John 9
1 And as Iesus passed by, he sawe a man which was blinde from his birth.
Ðức Chúa Jêsus vừa đi qua, thấy một người mù từ thuở sanh ra.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sinne, this man, or his parents, that he was borne blinde?
Môn đồ hỏi Ngài rằng: Thưa thầy ai đã phạm tội, người hay là cha mẹ người, mà người sanh ra thì mù như vậy?
3 Iesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents, but that the workes of God should be shewed on him.
Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Ðó chẳng phải tại người hay tại cha mẹ đã phạm tội; nhưng ấy để cho những việc Ðức Chúa Trời được tỏ ra trong người.
4 I must worke the workes of him that sent me, while it is day: the night commeth when no man can worke.
Trong khi còn ban ngày, ta phải làm trọn những việc của Ðấng đã sai ta đến; tối lại, thì không ai làm việc được.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Ðương khi ta còn ở thế gian, ta là sự sáng của thế gian.
6 Assoone as he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spettle, and anointed the eyes of the blinde with the clay,
Nói xong Ngài nhổ xuống đất, lấy nước miếng trộn thành bùn, và đem xức trên mắt người mù.
7 And sayd vnto him, Go wash in the poole of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came againe seeing.
Ðoạn Ngài phán cùng người rằng: Hãy đi, rửa nơi ao Si-lô-ê (nghĩa là chịu sai đi). Vậy, người đi đến ao đó, rửa, và trở lại, thì được thấy rõ.
8 Nowe the neighbours and they that had seene him before, when he was blinde, sayd, Is not this he that sate and begged?
Xóm giềng người mù và những kẻ trước kia từng thấy người đi ăn mày đều nói rằng: nầy có phải là người vẫn ngồi ăn xin đó chăng?
9 Some said, This is he: and other sayd, He is like him: but he himselfe sayd, I am he.
Người thì nói: Ấy là hắn; kẻ lại nói: Không phải, song một người nào giống hắn. Người mù nói rằng: Chính tôi đây.
10 Therefore they sayd vnto him, Howe were thine eyes opened?
Chúng bèn hỏi người rằng: Tại sao mắt ngươi đã mở được?
11 He answered, and sayd, The man that is called Iesus, made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and sayde vnto me, Goe to the poole of Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and receiued sight.
Người trả lời rằng: Người tên gọi là Jêsus kia đã hóa bùn, xức mắt tôi, và nói tôi rằng: hãy đi đến rửa nơi ao Si-lô-ê. Vậy, tôi đi đến, rửa tại đó, rồi thấy được.
12 Then they sayd vnto him, Where is he? He sayd, I can not tell.
Chúng hỏi rằng: Người ấy ở đâu. Người trả lời rằng: Tôi không biết.
13 They brought to the Pharises him that was once blinde.
Chúng dẫn người trước đã mù đó đến cùng người Pha-ri-si.
14 And it was the Sabbath day, when Iesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
Vả, ấy là ngày Sa-bát mà Ðức Chúa Jêsus đã hòa bùn và mở mắt cho người đó.
15 Then againe the Pharises also asked him, how he had receiued sight. And hee sayd vnto them, He layd clay vpon mine eyes, and I washed, and doe see.
Người Pha-ri-si lại hỏi người thế nào được sáng mắt lại. Người rằng: Người ấy rà bùn vào mắt tôi, tôi rửa rồi thấy được.
16 Then said some of the Pharises, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the Sabbath day. Others sayd, Howe can a man that is a sinner, doe such miracles? and there was a dissension among them.
Có mấy kẻ trong những người Pha-ri-si bèn nói rằng: Người nầy không phải từ Ðức Chúa Trời đến đâu vì không giữ ngày Sa-bát. Nhưng kẻ khác rằng: Một kẻ có tội làm phép lạ như vậy thể nào được? Rồi họ bèn chia phe ra.
17 Then spake they vnto the blinde againe, What sayest thou of him, because he hath opened thine eyes? And he sayd, He is a Prophet.
Bấy giờ chúng hỏi người mù nữa rằng: Còn ngươi, về người đã làm sáng mắt ngươi đó thì ngươi nói làm sao? Người trả lời rằng: Ấy là một đấng tiên tri.
18 Then the Iewes did not beleeue him (that he had bene blinde, and receiued his sight) vntill they had called the parents of him that had receiued sight.
Song le, người Giu-đa không tin rằng người ấy trước đã mù mà được sáng lại, cho đến khi gọi cha mẹ người đến.
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your sonne, whom ye say was borne blinde? How doeth he nowe see then?
Họ gạn hỏi rằng: Ðây có quả thật là con trai các ngươi mà các ngươi nói rằng nó mù từ thuở sanh ra chăng? Thế thì sao bây giờ nó sáng vậy?
20 His parents answered them, and sayd, We know that this is our sonne, and that he was borne blinde:
Cha mẹ người trả lời rằng: Chúng tôi nhìn biết là con trai chúng tôi nó đã mù từ thuở sanh ra;
21 But by what meanes hee nowe seeth, we know not: or who hath opened his eyes, can we not tell: he is olde ynough: aske him: hee shall answere for himselfe.
nhưng hiện nay tại làm sao thấy được, thì chúng tôi không rõ. Chúng tôi cùng không biết ai mở mắt nó nữa. Hãy hỏi nó, nó đã đủ tuổi, chính nó sẽ nói cho.
22 These wordes spake his parents, because they feared the Iewes: for the Iewes had ordeined already, that if any man did confesse that he was Christ, he should be excommunicate out of the Synagogue.
Cha mẹ người nói vậy, vì sợ dân Giu-đa; bởi dân Giu-đa đã định rằng hễ ai xưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus là Ðấng Christ thì phải bị đuổi ra khỏi nhà hội.
23 Therefore sayde his parents, Hee is olde ynough: aske him.
Ấy vì cớ đó cho nên cha mẹ người nói rằng: Nó đã đủ tuổi, hãy hỏi nói.
24 Then againe called they the man that had bene blinde, and sayd vnto him, Giue glory vnto God: we know that this man is a sinner.
Vậy, người Pha-ri-si gọi người trước đã mù một lần nữa, mà nói rằng: Hãy ngợi khen Ðức Chúa Trời, chúng ta biết người đó là kẻ có tội.
25 Then he answered, and sayd, Whether hee be a sinner or no, I can not tell: one thing I know, that I was blinde, and nowe I see.
Người trả lời rằng: Tôi chẳng biết người có phải là kẻ tội chăng, chỉ biết một điều, là tôi đã mù mà bây giờ lại sáng.
26 Then sayd they to him againe, What did he to thee? howe opened he thine eyes?
Họ lại hỏi rằng: Người đã làm điều gì cho ngươi? Mở mắt ngươi thế nào?
27 Hee answered them, I haue tolde you already, and yee haue not heard it: wherefore would yee heare it againe? will yee also be his disciples?
Người trả lời rằng: Tôi đã nói với các ông rồi, mà các ông chẳng nghe tôi. Cớ sao các ông muốn nghe lại lần nữa? Há cũng muốn làm môn đồ người chăng?
28 Then reuiled they him, and sayd, Be thou his disciple: we be Moses disciples.
Họ bèn mắng nhiếc người, mà rằng: Ấy, chính ngươi là môn đồ người; còn chúng ta là môn đồ của Môi-se.
29 We know that God spake with Moses: but this man we know not from whence he is.
Chúng ta biết Ðức Chúa Trời đã phán cùng Môi-se, nhưng người này thì chúng ta chẳng biết bởi đâu đến.
30 The man answered, and sayde vnto them, Doutlesse, this is a marueilous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
Người trả lời rằng: Người đã mở mắt tôi, mà các ông chẳng biết người ở đâu đến, ấy là sự lạ lùng lắm!
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him heareth he.
Chúng ta vẫn biết Ðức Chúa Trời chẳng nhậm lời kẻ có tội, mà nếu ai kính sợ Ðức Chúa Trời, làm theo ý muốn Ngài, thì Ngài nhậm lời.
32 Since the world began, was it not heard, that any man opened the eyes of one that was borne blinde. (aiōn g165)
Người ta chẳng bao giờ nghe nói có ai mở mắt kẻ mù từ thuở sanh ra. (aiōn g165)
33 If this man were not of God, hee could haue done nothing.
Nếu người này chẳng phải đến từ Ðức Chúa Trời, thì không làm gì được hết.
34 They answered, and sayd vnto him, Thou art altogether borne in sinnes, and doest thou teach vs? so they cast him out.
Chúng trả lời rằng: Cả mình ngươi sinh ra trong tội lỗi, lại muốn dạy dỗ chúng ta sao! Ðoạn họ đuổi họ ra ngoài.
35 Iesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he sayd vnto him, Doest thou beleeue in the Sonne of God?
Ðức Chúa Jêsus nghe họ đã đuổi họ ra và Ngài có gặp người, bèn phán hỏi rằng: Ngươi có tin đến Con Ðức Chúa Trời chăng?
36 He answered, and sayd, Who is he, Lord, that I might beleeue in him?
Người thưa rằng: Thưa Chúa người là ai hầu cho tôi tin đến?
37 And Iesus sayd vnto him, Both thou hast seene him, and he it is that talketh with thee.
Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng: Ngươi đã thấy người và ấy là người đương nói cùng ngươi.
38 Then he sayd, Lord, I beleeue, and worshipped him.
Người thưa rằng: Lạy Chúa, tôi tin; bèn sấp mình xuống trước mặt Ngài.
39 And Iesus sayd, I am come vnto iudgement into this world, that they which see not, might see: and that they which see, might be made blinde.
Ðức Chúa Jêsus bèn phán rằng: Ta đã đến thế gian đặng làm sự phán xét nầy: Hễ ai chẳng thấy, thì thấy; còn ai thấy, lại hóa mù.
40 And some of the Pharises which were with him, heard these things, and sayd vnto him, Are we blinde also?
Mấy người Pha-ri-si bên cạnh Ngài nghe điều đó, thì nói với Ngài rằng: Còn chúng ta cũng là kẻ mù chăng?
41 Iesus sayd vnto them, If ye were blinde, ye should not haue sinne: but nowe ye say, We see: therefore your sinne remaineth.
Ðức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Nếu các ngươi là kẻ mù, thì không có tội lỗi chi hết; nhưng vì các ngươi nói rằng: Chúng ta thấy, nên tội lỗi các ngươi vẫn còn lại.
