Jeremiah 25

1 The word that came to Ieremiah, concerning all the people of Iudah in the fourth yeere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah that was in the first yeere of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel:

در سال چهارم سلطنت یهویاقیم (پسر یوشیا)، پادشاه یهودا، پیغامی برای تمام مردم یهودا، از جانب خدا بر من نازل شد. در این سال بود که نِبوکَدنِصَّر، پادشاه بابِل، به سلطنت رسید.

2 The which Ieremiah the Prophet spake vnto all the people of Iudah, and to all the inhabitants of Ierusalem, saying,

به تمام مردم یهودا و اهالی اورشلیم چنین گفتم: «از سال سیزدهم سلطنت یوشیا (پسر آمون)، پادشاه یهودا، تا به حال که بیست و سه سال می‌گذرد، کلام خداوند بر من نازل شده است؛ من نیز با کمال وفاداری آنها را به شما اعلام کرده‌ام، ولی شما گوش نداده‌اید.

3 From the thirteenth yeere of Iosiah the sonne of Amon King of Iudah, euen vnto this day (that is the three and twentieth yeere) the word of the Lord hath come vnto mee, and I haue spoken vnto you rising earely and speaking, but ye woulde not heare.

4 And the Lord hath sent vnto you all his seruantes the Prophets, rising early and sending them, but yee would not heare, nor encline your eares to obey.

خداوند همواره انبیای خود را نزد شما فرستاده است، ولی شما توجهی نکرده‌اید و نخواسته‌اید گوش بدهید.

5 They sayde, Turne againe now euery one from his euill way, and from the wickednes of your inuentions, and ye shall dwell in the lande that the Lord hath giuen vnto you, and to your fathers for euer and euer.

آنها به شما می‌گفتند که از راههای بد و از کارهای شرارت‌بارتان دست بکشید تا خداوند اجازه دهد در این سرزمینی که برای همیشه به شما و به اجدادتان داده است، زندگی کنید.

6 And go not after other gods to serue them and to worshippe them, and prouoke me not to anger with the workes of your hands, and I will not punish you.

آنها از شما می‌خواستند که به دنبال بت‌پرستی نروید و با این کارها، خشم خداوند را شعله‌ور نسازید، مبادا شما را مجازات کند؛

7 Neuerthelesse ye would not heare me, saith the Lord, but haue prouoked mee to anger with the workes of your hands to your owne hurt.

ولی شما گوش ندادید و با پرستش بتهایی که با دست خود ساخته بودید به آتش خشم خداوند دامن زدید تا بر شما بلا نازل نماید.

8 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes, Because ye haue not heard my wordes,

«حال، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید:”چون از من اطاعت ننمودید، من نیز تمام اقوام شمال را به رهبری نِبوکَدنِصَّر، پادشاه بابِل، که او را برای این کار برگزیده‌ام، گرد خواهم آورد تا بر این سرزمین و بر ساکنانش و نیز بر اقوام مجاور شما هجوم بیاورند و شما را به کلی نابود کنند، طوری که برای همیشه انگشت‌نما و رسوا شوید!

9 Beholde, I will send and take to mee all the families of the North, saith the Lord, and Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and will bring them against this lande, and against the inhabitantes thereof, and against all these nations rounde about, and will destroy them, and make them an astonishment and an hissing, and a continuall desolation.

10 Moreouer I will take from them the voyce of mirth and the voyce of gladnesse, the voyce of the bridegrome and the voyce of the bride, the noise of the milstones, and the light of the candle.

خوشی و شادی و جشنهای عروسی را از شما دور خواهم ساخت؛ نه گندمی در آسیابها باقی خواهد ماند و نه روغنی برای روشن کردن چراغ خانه!

11 And this whole land shalbe desolate, and an astonishment, and these nations shall serue the King of Babel seuentie yeeres.

سراسر این سرزمین، به ویرانه‌ای متروک تبدیل خواهد شد؛ و شما و اقوام مجاور شما، برای مدت هفتاد سال، پادشاه بابِل را بندگی و خدمت خواهید کرد.“

12 And when the seuentie yeres are accomplished, I will visite the King of Babel and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquities, euen the land of the Caldeans, and will make it a perpetuall desolation,

«پس از پایان این هفتاد سال، پادشاه بابِل و قوم او را به خاطر گناهانشان مجازات خواهم نمود و سرزمین ایشان را به ویرانه‌ای ابدی تبدیل خواهم کرد،

13 And I will bring vpon that lande all my wordes which I haue pronounced against it, euen all that is written in this booke, which Ieremiah hath prophecied against all nations.

و تمام بلاهایی را که توسط ارمیا بر ضد اقوام گفته بودم بر سر بابِلی‌ها خواهم آورد؛ بله، تمام بلاهایی که در این کتاب نوشته شده است.

14 For many nations, and great Kings shall euen serue themselues of them: thus will I recompense them according to their deedes, and according to the workes of their owne handes.

همان‌طور که ایشان قوم مرا اسیر کردند، اقوام مختلف و پادشاهان بزرگ نیز آنها را به اسارت خواهند برد، و من مطابق کارها و رفتارشان، مجازاتشان خواهم کرد.»

15 For thus hath the Lord God of Israel spoken vnto me, Take the cuppe of wine of this mine indignation at mine hand, and cause all the nations, to whome I sende thee, to drinke it.

آنگاه خداوند، خدای اسرائیل به من فرمود: «این جام شراب را که از خشم و غضب من لبریز شده است، بگیر و به تمام قومهایی که تو را نزد آنها می‌فرستم بنوشان

16 And they shall drinke, and be moued and be mad, because of the sworde that I will sende among them.

تا همه از آن نوشیده، گیج شوند. ایشان در اثر جنگی که من علیه آنها بر پا می‌کنم دیوانه خواهند گردید.»

17 Then tooke I the cup at the Lordes hand, and made all people to drinke, vnto whome the Lord had sent me:

پس جام خشم و غضب را از خداوند گرفتم و به تمام اقوامی که خداوند مرا نزد آنها فرستاد، نوشانیدم.

18 Euen Ierusalem, and the cities of Iudah, and the Kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them desolate, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse, as appeareth this day:

به اورشلیم و شهرهای یهودا رفتم و پادشاهان و بزرگانشان از آن جام نوشیدند؛ برای همین، از آن روز تا به حال این شهرها ویران، مورد تمسخر، منفور و ملعون هستند.

19 Pharaoh also, King of Egypt, and his seruants, and his princes, and all his people:

به مصر رفتم. پادشاه مصر و درباریان او، بزرگان و قوم او و بیگانگان مقیم مصر از آن جام نوشیدند. پادشاهان سرزمین عوص و پادشاهان شهرهای فلسطین هم از آن نوشیدند، یعنی شهرهای اشقلون، غزه، عقرون و باقیماندهٔ شهر اشدود.

20 And all sortes of people, and all the Kings of the lande of Vz: and all the Kings of the lande of the Philistims, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod:

21 Edom, and Moab, and the Ammonites,

به سراغ قومهای ادوم، موآب و عمون هم رفتم.

22 And all the Kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the Kings of the Yles, that are beyonde the Sea,

تمام پادشاهان صور و صیدون، و پادشاهان سرزمینهای دریای مدیترانه،

23 And Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that dwell in the vttermost corners,

ددان، تیما، بوز و مردمی که در نقاط دوردست زندگی می‌کنند

24 And all the Kings of Arabia, and all the Kings of Arabia, that dwell in the desert,

تمام پادشاهان عرب، قبایل چادرنشین بیابانها،

25 And all the Kings of Zimri, and all the Kings of Elam, and all the Kings of the Medes,

پادشاهان زمری، عیلام و ماد،

26 And all the Kings of the North, farre and neere one to another, and all the kingdomes of the worlde, which are vpon the earth, and the king of Sheshach shall drinke after them.

تمام پادشاهان سرزمینهای دور و نزدیک شمال و همهٔ ممالک جهان یکی پس از دیگری از آن جام نوشیدند و سرانجام خود پادشاه بابِل هم از آن جام غضب الهی نوشید.

27 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Drinke and bee drunken, and spewe and fall, and rise no more, because of the sworde, which I will sende among you.

سپس خداوند به من فرمود: «به ایشان بگو،”خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌فرماید: از این جام غضب من بنوشید تا مست شوید و قی کنید، به زمین بیفتید و دیگر برنخیزید، زیرا شما را به مصیبت و جنگ گرفتار خواهم نمود.“

28 But if they refuse to take the cuppe at thine hande to drinke, then tell them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Ye shall certainely drinke.

و اگر نخواهند جام را بگیرند و بنوشند، به ایشان بگو:”خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: باید بنوشید!

29 For loe, I beginne to plague the citie, where my Name is called vpon, and shoulde you goe free? Ye shall not goe quite: for I will call for a sword vpon al the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hostes.

من مجازات را از قوم خود شروع کرده‌ام؛ پس آیا فکر می‌کنید شما بی‌مجازات خواهید ماند؟ یقین بدانید که مجازات خواهید شد. من بر تمام مردم روی زمین، بلای شمشیر و جنگ خواهم فرستاد.“» این است فرمودۀ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان.

30 Therefore prophecie thou against them al these words, and say vnto them, The Lord shall roare from aboue, and thrust out his voyce from his holy habitation: he shall roare vpon his habitation, and crie aloude, as they that presse the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

«پس علیه آنها پیشگویی کن و به ایشان بگو که خداوند از جایگاه مقدّس خود در آسمان بر قومش و تمام ساکنان جهان بانگ برمی‌آورد؛ بانگ او مانند فریاد انگورچینانی است که انگور را زیر پا له می‌کنند.

31 The sounde shall come to the endes of the earth: for the Lord hath a controuersie with the nations, and will enter into iudgement with all flesh, and he will giue them that are wicked, to the sworde, saith the Lord.

فریاد داوری خداوند به دورترین نقاط دنیا می‌رسد، چون او علیه تمام قومهای جهان اقامه دعوی می‌کند. او هر انسانی را محاکمه خواهد کرد و تمام بدکاران را به مرگ تسلیم خواهد نمود.»

32 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Behold, a plague shall goe foorth from nation to nation, and a great whirlewinde shalbe raised vp from the coastes of the earth,

خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: «بلا و مکافات مانند گردبادی عظیم، قومها را یکی پس از دیگری در هم خواهد کوبید و به همهٔ کرانهای زمین خواهد رسید.

33 And the slaine of the Lord shall be at that day, from one ende of the earth, euen vnto the other ende of the earth: they shall not bee mourned, neither gathered nor buried, but shalbe as the dongue vpon the grounde.

در آن روز جنازهای کسانی که خداوند کشته است، سراسر زمین را پر خواهند ساخت؛ کسی برای آنها عزاداری نخواهد کرد؛ جنازه‌هایشان را نیز جمع‌آوری و دفن نخواهند نمود بلکه مانند فضله بر روی زمین باقی خواهند ماند.»

34 Howle, ye shepherdes, and crie, and wallowe your selues in the ashes, ye principall of the flocke: for your dayes of slaughter are accomplished, and of your dispersion, and ye shall fall like precious vessels.

ای رهبران و ای شبانان قومها، گریه کنید و فریاد برآورید و در خاک بغلتید، چون زمان آوارگی و هلاکتتان فرا رسیده است؛ مثل ظروف مرغوب، خواهید افتاد و خرد خواهید شد؛

35 And the flight shall faile from the shepherdes, and the escaping from the principall of the flocke.

راه فرار و پناهگاهی نیز برایتان وجود نخواهد داشت.

36 A voyce of the crye of the shepherdes, and an howling of the principall of the flocke shalbe heard: for the Lord hath destroyed their pasture.

صدای گریۀ شبانان و شیون صاحبان گله به گوش می‌رسد، زیرا خداوند چراگاههایشان را خراب کرده و مملکت شما را که در آرامش بود، ویران نموده است.

37 And the best pastures are destroyed because of the wrath and indignation of the Lord.

38 He hath forsaken his couert, as the lyon: for their land is waste, because of the wrath of the oppressor, and because of ye wrath of his indignatio.

خداوند شما را ترک کرده، همانند شیری که لانهٔ خود را ترک می‌گوید؛ در اثر خشم شدید او، سرزمینتان در جنگها، ویران و با خاک یکسان شده است.
