John 4
1 Nowe when the Lord knew, how the Pharises had heard, that Iesus made and baptized moe disciples then Iohn,
E quando o Senhor entendeu que os phariseos tinham ouvido que Jesus fazia e baptizava mais discipulos do que João
2 (Though Iesus himselfe baptized not: but his disciples)
(Ainda que Jesus mesmo não baptizava, mas os seus discipulos),
3 Hee left Iudea, and departed againe into Galile.
Deixou a Judea, e foi outra vez para a Galilea.
4 And he must needes goe through Samaria.
E era-lhe necessario passar por Samaria.
5 Then came hee to a citie of Samaria called Sychar, neere vnto the possession that Iacob gaue to his sonne Ioseph.
Foi pois a uma cidade de Samaria, chamada Sicar, junto da herdade que Jacob deu a seu filho José.
6 And there was Iacobs well. Iesus then wearied in the iourney, sate thus on the well: it was about the sixt houre.
E estava ali a fonte de Jacob; Jesus, pois, cançado do caminho, assentou-se assim junto da fonte. Era isto quasi á hora sexta.
7 There came a woman of Samaria to drawe water. Iesus sayd vnto her, Giue me drinke.
Veiu uma mulher de Samaria tirar agua: disse-lhe Jesus: Dá-me de beber.
8 For his disciples were gone away into the citie, to buy meate.
Porque os seus discipulos tinham ido á cidade comprar comida.
9 Then sayde the woman of Samaria vnto him, Howe is it, that thou being a Iewe, askest drinke of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Iewes meddle not with the Samaritans.
Disse-lhe pois a mulher samaritana: Como, sendo tu judeo, me pedes de beber a mim, que sou mulher samaritana? (porque os judeos não se communicam com os samaritanos)
10 Iesus answered and saide vnto her, If thou knewest that gift of God, and who it is that saieth to thee, Giue mee drinke, thou wouldest haue asked of him, and hee woulde haue giuen thee, water of life.
Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhe: Se tu conheceras o dom de Deus, e quem é o que te diz: Dá-me de beber, tu lhe pedirias, e elle te daria agua viva.
11 The woman saide vnto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to drawe with, and the well is deepe: from whence then hast thou that water of life?
Disse-lhe a mulher: Senhor, tu não tens com que a tirar, e o poço é fundo: onde pois tens a agua viva?
12 Art thou greater then our father Iacob, which gaue vs the well, and hee himselfe dranke thereof, and his sonnes, and his cattell?
És tu maior do que o nosso pae Jacob, que nos deu o poço, e elle mesmo d'elle bebeu, e os seus filhos, e o seu gado?
13 Iesus answered, and said vnto her, Whosoeuer drinketh of this water, shall thirst againe:
Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhe: Qualquer que beber d'esta agua tornará a ter sêde;
15 The woman said vnto him, Syr, giue me of that water, that I may not thirst, neither come hither to drawe.
Disse-lhe a mulher: Senhor, dá-me d'essa agua, para que não mais tenha sêde, e não venha aqui tiral-a.
16 Iesus said vnto her, Go, call thine husband, and come hither.
Disse-lhe Jesus: Vae, chama a teu marido, e vem cá.
17 The woman answered, and saide, I haue no husband. Iesus said vnto her, Thou hast well said, I haue no husband.
A mulher respondeu, e disse: Não tenho marido. Disse-lhe Jesus: Disseste bem: Não tenho marido;
18 For thou hast had fiue husbands, and he whom thou nowe hast, is not thine husband: that saidest thou truely.
Porque tiveste cinco maridos, e o que agora tens não é teu marido; isto disseste com verdade.
19 The woman saide vnto him, Sir, I see that thou art a Prophet.
Disse-lhe a mulher: Senhor, vejo que és propheta.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountaine, and ye say, that in Ierusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
Nossos paes adoraram n'este monte, e vós dizeis que é em Jerusalem o logar onde se deve adorar.
21 Iesus saide vnto her, Woman, beleeue me, the houre commeth, when ye shall neither in this mountaine, nor at Hierusalem worship ye Father.
Disse-lhe Jesus: Mulher, crê-me que a hora vem, quando nem n'este monte nem em Jerusalem adorareis o Pae.
22 Ye worship that which ye knowe not: we worship that which we knowe: for saluation is of the Iewes.
Vós adoraes o que não sabeis; nós adoramos o que sabemos porque a salvação vem dos judeos.
23 But the houre commeth, and nowe is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit, and trueth: for the Father requireth euen such to worship him.
Porém a hora vem, e agora é, em que os verdadeiros adoradores adorarão o Pae em espirito e em verdade; porque o Pae procura a taes que assim o adorem.
24 God is a Spirite, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and trueth.
Deus é Espirito, e importa que os que o adoram o adorem em espirito e em verdade.
25 The woman said vnto him, I knowe well that Messias shall come which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell vs all things.
A mulher disse-lhe: Eu sei que o Messias (que se chama o Christo) vem; quando elle vier, nos annunciará todas as coisas.
26 Iesus said vnto her, I am he, that speake vnto thee.
Jesus disse-lhe: Eu sou, o que fallo comtigo.
27 And vpon that, came his disciples, and marueiled that he talked with a woman: yet no man said vnto him, What askest thou? or why talkest thou with her?
E n'isto vieram os seus discipulos, e maravilharam-se de que fallasse com uma mulher; todavia nenhum lhe disse: Que perguntas? ou: Que fallas com ella?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the citie, and said to the men,
Deixou pois a mulher o seu cantaro, e foi á cidade, e disse áquelles homens:
29 Come, see a man which hath tolde me all things that euer I did: is not he that Christ?
Vinde, vêde um homem que me disse tudo quanto tenho feito: porventura não é este o Christo?
30 Then they went out of the citie, and came vnto him.
Sairam pois da cidade, e foram ter com elle.
31 In the meane while, the disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eate.
E entretanto os seus discipulos lhe rogaram, dizendo: Rabbi, come.
32 But he said vnto them, I haue meate to eate that ye know not of.
Porém elle lhes disse: Uma comida tenho para comer, que vós não sabeis.
33 Then said ye disciples betweene themselues, Hath any man brought him meate?
Então os discipulos diziam uns aos outros: Trouxe-lhe porventura alguem de comer?
34 Iesus saide vnto them, My meate is that I may doe the will of him that sent me, and finish his worke.
Jesus disse-lhes: A minha comida é fazer a vontade d'aquelle que me enviou, e cumprir a sua obra.
35 Say not ye, There are yet foure moneths, and then commeth haruest? Beholde, I say vnto you, Lift vp your eyes, and looke on the regions: for they are white alreadie vnto haruest.
Não dizeis vós que ainda ha quatro mezes até que venha a ceifa? eis que eu vos digo: Levantae os vossos olhos, e vêde as terras, que já estão brancas para a ceifa
36 And he that reapeth, receiueth rewarde, and gathereth fruite vnto life eternall, that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth, might reioyce together. (aiōnios g166)
E o que ceifa recebe galardão, e ajunta fructo para a vida eterna; para que, assim o que semeia, como o que ceifa, ambos se regozijem. (aiōnios g166)
37 For herein is the saying true, that one soweth, and an other reapeth.
Porque n'isto é verdadeiro o ditado, que um é o que semeia, e outro o que ceifa.
38 I sent you to reape that, whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entred into their labours.
Eu vos enviei a ceifar onde vós não trabalhastes; outros trabalharam, e vós entrastes no seu trabalho.
39 Nowe many of the Samaritans of that citie beleeued in him, for the saying of the woman which testified, He hath tolde me all things that euer I did.
E muitos dos samaritanos d'aquella cidade crêram n'elle, pela palavra da mulher, que testificou, dizendo: Disse-me tudo quanto tenho feito.
40 Then when the Samaritans were come vnto him, they besought him, that he woulde tarie with them: and he abode there two dayes.
Indo pois ter com elle os samaritanos, rogaram-lhe que ficasse com elles; e ficou ali dois dias.
41 And many moe beleeued because of his owne word.
E muitos mais creram n'elle, por causa da sua palavra.
42 And they said vnto the woman, Nowe we beleeue, not because of thy saying: for we haue heard him our selues, and knowe that this is in deede that Christ the Sauiour of the world.
E diziam á mulher: Já não é pelo teu dito que nós crêmos; porque nós mesmos o temos ouvido, e sabemos que este é verdadeiramente o Christo, o Salvador do mundo.
43 So two dayes after he departed thence, and went into Galile.
E dois dias depois partiu d'ali, e foi para a Galilea.
44 For Iesus himselfe had testified, that a Prophet hath none honour in his owne countrey.
Porque Jesus mesmo testificou que um propheta não tem honra na sua propria patria.
45 Then when he was come into Galile, the Galileans receiued him, which had seene all the things that he did at Hierusalem at the feast: for they went also vnto the feast.
Chegando pois á Galilea, os galileos o receberam, vistas todas as coisas que fizera em Jerusalem no dia da festa; porque tambem elles tinham ido á festa.
46 And Iesus came againe into Cana a towne of Galile, where he had made of water, wine. And there was a certaine ruler, whose sonne was sicke at Capernaum.
Segunda vez foi Jesus a Caná da Galilea, onde da agua fizera vinho. E havia ali um regulo, cujo filho estava enfermo em Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Iesus was come out of Iudea into Galile, he went vnto him, and besought him that he would goe downe, and heale his sonne: for he was euen ready to die.
Ouvindo este que Jesus vinha da Judea para a Galilea, foi ter com elle, e rogou-lhe que descesse, e curasse o seu filho, porque já estava á morte.
48 Then saide Iesus vnto him, Except ye see signes and wonders, ye will not beleeue.
Então Jesus lhe disse: Se não virdes signaes e milagres, não crereis.
49 The ruler said vnto him, Syr, goe downe before my sonne dye.
Disse-lhe o regulo: Senhor, desce, antes que meu filho morra.
50 Iesus said vnto him, Go thy way, thy sonne liueth: and the man beleeued the worde that Iesus had spoken vnto him, and went his way.
Disse-lhe Jesus: Vae, o teu filho vive. E o homem creu na palavra que Jesus lhe disse, e foi-se.
51 And as he was nowe going downe, his seruants met him, saying, Thy sonne liueth.
E, descendo elle logo, sairam-lhe ao encontro os seus servos, e lhe annunciaram, dizendo: O teu filho vive.
52 Then enquired he of them the houre when he began to amend. And they said vnto him, Yesterday the seuenth houre the feuer left him.
Perguntou-lhes pois a que hora se achara melhor; e disseram-lhe: Hontem ás sete horas a febre o deixou.
53 Then the father knew, that it was the same houre in the which Iesus had said vnto him, Thy sonne liueth. And he beleeued, and all his houshold.
Entendeu pois o pae que era aquella hora a mesma em que Jesus lhe disse: O teu filho vive: e creu elle, e toda a sua casa.
54 This second miracle did Iesus againe, after he was come out of Iudea into Galile.
Jesus fez este segundo signal, quando ia da Judea para a Galilea.
