Jeremiah 30
1 The worde, that came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
La parola che fu rivolta a Geremia dall’Eterno, in questi termini:
2 Thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the wordes, that I haue spoken vnto thee in a booke.
“Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele: Scriviti in un libro tutte le parole che t’ho dette;
3 For loe, the dayes come, saith the Lord, that I wil bring againe the captiuitie of my people Israel and Iudah, saith the Lord: for I will restore them vnto the lande, that I gaue to their fathers, and they shall possesse it.
poiché, ecco, i giorni vengono, dice l’Eterno, quando io ritrarrò dalla cattività il mio popolo d’Israele e di Giuda, dice l’Eterno, e li ricondurrò nel paese che diedi ai loro padri, ed essi lo possederanno”.
4 Againe, these are the wordes that the Lord spake concerning Israel, and concerning Iudah.
Queste sono le parole che l’Eterno ha pronunziate riguardo ad Israele ed a Giuda.
5 For thus saith the Lord, wee haue heard a terrible voyce, of feare and not of peace.
Così parla l’Eterno: Noi udiamo un grido di terrore, di spavento, e non di pace.
6 Demand now and beholde, if man trauayle with childe? wherefore doe I beholde euery man with his hands on his loynes as a woman in trauaile, and all faces are turned into a palenesse?
Informatevi e guardate se un maschio partorisce! Perché dunque vedo io tutti gli uomini con le mani sui fianchi come donna partoriente? Perché tutte le facce son diventate pallide?
7 Alas, for this day is great: none hath bene like it: it is euen the time of Iaakobs trouble, yet shall he be deliuered from it.
Ahimè, perché quel giorno è grande; non ve ne fu mai altro di simile; è un tempo di distretta per Giacobbe; ma pure ei ne sarà salvato.
8 For in that day, sayth the Lord of hostes, I will breake his yoke from off thy necke, and breake thy bondes, and strangers shall no more serue themselues of him.
In quel giorno, dice l’Eterno degli eserciti, io spezzerò il suo giogo di sul tuo collo, e romperò i tuoi legami; e gli stranieri non ti faran più loro schiavo;
9 But they shall serue the Lord their God, and Dauid their King, whom I will raise vp vnto them.
ma quei d’Israele serviranno l’Eterno, il loro Dio, e Davide lor re, che io susciterò loro.
10 Therefore feare not, O my seruant Iaakob, saith the Lord, neither be afrayde, O Israel: for loe, I will deliuer thee from a farre countrey, and thy seede from the lande of their captiuitie, and Iaakob shall turne againe, and shalbe in rest and prosperitie and none shall make him afraide.
Tu dunque, o Giacobbe, mio servitore, non temere, dice l’Eterno; non ti sgomentare, o Israele; poiché, ecco, io ti salverò dal lontano paese, salverò la tua progenie dalla terra della sua cattività; Giacobbe ritornerà, sarà in riposo, sarà tranquillo, e nessuno più lo spaventerà.
11 For I am with thee, sayth the Lord, to saue thee: though I vtterly destroy all the nations where I haue scattered thee, yet will I not vtterly destroy thee, but I will correct thee by iudgement, and not vtterly cut thee off.
Poiché io son teco, dice l’Eterno, per salvarti; io annienterò tutte le nazioni fra le quali t’ho disperso, ma non annienterò te; però, ti castigherò con giusta misura, e non ti lascerò del tutto impunito.
12 For thus saith the Lord, Thy bruising is incurable, and thy wound is dolorous.
Così parla l’Eterno: La tua ferita è incurabile, la tua piaga è grave.
13 There is none to iudge thy cause, or to lay a plaister: there are no medicines, nor help for thee.
Nessuno prende in mano la tua causa per fasciar la tua piaga; tu non hai medicamenti atti a guarirla.
14 All thy louers haue forgotten thee: they seeke thee not: for I haue striken thee with the wound of an enemie, and with a sharpe chastisement for ye multitude of thine iniquities, because thy sinnes were increased.
Tutti i tuoi amanti t’hanno dimenticata, non si curano più di te; poiché io t’ho percossa come si percuote un nemico, t’ho inflitto la correzione d’un uomo crudele, per la grandezza della tua iniquità, perché i tuoi peccati sono andati aumentando.
15 Why cryest thou for thine affliction? thy sorowe is incurable, for the multitude of thine iniquities: because thy sinnes were increased, I haue done these things vnto thee.
Perché gridi a causa della tua ferita? Il tuo dolore è insanabile. Io ti ho fatto queste cose per la grandezza della tua iniquità, perché i tuoi peccati sono andati aumentando.
16 Therefore all they that deuoure thee, shall be deuoured, and all thine enemies euery one shall goe into captiuitie: and they that spoyle thee, shalbe spoyled, and all they that robbe thee, wil I giue to be robbed.
Nondimeno, tutti quelli che ti divorano saran divorati, tutti i tuoi nemici, tutti quanti, andranno in cattività; quelli che ti spogliano saranno spogliati, quelli che ti saccheggiano li abbandonerò al saccheggio.
17 For I will restore health vnto thee, and I will heale thee of thy woundes, saith the Lord, because they called thee, The cast away, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Ma io medicherò le tue ferite, ti guarirò delle tue piaghe, dice l’Eterno, poiché ti chiaman “la scacciata”, “la Sion di cui nessuno si cura”.
18 Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I will bring againe the captiuitie of Iaakobs tentes, and haue compassion on his dwelling places: and the citie shalbe builded vpon her owne heape, and the palace shall remaine after the maner thereof.
Così parla l’Eterno: Ecco, io traggo dalla cattività le tende di Giacobbe, ed ho pietà delle sue dimore; le città saranno riedificate sulle loro rovine, e i palazzi saranno abitati come di consueto.
19 And out of them shall proceede thankesgiuing, and the voyce of them that are ioyous, and I will multiplie them, and they shall not bee fewe: I will also glorifie them, and they shall not be diminished.
E ne usciranno azioni di grazie, voci di gente festeggiante. Io li moltiplicherò e non saranno più ridotti a pochi; li renderò onorati e non saran più avviliti.
20 Their children also shall be as afore time, and their congregation shall be established before me: and I will visite all that vexe them.
I suoi figliuoli saranno come furono un tempo, la sua raunanza sarà stabilita dinanzi a me, e io punirò tutti i loro oppressori.
21 And their noble ruler shall be of themselues, and their gouernour shall proceede from the middes of them, and I will cause him to draw neere, and approche vnto me: for who is this that directeth his heart to come vnto mee, saith the Lord?
Il loro principe sarà uno d’essi, e chi li signoreggerà uscirà di mezzo a loro; io lo farò avvicinare, ed egli verrà a me; poiché chi disporrebbe il suo cuore ad accostarsi a me? dice l’Eterno.
22 And ye shall be my people, and I will bee your God.
Voi sarete mio popolo, e io sarò vostro Dio.
23 Beholde, the tempest of the Lord goeth foorth with wrath: the whirlewinde that hangeth ouer, shall light vpon the head of the wicked.
Ecco la tempesta dell’Eterno; il furore scoppia; la tempesta imperversa; scroscia sul capo degli empi.
24 The fierce wrath of the Lord shall not returne, vntill he haue done, and vntill he haue performed the intents of his heart: in the latter dayes ye shall vnderstand it.
L’ardente ira dell’Eterno non s’acqueterà, finché non abbia eseguiti, compiuti i disegni del suo cuore; negli ultimi giorni, lo capirete.
