Jeremiah 50
1 The word that the Lord spake, concerning Babel, and cocerning the land of the Caldeans by the ministerie of Ieremiah the Prophet.
Palavra que o SENHOR falou sobre a Babilônia, sobre a terra dos caldeus, por meio do profeta Jeremias.
2 Declare among the nations, and publish it, and set vp a standart, proclaime it and conceale it not: say, Babel is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken downe: her idols are confounded, and their images are burst in pieces.
Anunciai entre as nações, declarai, e levantai bandeira; declarai, e não encubrais: dizei: Tomada é Babilônia, Bel é envergonhado, Merodaque é despedaçado; envergonhados são seus ídolos, despedaçados estão suas imagens de idolatria.
3 For out of the North there commeth vp a nation against her, which shall make her lande waste, and none shall dwel therein: they shall flee, and depart, both man and beast.
Pois subiu contra ela uma nação do norte, a qual tornará sua terra em desolação, e não haverá morador nela; desde os homens até os animais fugiram e se afastaram.
4 In those daies, and at that time, sayeth the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they, and the children of Iudah together, going, and weeping shall they goe, and seeke the Lord their God.
Naqueles dias e naquele tempo, diz o SENHOR, os filhos de Israel virão, eles e juntamente os filhos de Judá; virão andando e chorando, e buscarão ao SENHOR seu Deus.
5 They shall aske the way to Zion, with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let vs cleaue to the Lord in a perpetuall couenant that shall not be forgotten.
Perguntarão por Sião, pelo caminho para onde voltarão seus rostos, [dizendo]: Vinde, e juntai-vos ao SENHOR [com] um pacto eterno, que jamais será esquecido.
6 My people hath beene as lost sheepe: their shepheards haue caused them to goe astray, and haue turned them away to the mountaines: they haue gone from mountaine to hil, and forgotten their resting place.
Meu povo tem sido ovelhas perdidas; seus pastores as fizeram errar, pelos montes as desviaram; andaram de monte em morro, esqueceram-se de seu lugar de descanso.
7 Al that found them, haue deuoured them, and their enemies saide, We offende not, because they haue sinned against the Lord, the habitation of iustice, euen the Lord the hope of their fathers.
Todos quantos as achavam, as comiam; e adversários diziam: Nenhuma culpa teremos, pois pecaram contra o SENHOR, a morada da justiça [contra] o SENHOR, a esperança de seus pais.
8 Flee from the middes of Babel, and depart out of the lande of the Caldeans, and be ye as the hee goates before the flocke.
Fugi do meio da Babilônia, e saí da terra dos caldeus; e sede como os bodes adiante do rebanho.
9 For loe, I will raise, and cause to come vp against Babel a multitude of mightie natios from the North countrey, and they shall set themselues in aray against her, whereby shee shall be taken: their arrowes shall be as of a strong man, which is expert, for none shall returne in vaine.
Porque eis que eu levantarei e farei subir contra a Babilônia um ajuntamento de grandes povos da terra do norte; e se prepararão contra ela, e dali será tomada; suas flechas serão como de um habilidoso guerreiro, que não voltarão em vão.
10 And Caldea shalbe a spoyle: all that spoyle her, shalbe satisfied, sayth the Lord.
E a Caldeia será objeto de saque; todos os que a saquearem serão fartos, diz o SENHOR.
11 Because yee were glad and reioyced in destroying mine heritage, and because ye are growen fatte, as the calues in the grasse, and neied like strong horses,
Visto que vós vos alegrastes, que vos enchestes de prazer, vós saqueadores de minha propriedade; visto que vos inchastes como bezerra gorda, e relinchastes como cavalos;
12 Therefore your mother shall bee sore confounded, and she that bare you, shall be ashamed: beholde, the vttermost of the nations shalbe a desert, a drie land, and a wildernes.
[Por isso] vossa mãe será muito envergonhada, será humilhada a que vos gerou; eis que ela será a última das nações: deserto, secura, e desolação.
13 Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but shall be wholy desolate: euery one that goeth by Babel, shall be astonished, and hisse at all her plagues.
Por causa da ira do SENHOR não será habitada; ela, porém será totalmente desolada; qualquer um passar pela Babilônia se espantará e assoviará por causa de todas as suas pragas.
14 Put your selues in aray against Babel rounde about: all ye that bende the bowe, shoote at her, spare no arrowes: for shee hath sinned against the Lord.
Preparai-vos em linha de batalha contra Babilônia ao redor, todos vós que armais arcos; atirai contra ela, não poupeis as flechas; pois ela pecou contra o SENHOR.
15 Crie against her round about: she hath giuen her hand: her foundations are fallen, and her walles are destroyed: for it is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance vpon her: as she hath done, doe vnto her.
Gritai contra ela ao redor, [pois] já se rendeu; caíram seus fundamentos, derrubados são seus muros, pois esta é vingança do SENHOR. Vingai-vos dela; fazei com ela assim como ela fez.
16 Destroy the sower from Babel, and him that handleth the sieth in the time of haruest: because of the sworde of the oppressor they shall turne euery one to his people, and they shall flee euery one to his owne land.
Exterminai da Babilônia o semeador, e o que usa a foice no tempo da ceifa; por causa da espada opressora, cada um se voltará ao seu povo, cada um fugirá para sua terra.
17 Israel is like scattered sheepe: the lions haue dispersed them: first the King of Asshur hath deuoured him, and last this Nebuchad-nezzar King, of Babel hath broken his bones.
Israel é um cordeiro desgarrado, que leões afugentaram; o rei da Assíria foi o primeiro que o devorou; e este, Nabucodonosor rei da Babilônia, o último, que lhe quebrou os ossos.
18 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Behold, I wil visit ye King of Babel, and his land, as I haue visited the King of Asshur.
Portanto assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que punirei ao rei de Babilônia e a sua terra assim como puni ao rei da Assíria.
19 And I will bring Israel againe to his habitation: hee shall feede on Carmel and Bashan, and his soule shall be satisfied vpon the mount Ephraim and Gilead.
E voltarei a trazer Israel à sua morada, no Carmelo e em Basã se alimentará; nos montes de Efraim e de Gileade sua alma farta será.
20 In those daies, and at that time, sayeth the Lord, the iniquitie of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none: and the sinnes of Iudah, and they shall not be founde: for I will be mercifull vnto them, whome I reserue.
Naqueles dias e naquele tempo, diz o SENHOR, a maldade de Israel será buscada, mas não [será encontrada]; e [buscados] os pecados de Judá, mas não se acharão; porque perdoarei aos restantes que eu deixar.
21 Goe vp against the lande of the rebelles, euen against it, and against the inhabitantes of Pekod: destroy, and lay it waste after them, saieth the Lord, and doe according to all that I haue commanded thee.
Sobe contra ela, a terra de Merataim, e contra os moradores de Pecode; assola e destrói por completo atrás deles, diz o SENHOR, e faze conforme a tudo o que te mandei.
22 A crie of battell is in the land, and of great destruction.
Há barulho de guerra na terra, e de grande destruição.
23 Howe is the hammer of the whole world destroied, and broken! howe is Babel become desolate among the nations!
Como foi cortado e quebrado o martelo de toda a terra! Como Babilônia se tornou em espanto entre as nações!
24 I haue snared thee, and thou art taken, O Babel, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striuen against the Lord.
Pus armadilha para ti, e também foste capturada, ó Babilônia, antes de tu perceberes; foste achada, e também presa, porque lutaste contra o SENHOR.
25 The Lord hath opened his treasure, and hath brought foorth the weapons of his wrath: for this is the woorke of the Lord God of hostes in the lande of the Caldeans.
O SENHOR abriu o teu arsenal, e tirou os instrumentos de sua ira; porque esta é a obra do Senhor DEUS dos exércitos, na terra dos caldeus.
26 Come against her from the vtmost border: open her store houses: treade on her as on sheaues, and destroy her vtterly: let nothing of her be left.
Vinde contra ela desde o lugar mais distante; abri seus celeiros; tornai-a em amontoados, e destruí-a por completo; que nada reste dela.
27 Destroy all her bullockes: let them goe downe to the slaughter. Wo vnto them, for their day is come, and the time of their visitation.
Matai à espada todos os seus novilhos; que ela desça ao matadouro. Ai deles! Porque veio o seu dia, o tempo de sua punição.
28 The voyce of them that flee, and escape out of the lande of Babel to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, and the vengeance of his Temple.
Eis a voz dos que fugiram e escaparam da terra de Babilônia, para anunciar em Sião a vingança do SENHOR nosso Deus, a vingança de seu templo.
29 Call vp the archers against Babel: al ye that bend the bow, besiege it rounde about: let none thereof escape: recompence her according to her worke, and according to all that she hath done, doe vnto her: for she hath bene proud against the Lord, euen against the holy one of Israel.
Convocai contra a Babilônia os flecheiros, todos os que armam arcos; assentai o acampamento ao redor dela; ninguém escape dela, pagai-lhe conforme sua obra; conforme tudo o que ela fez, fazei-lhe; porque agiu arrogantemente contra o SENHOR, contra o Santo de Israel.
30 Therefore shall her yong men fall in the streetes, and al her men of warre shalbe destroied in that day, sayeth the Lord.
Portanto seus rapazes cairão em suas ruas; e todos os seus homens de guerra serão exterminados naquele dia, diz o SENHOR.
31 Beholde, I come vnto thee, O proude man, saith the Lord God of hostes: for thy day is come, euen the time that I will visite thee.
Eis que eu contra ti, ó soberbo, diz o Senhor DEUS dos exércitos; porque veio o teu dia, o tempo em que te castigarei.
32 And the proude shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him vp: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall deuoure all round about him.
E o soberbo tropeçará e cairá, e ninguém haverá que o levante; e acenderei fogo em suas cidades, que consumirá todos os seus arredores.
33 Thus saieth the Lord of hosts, The children of Israel, and the children of Iudah were oppressed together: and all that tooke them captiues, held them, and would not let them goe.
Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá juntamente foram oprimidos; e todos os que os tomaram cativos os detiveram; recusaram-se soltá-los.
34 But their strong redeemer, whose Name is the Lord of hostes, he shall maintaine their cause, that he may giue rest to the lande, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babel.
Porém o Redentor deles é forte; EU-SOU dos exércitos é o seu nome; certamente defenderá a causa deles, para dar descanso à terra, e incomodar os moradores da Babilônia.
35 A sworde is vpon the Caldeans, sayeth the Lord, and vpon the inhabitants of Babel, and vpon her princes, and vpon her wise men.
Espada [virá] sobre os caldeus, diz o SENHOR, e sobre os moradores da Babilônia, sobre seus príncipes, e sobre seus sábios.
36 A sworde is vpon the soothsaiers, and they shall dote: a sword is vpon her strong men, and they shalbe afraide.
Espada [virá] sobre os adivinhos, e se tornarão tolos; espada [virá] sobre seus guerreiros, e perderão as forças.
37 A sworde is vpon their horses and vpon their charets, and vpon all the multitude that are in the middes of her, and they shall be like women: a sworde is vpon her treasures, and they shall be spoyled.
Espada [virá] sobre seus cavalos, sobre seus carros, e sobre todo os estrangeiros que estão no meio dela, e serão como mulheres; espada [virá] sobre seus tesouros, e serão saqueados.
38 A drought is vpon her waters, and they shall be dried vp: for it is the lande of grauen images, and they dote vpon their idoles.
Sequidão [virá] sobre suas águas, e se secarão; pois é terra de idolatrias, e se enlouquecem por [seus] ídolos.
39 Therefore the Ziims with the Iims shall dwel there, and the ostriches shall dwel therein: for it shall be no more inhabited, neither shall it be inhabited from generation vnto generation.
Por isso [nela] habitarão animais selvagens do deserto com hienas; habitarão também nela filhotes de avestruz; e nunca mais será habitada, nem servirá de morada geração após geração.
40 As God destroied Sodom and Gomorah with the places thereof neere about, sayeth the Lord: so shall no man dwell theere, neither shall the sonne of man remaine therein.
Assim como Deus destruiu Sodoma, Gomorra e suas cidades vizinhas, diz o SENHOR, assim também não habitará ali homem, nem filho de homem a morará.
41 Beholde, a people shall come from the North, and a great nation, and many Kings shall be raised vp from the coastes of the earth.
Eis que um povo vem do norte; e uma grande nação, e muitos reis se levantarão dos lugares distantes da terra.
42 They shall holde the bowe and the buckeler: they are cruell and vnmercifull: their voyce shall roare like the sea, and they shall ride vpon horses, and be put in aray like men to the battell against thee, O daughter of Babel.
Eles manejam arco e lança; são cruéis, e não terão compaixão; sua voz soará como o mar, e montarão sobre cavalos; ficarão em posição como de homem para a batalha, contra ti, ó filha da Babilônia.
43 The King of Babel hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: sorow came vpon him, euen sorowe as of a woman in trauaile.
O rei da Babilônia ouviu a notícia deles, e suas mãos perderam as forças; tomado foi por angústia e dor, como mulher de parto.
44 Beholde, hee shall come vp like a lyon from the swelling of Iorden vnto the strong habitation: for I will make Israel to rest, and I will make them to haste away from her: and who is a chosen man that I may appoynt against her? for who is like me, and who will appoynt me the time? and who is the shepheard that will stande before me?
Eis que como leão subirá da mata do Jordão contra a morada do forte; pois repentinamente o farei correr dali. E ordenarei contra ela a quem eu escolher; pois quem é semelhante a mim? E quem manda em mim? Ou quem é o pastor que pode subsistir diante de mim?
45 Therefore heare the counsell of the Lord that hee hath deuised against Babel, and his purpose that hee hath conceiued against the lande of the Caldeans: surely the least of the flocke shall drawe them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
Portanto ouvi o conselho do SENHOR, que decretou contra a Babilônia; e seus pensamentos, que ele determinou sobre a terra dos caldeus: Certamente os menores do rebanho serão arrastados, certamente destruirá sua habitação com deles.
46 At the noyse of the winning of Babel the earth is moued, and the crye is heard among the nations.
Do ruído da tomada da Babilônia a terra tremeu, e o grito se ouviu entre as nações.
