Jeremiah 41
1 But in the seuenth moneth came Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, the sonne of Elishama of the seede royall, and the princes of the King, and tenne men with him, vnto Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam to Mizpah, and there they did eate bread together in Mizpah.
Succedeu, porém, no mez setimo, que veiu Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, filho d'Elisama, de sangue real, e os capitães do rei, a saber, dez homens com elle, a Gedalias, filho d'Ahicam, a Mizpah; e comeram ali pão juntamente em Mizpah.
2 Then arose Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah with these tenne men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan with the sword, and slewe him, whom the King of Babel had made gouernour ouer the lande.
E levantou-se Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, com os dez homens que estavam com elle, e feriram a Gedalias, filho de Ahicam, filho de Saphan, á espada; e matou aquelle que o rei de Babylonia havia posto sobre a terra.
3 Ishmael also slewe all the Iewes that were with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and all the Caldeans that were found there, and the men of warre.
Tambem feriu Ishmael a todos os judeos que havia com elle, com Gedalias, em Mizpah, como tambem aos chaldeos, homens de guerra, que se acharam ali.
4 Now the second day that he had slaine Gedaliah, and no man knewe it,
Succedeu pois no dia seguinte, depois que matára a Gedalias, e sem ninguem o saber,
5 There came men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, euen fourescore men, hauing their beardes shauen, and their clothes rent and cut, with offerings and incense in their hands to offer in the house of the Lord.
Que vieram homens de Sichem, de Silo, e de Samaria; oitenta homens, com a barba rapada, e os vestidos rasgados, e sarjando-se; e traziam nas suas mãos offertas de manjares e incenso, para levarem á casa do Senhor.
6 And Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meete them, weeping as he went: and when he met them, he said vnto them, Come to Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam.
E, saindo-lhes ao encontro Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, desde Mizpah, ia chorando; e succedeu que, encontrando-os, lhes disse: Vinde a Gedalias, filho de Ahicam.
7 And when they came into the middes of the citie, Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah slewe them, and cast them into the middes of the pit, he and the men that were with him.
Succedeu, porém, que, entrando elles até ao meio da cidade, matou-os Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, e os lançou no meio de um poço, elle e os homens que estavam com elle.
8 But tenne men were founde among them, that saide vnto Ishmael, Slay vs not: for we haue treasures in the fielde, of wheate, and of barley, and of oyle, and of honie: so he stayed, and slew them not among their brethren.
Mas acharam-se entre elles dez homens que disseram a Ishmael: Não nos mates a nós; porque temos no campo thesouros escondidos, trigo e cevada, e azeite e mel. E os deixou, e não os matou entre seus irmãos.
9 Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast the dead bodies of the men (whom he had slayne because of Gedaliah) is it, which Asa the King had made because of Basha King of Israel, and Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah filled it with them that were slaine.
E o poço em que Ishmael lançou todos os cadaveres dos homens que feriu por causa de Gedalias é o mesmo que fez o rei Asa, por causa de Baasa, rei de Israel: a este encheu de mortos Ishmael, filho de Nethanias.
10 Then Ishmael caryed away captiue all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, euen the Kings daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-adan the chiefe steward had committed to Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, and Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah caried them away captiue, and departed to goe ouer to the Ammonites.
E Ishmael levou captivo a todo o resto do povo que estava em Mizpah; as filhas do rei, e todo o povo que restou em Mizpah, que Nebuzaradan, capitão da guarda, havia encarregado a Gedalias, filho de Ahicam; e levou-os captivos Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, e foi-se para passar aos filhos de Ammon.
11 But when Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste that were with him, heard of all the euill that Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah had done,
Ouvindo pois Johanan, filho de Careah, e todos os principes dos exercitos que havia com elle, todo o mal que havia feito Ishmael, filho de Nethanias,
12 Then they all tooke their men, and went to fight with Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, and founde him by ye great waters that are in Gibeon.
Tomaram todos os seus homens, e foram pelejar contra Ishmael, filho de Nethanias: e acharam-n'o ao pé das muitas aguas que ha em Gibeon.
13 Nowe when all the people whom Ishmael caryed away captiue, sawe Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste, that were with him, they were glad.
E aconteceu que, vendo todo o povo, que estava com Ishmael, a Johanan filho de Careah, e a todos os principes dos exercitos, que vinham com elle, se alegrou.
14 So all the people, that Ishmael had caryed away captiue from Mizpah, returned and came againe, and went vnto Iohanan the sonne of Kareah.
E todo o povo que Ishmael levara captivo de Mizpah virou as costas, e voltou, e foi para Johanan, filho de Careah.
15 But Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah, escaped from Iohanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites.
Porém Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, escapou com oito homens de diante de Johanan, e se foi para os filhos de Ammon.
16 Then tooke Iohanan the sonne of Kareah, and all the captaines of the hoste that were with him, all the remnant of the people, whom Ishmael the sonne of Nethaniah had caried away captiue from Mizpah, (after that he had slaine Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam) euen the strong men of warre, and the women, and the children, and the eunuches, whom hee had brought againe from Gibeon:
Então tomou Johanan, filho de Careah, e todos os principes dos exercitos que havia com elle, a todo o resto do povo que elle havia recobrado de Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, desde Mizpah, depois de haver ferido a Gedalias, filho de Ahicam, aos homens valentes de guerra, e ás mulheres, e aos meninos, e aos eunuchos que havia recobrado de Gibeon,
17 And they departed and dwelt in Geruth Chimham, which is by Beth-lehem, to goe and to enter into Egypt,
E foram, e moraram na habitação de Geruth-chimham, que está perto de Beth-lehem, para se irem e entrarem no Egypto,
18 Because of the Caldeans: for they feared them, because Ishmael ye sonne of Nethaniah had slaine Gedaliah the sonne of Ahikam, whom the King of Babel made gouernour in the land.
Por causa dos chaldeos; porque os temiam, por haver ferido Ishmael, filho de Nethanias, a Gedalias, filho de Ahicam, a quem o rei de Babylonia tinha posto sobre a terra.
