Joshua 16

1 And the lot fell to the children of Ioseph from Iorden by Iericho vnto the water of Iericho Eastward, and to the wildernes that goeth vp from Iericho by the mount Beth-el:

Und das Los fiel den Kindern Josephs vom Jordan gegen Jericho bis zum Wasser bei Jericho, von aufgangwärts, und die Wüste, die heraufgehet von Jericho durch das Gebirge Bethel;

2 And goeth out from Beth-el to Luz, and runneth along vnto the borders of Archiataroth,

und kommt von Bethel heraus gen Lus und gehet durch die Grenze Archi-Atharoths;

3 And goeth down Westward to the coast of Iaphleti, vnto the coast of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the endes thereof are at the Sea.

und zeucht sich hernieder gegen abendwärts zu der Grenze Japhletis bis an die Grenze des niedern Beth-Horon und bis gen Gaser; und das Ende ist am Meer.

4 So the children of Ioseph, Manasseh and Ephraim tooke their inheritance.

Das haben zum Erbteil genommen die Kinder Josephs, Manasse und Ephraim.

5 Also the borders of the children of Ephraim according to their families, euen the borders of their inheritance on the Eastside were Atroth-addar, vnto Beth-horon the vpper.

Die Grenze der Kinder Ephraims unter ihren Geschlechtern, ihres Erbteils von aufgangwärts, war Atharoth-Adar bis gen obern Beth-Horon;

6 And this border goeth out to the Sea vnto Michmethah on the Northside, and this border returneth Eastward vnto Taanathshiloh, and passeth it on the Eastside vnto Ianohah,

und gehet aus gegen Abend bei Michmethath, die gegen Mitternacht liegt; daselbst lenket sie sich herum gegen den Aufgang der Stadt Thaenath-Silo und gehet da durch von aufgangwärts gen Janoha;

7 And goeth downe from Ianohah to Ataroth, and Naarath, and commeth to Iericho, and goeth out at Iorden.

und kommt herab von Janoha gen Atharoth und Naaratha und stößt an Jericho und gehet aus am Jordan.

8 And this border goeth from Tappuah Westward vnto the riuer Kanah, and the endes thereof are at the Sea: this is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.

Von Thapuah gehet sie gegen abendwärts gen Nahal-Kana; und ihr Ende ist am Meer. Das ist das Erbteil des Stamms der Kinder Ephraims unter ihren Geschlechtern.

9 And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh: all the cities with their villages.

Und alle Grenzstädte samt ihren Dörfern der Kinder Ephraims waren gemenget unter dem Erbteil der Kinder Manasses.

10 And they cast not out the Canaanite that dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanite dwelt among the Ephraimites vnto this day, and serued vnder tribute.

Und sie vertrieben die Kanaaniter nicht, die zu Gaser wohneten. Also blieben die Kanaaniter unter Ephraim bis auf diesen Tag und wurden zinsbar.
