leur corps mort sur quelque semence que l'on sème, elle sera pure.
38 But if any water be powred vpon ye seede, and there fal of their dead carkeis thereon, it shall be vncleane vnto you.
Mais si l'on a mis de l'eau sur la semence, et qu'il y tombe quelque chose de leur corps mort, elle vous sera souillée.
39 If also any beast, whereof ye may eate, die, he that toucheth the carkeis thereof shall be vncleane vntil the euen.
Et quand une des bêtes qui vous sert de nourriture mourra, celui qui en touchera le cadavre, sera souillé jusqu'au soir.
40 And he that eateth of the carkeis of it, shall wash his clothes and be vncleane vntil the euen: he also that beareth the carkeis of it, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil the euen.
Celui qui mangera de son corps mort lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu'au soir; et celui qui portera son corps mort, lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu'au soir.
41 Euery creeping thing therefore that creepeth vpon the earth shalbe an abomination, and not be eaten.
Tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre est une abomination; on n'en mangera point.
42 Whatsoeuer goeth vpon the breast, and whatsoeuer goeth vpon al foure, or that hath many feete among all creeping thinges that creepe vpon the earth, ye shall not eate of them, for they shalbe abomination.
Vous ne mangerez point, parmi les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre, ceux qui marchent sur le ventre, ni ceux qui marchent sur quatre pieds, ou sur un grand nombre de pieds; car ils sont une abomination.
43 Ye shall not pollute your selues with any thing that creepeth, neither make your selues vncleane with them, neither defile your selues thereby: ye shall not, I say, be defiled by them,
Ne rendez point vos personnes abominables par aucun reptile qui rampe, ne vous rendez point impurs par eux, ne vous souillez point par eux.
44 For I am the Lord your God: be sanctified therefore, and be holy, for I am holy, and defile not your selues with any creeping thing, that creepeth vpon the earth.
Car je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu; vous vous sanctifierez, et vous serez saints; car je suis saint. Et vous ne souillerez point vos personnes par aucun de ces reptiles qui rampent sur la terre.
45 For I am the Lord that brought you out of the lande of Egypt, to be your God, and that you should be holy, for I am holy.
Car je suis l'Éternel, qui vous ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte, pour être votre Dieu; vous serez saints, car je suis saint.
46 This is the law of beasts, and of foules, and of euery liuing thing that moueth in the waters, and of euery thing that creepeth vpon the earth:
Telle est la loi touchant le bétail, les oiseaux, tout être vivant qui se meut dans les eaux, et pour tout être qui rampe sur la terre,
47 That there may be a difference betweene the vncleane and cleane, and betweene the beast that may be eaten, and the beast that ought not to be eaten.
Afin de discerner entre ce qui est souillé et ce qui est pur, entre l'animal qui se mange et celui qui ne se mange pas.
