Joshua 16
1 And the lot fell to the children of Ioseph from Iorden by Iericho vnto the water of Iericho Eastward, and to the wildernes that goeth vp from Iericho by the mount Beth-el:
Die Söhne Josephs aber erhielten ihren Anteil vom Jordan gegenüber Jericho, bei dem Wasser Jerichos ostwärts, nach der Steppe zu, die sich von Jericho aus hinaufzieht auf das Gebirge nach Bethel.
2 And goeth out from Beth-el to Luz, and runneth along vnto the borders of Archiataroth,
Sodann setzt sich die Grenze fort von Bethel nach Lus, zieht sich hinüber nach dem Gebiete der Arkiter nach Ataroth,
3 And goeth down Westward to the coast of Iaphleti, vnto the coast of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the endes thereof are at the Sea.
senkt sich westwärts hinab nach dem Gebiete der Japhletiter bis zum Gebiete des unteren Beth Horon und bis Geser und endigt am Meere.
4 So the children of Ioseph, Manasseh and Ephraim tooke their inheritance.
Und die Söhne Josephs, Manasse und Ephraim, erhielten Erbbesitz.
5 Also the borders of the children of Ephraim according to their families, euen the borders of their inheritance on the Eastside were Atroth-addar, vnto Beth-horon the vpper.
Es war aber das Gebiet der verschiedenen Geschlechter der Ephraimiten folgendes. Im Osten war die grenze ihres Erbbesitzes Ateroth Addar bis zum oberen Beth Horon;
6 And this border goeth out to the Sea vnto Michmethah on the Northside, and this border returneth Eastward vnto Taanathshiloh, and passeth it on the Eastside vnto Ianohah,
sodann setzt sich die Grenze fort bis zum Meere. Im Norden war der Grenzpunkt Michmethath; und zwar wendet sich die Grenze ostwärts nach Thaanath Silo und zieht sich daran vorüber östlich von Janoha.
7 And goeth downe from Ianohah to Ataroth, and Naarath, and commeth to Iericho, and goeth out at Iorden.
Von Janoha aber zieht sie sich hinab nach Ataroth und Naarath, stößt an Jericho und endet am Jordan.
8 And this border goeth from Tappuah Westward vnto the riuer Kanah, and the endes thereof are at the Sea: this is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
Von Thappuah aus läuft die Grenze westwärts zum Bache Kana und endigt am Meere. Das ist der Erbbesitz der verschiedenen Geschlechter des Stammes der Ephraimiten.
9 And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh: all the cities with their villages.
Dazu kamen noch die ephraimitischen Städte, die abgesondert inmitten des Erbbesitzes der Manassiten lagen, sämtliche Städte mit den zugehörigen Dörfern.
10 And they cast not out the Canaanite that dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanite dwelt among the Ephraimites vnto this day, and serued vnder tribute.
Sie vertrieben jedoch nicht die Kanaaniter, die in Geser wohnten; so blieben die Kanaaniter inmitten Ephraims wohnen bis auf den heutigen Tag und wurden zu dienstbaren Fröhnern.
