Judges 2
1 And an Angel of the Lord came vp from Gilgal to Bochim, and sayd, I made you to go vp out of Egypt, and haue brought you vnto the land which I had sworne vnto your fathers, and sayd, I wil neuer breake my couenant with you.
Y el ángel del SEÑOR subió de Gilgal a Boquim, y dijo: Yo os saqué de Egipto, y os introduje en la tierra de la cual había jurado a vuestros padres; y dije: No invalidaré jamás mi pacto con vosotros;
2 Ye also shall make no couenant with the inhabitants of this land, but shall breake downe their altars: but ye haue not obeyed my voyce. Why haue ye done this?
con tal que vosotros no hagáis alianza con los moradores de esta tierra, antes habéis de destruir sus altares; mas vosotros no habéis oído mi voz; ¿por qué habéis hecho esto?
3 Wherefore, I sayd also, I wil not cast them out before you, but they shalbe as thornes vnto your sides, and their gods shalbe your destruction.
Por tanto yo también dije: No los echaré de delante de vosotros, sino que os serán por azote para vuestros costados, y sus dioses por tropezadero.
4 And when the Angel of the Lord spake these wordes vnto all the children of Israel, the people lift vp their voyce, and wept.
Y cuando el ángel del SEÑOR habló estas palabras a todos los hijos de Israel, el pueblo lloró en alta voz.
5 Therefore they called the name of that place, Bochim, and offered sacrifices there vnto the Lord.
Y llamaron por nombre aquel lugar Boquim; y sacrificaron allí al SEÑOR.
6 Now when Ioshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel went euery man into his inheritance, to possesse the land.
Porque ya Josué había despedido al pueblo, y los hijos de Israel se habían ido cada uno a su herencia para poseerla.
7 And the people had serued the Lord al the dayes of Ioshua, and all the dayes of the Elders that outliued Ioshua, which had seene all the great works of the Lord that he did for Israel.
Y el pueblo había servido al SEÑOR todo el tiempo de Josué, y todo el tiempo de los ancianos que vivieron largos días después de Josué, los cuales habían visto todas las grandes obras del SEÑOR, que el había hecho con Israel.
8 But Ioshua the sonne of Nun the seruant of the Lord dyed, when he was an hundreth and ten yeeres olde:
Y murió Josué hijo de Nun, siervo del SEÑOR, siendo de ciento diez años.
9 And they buryed him in the coastes of his inheritance, in Timnath-heres in mount Ephraim, on the Northside of mount Gaash.
Y lo enterraron en el término de su heredad en Timnat-sera, en el monte de Efraín, al norte del monte de Gaas.
10 And so all that generation was gathered vnto their fathers, and another generation arose after them, which neither knewe the Lord, nor yet the works, which he had done for Israel.
Y toda aquella generación fue también recogida con sus padres. Y se levantó después de ellos otra generación, que no conocía al SEÑOR, ni la obra que él había hecho a Israel.
11 Then the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, and serued Baalim,
Y los hijos de Israel hicieron lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, y sirvieron a los baales.
12 And forsooke ye Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the lande of Egypt, and followed other gods, euen the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed vnto them, and prouoked the Lord to anger.
Y dejaron al SEÑOR el Dios de sus padres, que los había sacado de la tierra de Egipto, y se fueron tras otros dioses, tras los dioses de los pueblos que estaban en sus alrededores, a los cuales adoraron; y provocaron a ira al SEÑOR.
13 So they forsooke the Lord, and serued Baal, and Ashtaroth.
Y dejaron al SEÑOR, y adoraron a Baal y a Astarot.
14 And the wrath of the Lord was hote against Israel, and he deliuered them into the hands of spoylers, that spoyled them, and he sold them into the handes of their enemies rounde about them, so that they could no longer stande before their enemies.
Y el furor del SEÑOR se encendió contra Israel, el cual los entregó en manos de robadores que les robaron, y los vendió en manos de sus enemigos de alrededor; y no pudieron parar más delante de sus enemigos.
15 Whithersoeuer they went out, the hand of the Lord was sore against them, as ye Lord had sayd, and as the Lord had sworne vnto them: so he punished them sore.
Por dondequiera que salían, la mano del SEÑOR era contra ellos para mal, como el SEÑOR había dicho, y como el SEÑOR se lo había jurado; así los afligió en gran manera.
16 Notwithstanding, the Lord raysed vp Iudges, which deliuered them out of the hands of their oppressours.
Mas el SEÑOR despertó jueces que los librasen de mano de los que les saqueaban.
17 But yet they would not obey their Iudges: for they went a whoring after other gods, and worshipped them, and turned quickly out of the way, wherein their fathers walked, obeying the commandements of the Lord: they did not so.
Y tampoco oyeron a sus jueces, sino que fornicaron tras dioses ajenos, a los cuales adoraron; y se apartaron presto del camino en que anduvieron sus padres escuchando los mandamientos del SEÑOR; mas ellos no hicieron así.
18 And when the Lord had raysed them vp Iudges, the Lord was with the Iudge, and deliuered them out of the hande of their enemies all the dayes of the Iudge (for the Lord had compassion on their gronings, because of them that oppressed them and tormented them)
Y cuando el SEÑOR les despertaba jueces, el SEÑOR era con el juez, y los libraba de mano de los enemigos todo el tiempo de aquel juez; porque el SEÑOR se arrepentía por sus gemidos a causa de los que los oprimían y afligían.
19 Yet when the Iudge was dead, they returned, and did worse then their fathers, in following other gods to serue them and worshippe them: they ceased not from their owne inuentions, nor from their rebellious way.
Mas al morir el juez, ellos se tornaban, y se corrompían más que sus padres, siguiendo a dioses ajenos para servirles, e inclinándose delante de ellos; y nada disminuían de sus obras, ni de su obstinado camino.
20 Wherfore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sayd, Because this people hath transgressed my couenant, which I commaded their fathers, and hath not obeyed my voyce,
Y la ira del SEÑOR se encendió contra Israel, y dijo: Pues que esta gente traspasa mi pacto que ordené a sus padres, y no escuchen mi voz,
21 Therefore will I no more cast out before them any of the nations, which Ioshua left when he dyed,
tampoco yo echaré más de delante de ellos a ninguno de estos gentiles que dejó Josué cuando murió;
22 That through them I may proue Israel, whether they wil keepe the way of the Lord, to walke therein, as their fathers kept it, or not.
para que por ellos probara yo a Israel, si guardarían ellos el camino del SEÑOR andando por él, como sus padres lo guardaron, o no.
23 So the Lord left those nations, and droue them not out immediatly, neither deliuered them into the hand of Ioshua.
Por esto dejó el SEÑOR aquellos gentiles, y no los desarraigó luego, ni los entregó en mano de Josué.
