Jeremiah 29
1 Now these are the wordes of the booke that Ieremiah the Prophet sent from Ierusalem vnto the residue of the Elders which were caryed away captiues, and to the Priestes, and to the Prophets, and to all the people whome Nebuchad-nezzar had caried away captiue from Ierusalem to Babel:
Dies ist der Inhalt des Briefs, den der Prophet Jeremia von Jerusalem aus an die Vornehmsten der Gefangenen und an die Priester und an die Propheten und an das gesamte Volk, die Nebukadnezar von Jerusalem nach Babel weggeführt hatte, absandte,
2 (After that Ieconiah the King, and the Queene, and the eunuches, the princes of Iudah, and of Ierusalem, and the workemen, and cunning men were departed from Ierusalem)
(nachdem der König Jechonja nebst der Herrin und den Kämmerern, den obersten Beamten Judas und Jerusalems und den Schmieden und den Schlossern Jerusalem verlassen hatte),
3 By the hand of Elasah the sonne of Shaphan and Gemariah the sonne of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah King of Iudah sent vnto Babel to Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel) saying,
und zwar durch Vermittelung Eleasas, des Sohnes Saphans, und Gemarjas, des Sohnes Hilkias, die Zedekia, der König von Juda, an Nebukadnezar, den König von Babel, nach Babel schickte:
4 Thus hath the Lord of hostes the God of Israel spoken vnto all that are caryed away captiues, whome I haue caused to be caryed away captiues from Ierusalem vnto Babel:
So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, zu allen den Gefangenen, die ich aus Jerusalem nach Babel weggeführt habe:
5 Buylde you houses to dwell in, and plant you gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
Baut Häuser und wohnt darin, pflanzt Gärten und genießt ihre Früchte!
6 Take you wiues, and beget sonnes and daughters, and take wiues for your sonnes, and giue your daughters to husbands, that they may beare sonnes and daughters, that ye may bee increased there, and not diminished.
Nehmt Weiber und zeugt Söhne und Töchter, und nehmt für eure Söhne Weiber und verheiratet eure Töchter, daß sie Söhne und Töchter gebären, und ihr euch dort mehret und nicht weniger werdet!
7 And seeke the prosperitie of the citie, whither I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, and pray vnto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall you haue peace.
Kümmert euch um die Wohlfahrt der Stadt, in die ich euch weggeführt habe, und betet für sie zu Jahwe; denn ihre Wohlfahrt ist eure eigene Wohlfahrt!
8 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Let not your prophets, and your southsayers that bee among you, deceiue you, neither giue eare to your dreames, which you dreame.
Denn so spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Laßt euch nicht bethören von euren Propheten, die unter euch sind, und von euren Wahrsagern, noch schenkt euren Träumen, die ihr träumt, Glauben.
9 For they prophecie you a lie in my Name: I haue not sent them, saith the Lord.
Denn sie weissagen euch trügerisch in meinem Namen; ich habe sie nicht gesandt! - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
10 But thus saith the Lord, That after seuentie yeeres be accomplished at Babel, I will visite you, and performe my good promise toward you, and cause you to returne to this place.
Denn so spricht Jahwe: Erst wenn volle siebzig Jahre für Babel dahingegangen sind, werde ich euch heimsuchen und meine freundliche Zusage, euch an diesen Ort zurückzuführen, an euch verwirklichen.
11 For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.
Denn ich bin mir wohl bewußt der Gedanken, die ich gegen euch hege - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, Gedanken zum Heil und nicht zum Unheil, euch eine hoffnungsreiche Zukunft zu gewähren!
12 Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you,
Dann werdet ihr mich anrufen und hingehen und zu mir beten, und ich werde euch erhören;
13 And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.
und ihr werdet mich suchen und finden. Wenn ihr mich von ganzem Herzen sucht,
14 And I wil be found of you, saith the Lord, and I will turne away your captiuitie, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places, whither I haue cast you, saith the Lord, and will bring you againe vnto the place, whence I caused you to be caryed away captiue.
so will ich mich von euch finden lassen - ist der Spruch Jahwes - und will euer Geschick wenden und euch aus allen Völkern und aus allen Orten, wohin ich euch verstoßen habe, sammeln - ist der Spruch Jahwes - und euch an den Ort zurückbringen, von dem ich euch weggeführt habe!
15 Because ye haue sayd, The Lord hath raised vs vp Prophets in Babel,
Wenn ihr indes sagt: Jahwe hat uns auch zu Babel Propheten erweckt!
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the King, that sitteth vpon the throne of Dauid, and of all the people, that dwell in this citie, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captiuitie:
Denn so spricht Jahwe in betreff des Königs, der auf Davids Throne sitzt, und in betreff des gesamten Volks, das in dieser Stadt wohnt, eurer Brüder, die nicht mit euch in die Gefangenschaft gezogen sind, -
17 Euen thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will sende vpon them the sworde, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figges, that cannot bee eaten, they are so naughtie.
so spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen: Fürwahr, ich will wider sie das Schwert, den Hunger und die Pest loslassen und sie sauren Feigen gleich machen, die so schlecht sind, daß man sie nicht genießen kann,
18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence: and I will make them a terror to all kingdomes of the earth, and a curse, and astonishment and an hissing, and a reproche among all the nations whither I haue cast them,
und will mit dem Schwerte, mit dem Hunger und mit der Pest hinter ihnen dreinjagen und sie zu einem Schreckbilde für alle Königreiche der Erde machen, zu einem Gegenstande des Fluchs und des Entsetzens und des Gezisches und der Beschimpfung unter allen den Völkern, unter die ich sie verstoßen habe,
19 Because they haue not hearde my words, saith the Lord, which I sent vnto them by my seruantes the Prophetes, rising vp earely, and sending them, but yee woulde not heare, saith the Lord.
dafür, daß sie nicht auf meine Worte gehört haben - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, womit ich meine Knechte, die Propheten, unermüdlich immer wieder zu ihnen gesandt habe, ohne daß ihr hörtet, - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
20 Heare ye therefore the word of the Lord all ye of the captiuitie, whome I haue sent from Ierusalem to Babel.
Ihr aber, vernehmt das Wort Jahwes, ihr Gefangenen all', die ich von Jerusalem nach Babel fortgeschickt habe:
21 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, of Ahab the sonne of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the sonne of Maaseiah, which prophecie lyes vnto you in my Name, Beholde, I will deliuer them into the hande of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and he shall slay them before your eyes.
So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, in betreff Ahabs, des Sohnes Kolajas, und in betreff Zedekias, des Sohnes Maasejas, die euch in meinem Namen Lügen weissagen: Fürwahr, ich will sie in die Gewalt Nebukadrezars, des Königs von Babel, überliefern, daß er sie vor euren Augen hinrichten lasse!
22 And al they of the captiuitie of Iudah, that are in Babel, shall take vp this curse against them, and say, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whome the King of Babel burnt in the fire,
Sie aber werden für sämtliche Gefangene Judas in Babel Anlaß zu einem Fluchworte geben, des Inhalts: “Jahwe mache dich Zedekia und Ahab gleich, die der König von Babel im Feuer geröstet hat!”
23 Because they haue committed vilenie in Israel, and haue committed adulterie with their neighbours wiues, and haue spoken lying words in my Name, which I haue not commanded them, euen I knowe it, and testifie it, saith the Lord.
Weil sie Ruchlosigkeit in Israel verübt und mit den Weibern ihrer Freunde Ehebruch getrieben und in meinem Namen Worte geredet haben, die ich ihnen nicht geboten hatte: - ja, ich selbst bin des kundig und Zeuge! - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
24 Thou shalt also speake to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
Zu Semaja aus Nehalam aber sprich also:
25 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy Name vnto all the people, that are at Ierusalem, and to Zephaniah the sonne of Maaseiah the Priest, and to all the Priests, saying,
So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Weil du in deinem eigenen Namen einen Brief an das ganze Volk in Jerusalem und an den Priester Zephanja, den Sohn Maasejas, und an sämtliche Priester gesandt hast, des Inhalts:
26 The Lord hath made thee Priest for Iehoiada the Priest, that yee should bee officers in the House of the Lord, for euery man that raueth and maketh himselfe a Prophet, to put him in prison and in the stockes.
Jahwe hat dich an Stelle des Priesters Jojada zum Priester gesetzt, damit du im Tempel Jahwes auf jeden Verrückten und vom Prophetentaumel Ergriffenen wohl acht habest und solche in den Block und das Halseisen legest!
27 Nowe therefore why hast not thou reproued Ieremiah of Anathoth, which prophecieth vnto you?
Warum bist du denn da nicht gegen Jeremia aus Anathoth eingeschritten, der bei euch vom Prophetentaumel ergriffen ist?
28 For, for this cause hee sent vnto vs in Babel, saying, This captiuitie is long: buyld houses to dwell in, and plant gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
Hätte er sonst wohl eine Botschaft an uns nach Babel geschickt, des Inhalts: Es währt noch lange! Baut Häuser und wohnt darin, pflanzt Gärten und genießt ihre Früchte!
29 And Zephaniah the Priest red this letter in the eares of Ieremiah the Prophet.
Der Priester Zephanja aber las diesen Brief dem Propheten Jeremia persönlich vor.
30 Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
Da erging das Wort Jahwes an Jeremia, also lautend:
31 Send to all them of the captiuitie, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah hath prophecied vnto you, and I sent him not, and hee caused you to trust in a lye,
Laß sämtlichen Gefangenen die Botschaft zugehen: So spricht Jahwe in betreff Semajas aus Nehalam: Weil euch Semaja geweissagt hat, ohne daß ich ihn gesandt habe, und euch verleitet hat, euch auf Lügen zu verlassen,
32 Therefore thus saieth the Lord, Behold, I wil visite Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seede: hee shall not haue a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he beholde the good, that I will doe for my people, sayth the Lord, because he hath spoken rebelliously against the Lord.
darum spricht Jahwe also: Fürwahr, ich will das an Semaja aus Nehalam und seinen Nachkommen ahnden! Er soll keinen Nachkommen haben, der inmitten dieses Volks wohnen bliebe, noch soll er das Gute erleben, das ich meinem Volke bereiten werde - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, denn er hat Auflehnung wider Jahwe gepredigt!
