Joshua 1

1 Nowe after the death of Moses the seruant of the Lord, the Lord spake vnto Ioshua the sonne of Nun, Moses minister, saying,

Sesudah Musa hamba TUHAN itu mati, berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua bin Nun, abdi Musa itu, demikian:

2 Moses my seruant is dead: nowe therefore arise, go ouer this Iorden, thou, and all this people, vnto the lande which I giue them, that is, to ye children of Israel.

"Hamba-Ku Musa telah mati; sebab itu bersiaplah sekarang, seberangilah sungai Yordan ini, engkau dan seluruh bangsa ini, menuju negeri yang akan Kuberikan kepada mereka, kepada orang Israel itu.

3 Euery place that the sole of your foote shall treade vpon, haue I giuen you, as I said vnto Moses.

Setiap tempat yang akan diinjak oleh telapak kakimu Kuberikan kepada kamu, seperti yang telah Kujanjikan kepada Musa.

4 From the wildernesse and this Lebanon euen vnto the great riuer, the riuer Perath: all the land of the Hittites, euen vnto the great Sea towarde the going downe of the sunne, shalbe your coast.

Dari padang gurun dan gunung Libanon yang sebelah sana itu sampai ke sungai besar, yakni sungai Efrat, seluruh tanah orang Het, sampai ke Laut Besar di sebelah matahari terbenam, semuanya itu akan menjadi daerahmu.

5 There shall not a man be able to withstande thee all the dayes of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leaue thee, nor forsake thee.

Seorangpun tidak akan dapat bertahan menghadapi engkau seumur hidupmu; seperti Aku menyertai Musa, demikianlah Aku akan menyertai engkau; Aku tidak akan membiarkan engkau dan tidak akan meninggalkan engkau.

6 Be strong and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou deuide the lande for an inheritance, which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them.

Kuatkan dan teguhkanlah hatimu, sebab engkaulah yang akan memimpin bangsa ini memiliki negeri yang Kujanjikan dengan bersumpah kepada nenek moyang mereka untuk diberikan kepada mereka.

7 Onely be thou strong, and of a most valiant courage, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all the Lawe which Moses my seruant hath commanded thee: thou shalt not turne away from it to the right hande, nor to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoeuer thou goest.

Hanya, kuatkan dan teguhkanlah hatimu dengan sungguh-sungguh, bertindaklah hati-hati sesuai dengan seluruh hukum yang telah diperintahkan kepadamu oleh hamba-Ku Musa; janganlah menyimpang ke kanan atau ke kiri, supaya engkau beruntung, ke manapun engkau pergi.

8 Let not this booke of the Law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therin day and night, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou haue good successe.

Janganlah engkau lupa memperkatakan kitab Taurat ini, tetapi renungkanlah itu siang dan malam, supaya engkau bertindak hati-hati sesuai dengan segala yang tertulis di dalamnya, sebab dengan demikian perjalananmu akan berhasil dan engkau akan beruntung.

9 Haue not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, feare not, nor be discouraged? for I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoeuer thou goest.

Bukankah telah Kuperintahkan kepadamu: kuatkan dan teguhkanlah hatimu? Janganlah kecut dan tawar hati, sebab TUHAN, Allahmu, menyertai engkau, ke manapun engkau pergi."

10 Then Ioshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

Lalu Yosua memberi perintah kepada pengatur-pengatur pasukan bangsa itu, katanya:

11 Passe through the hoste, and commande the people, saying, Prepare you vitailes: for after three dayes ye shall passe ouer this Iorden, to goe in to possesse the lande, which the Lord your God giueth you to possesse it.

"Jalanilah seluruh perkemahan dan perintahkanlah kepada bangsa itu, demikian: Sediakanlah bekalmu, sebab dalam tiga hari kamu akan menyeberangi sungai Yordan ini untuk pergi menduduki negeri yang akan diberikan TUHAN, Allahmu, kepadamu untuk diduduki."

12 And vnto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh spake Ioshua, saying,

Kepada orang Ruben, kepada orang Gad dan kepada suku Manasye yang setengah itu berkatalah Yosua, demikian:

13 Remember the worde, which Moses the seruant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath giuen you rest, and hath giuen you this land.

"Ingatlah kepada perkataan yang dipesankan Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, kepadamu, yakni: TUHAN, Allahmu, mengaruniakan keamanan kepadamu dan memberikan kepadamu negeri ini;

14 Your wiues, your children, and your cattell shall remaine in the land which Moses gaue you on this side Iorden: but ye shall goe ouer before your brethren armed, all that be men of warre, and shall helpe them,

perempuan-perempuan dan anak-anak di antara kamu dan ternakmu boleh tinggal di negeri yang diberikan Musa kepadamu di seberang sungai Yordan, tetapi kamu, semua pahlawan yang gagah perkasa, haruslah menyeberang di depan saudara-saudaramu dengan bersenjata, dan haruslah menolong mereka,

15 Vntill the Lord haue giuen your brethren rest, as well as to you, and vntill they also shall possesse the land, which the Lord your God giueth them: then shall ye returne vnto the lande of your possession and shall possesse it, which land Moses the Lordes seruant gaue you on this side Iorden toward the sunne rising.

sampai TUHAN mengaruniakan keamanan kepada saudara-saudaramu seperti kepada kamu juga, dan mereka juga menduduki negeri yang akan diberikan kepada mereka oleh TUHAN, Allahmu. Kemudian bolehlah kamu pulang kembali ke negerimu sendiri dan menduduki negeri yang diberikan Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, kepadamu di seberang sungai Yordan, di sebelah matahari terbit."

16 Then they answered Ioshua, saying, Al that thou hast commanded vs, we will doe, and whithersoeuer thou sendest vs, we will goe.

Lalu mereka menjawab Yosua, katanya: "Segala yang kauperintahkan kepada kami akan kami lakukan dan ke manapun kami akan kausuruh, kami akan pergi;

17 As we obeyed Moses in all things, so will we obey thee: onely the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.

sama seperti kami mendengarkan perintah Musa, demikianlah kami akan mendengarkan perintahmu. Hanya, TUHAN, Allahmu, kiranya menyertai engkau, seperti Ia menyertai Musa.

18 Whosoeuer shall rebell against thy commandement, and will not obey thy wordes in all that thou commaundest him, let him bee put to death: onely be strong and of good courage.

Setiap orang yang menentang perintahmu dan tidak mendengarkan perkataanmu, apapun yang kauperintahkan kepadanya, dia akan dihukum mati. Hanya, kuatkan dan teguhkanlah hatimu!"
