Jeremiah 16
1 The worde of the Lord came also vnto mee, saying,
| بار دیگر خداوند با من سخن گفت و فرمود: |
2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, nor haue sonnes nor daughters in this place.
| «تو نباید در چنین مکانی ازدواج کنی و صاحب فرزند شوی، |
3 For thus sayeth the Lord concerning the sonnes, and concerning the daughters that are borne in this place, and concerning their mothers that beare them, and concerning their fathers, that beget them in this land,
| چون کودکانی که در اینجا به دنیا بیایند همراه پدران و مادرانشان |
4 They shall die of deathes and diseases: they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried, but they shalbe as dung vpon the earth, and they shalbe consumed by the sword, and by famine, and their carkeises shall be meate for the foules of the heauen, and for the beasts of the earth.
| در اثر بیماریهای کشنده خواهند مرد؛ کسی برای آنها ماتم نخواهد گرفت؛ جنازه‌هایشان دفن نخواهند شد بلکه همچون فضله بر روی زمین باقی خواهند ماند. آنها در اثر جنگ و قحطی کشته خواهند شد و لاشه‌هایشان را لاشخورها و جانوران خواهند خورد. |
5 For thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither goe to lament, nor be moued for the: for I haue taken my peace, from this people, saith the Lord, euen mercy and compassion.
| من برکت خود را از ایشان گرفته‌ام و از احسان و رحمت خود محرومشان کرده‌ام؛ پس تو برای آنها نه ماتم بگیر و نه گریه کن! |
6 Both the great, and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them nor cut themselues, nor make themselues balde for them.
| در این سرزمین چه ثروتمند و چه فقیر، همه خواهند مرد، ولی جنازه‌هایشان دفن نخواهند شد؛ نه کسی برای آنها ماتم خواهد گرفت، نه خود را برای ایشان مجروح خواهد کرد و نه موهای سرش را خواهد تراشید، |
7 They shall not stretch out the hands for the in the mourning to comfort them for the dead, neither shall they giue them the cup of consolation to drinke for their father or for their mother.
| و نه کسی برای تسلی‌شان با آنها بر سر سفره خواهد نشست؛ حتی در مرگ والدینشان نیز هیچ‌کس با ایشان همدردی نخواهد کرد! |
8 Thou shalt not also goe into the house of feasting to sit with them to eate and to drinke.
| «پس تو از هم اکنون دیگر در مهمانیها و جشنهای آنها شرکت نکن، و حتی با ایشان غذا هم نخور! |
9 For thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Beholde, I wil cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, euen in your dayes the voyce of myrth, and the voyce of gladnes, the voyce of the bridegrome and the voyce of the bride.
| چون من، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای بنی‌اسرائیل در طول زندگی‌تان و در برابر چشمانتان، به تمام خنده‌ها و خوشیها، به همۀ نغمه‌های شاد، و همهٔ جشنهای عروسی پایان خواهم داد. |
10 And when thou shalt shewe this people all these wordes, and they shall say vnto thee, Wherefore hath the Lord pronounced all this great plague against vs? or what is our iniquitie? and what is our sinne that we haue committed against the Lord our God?
| «وقتی تمام این چیزها را به مردم بازگو کنی، خواهند پرسید:”چرا خداوند چنین مجازات سختی برای ما در نظر گرفته است؟ مگر تقصیرمان چیست؟ به یهوه خدای‌مان چه گناهی کرده‌ایم؟“ |
11 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Because your fathers haue forsaken me, sayth the Lord, and haue walked after other gods, and haue serued them, and worshipped them, and haue forsaken me, and haue not kept my Law,
| آنگاه به ایشان بگو که خداوند چنین پاسخ می‌دهد:”علّت این است که پدران شما مرا ترک کرده، از بتها پیروی نمودند و قوانین مرا اطاعت نکردند. |
12 (And ye haue done worse then your fathers: for beholde, you walke euery one after the stubbernesse of his wicked heart, and will not heare me)
| ولی شما از پدرانتان هم بدکارتر هستید. شما در پی هوسهای گناه‌آلود خود می‌روید و نمی‌خواهید مرا پیروی کنید؛ |
13 Therefore will I driue you out of this land into a lande that ye knowe not, neither you, nor your fathers, and there shall ye serue other gods day and night: for I will shew you no grace.
| از این رو شما را از این سرزمین بیرون انداخته، به سرزمینی خواهم راند که هرگز نه خود شما آنجا بوده‌اید و نه اجدادتان؛ در آنجا می‌توانید شبانه روز به بت‌پرستی بپردازید و من هم دیگر بر شما رحم نخواهم نمود.“» |
14 Behold therfore, saith the Lord, the dayes come that it shall no more be sayde, The Lord liueth, which brought vp the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt,
| با این حال خداوند می‌فرماید: «زمانی می‌آید که مردم هرگاه بخواهند در مورد کارهای شگفت‌انگیز من گفتگو کنند، دیگر اعمال عجیب مرا به هنگام بیرون آوردن بنی‌اسرائیل از مصر، ذکر نخواهند نمود، بلکه در این باره سخن خواهند گفت که من چگونه بنی‌اسرائیل را از سرزمین شمال و همۀ سرزمینهایی که ایشان را به آنها رانده بودم، باز آورده‌ام. بله، من ایشان را به سرزمینی که به پدرانشان داده‌ام باز خواهم گرداند!» |
15 But the Lord liueth, that brought vp the children of Israel from the lande of the North, and from all the landes where hee had scattered them, and I wil bring them againe into their land that I gaue vnto their fathers.
16 Behold, sayth the Lord, I wil send out many fishers, and they shall fish them, and after, will I send out many hunters, and they shall hunt them from euery mountaine and from euery hill, and out of the caues of the rockes.
| خداوند می‌فرماید: «اکنون به دنبال ماهیگیران بسیار می‌فرستم تا بیایند و شما را از اعماق دریا که در آنجا از ترس خشم من خود را پنهان کرده‌اید، صید کنند! همچنین به دنبال شکارچیان بسیار خواهم فرستاد تا شما را شکار کنند، همان‌گونه که گوزن را در کوهها و تپه‌ها، و بز کوهی را در میان صخره‌ها شکار می‌کنند. |
17 For mine eyes are vpon al their wayes: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquitie hid from mine eyes.
| من با دقت مراقب رفتار شما هستم و هیچ عمل شما از نظر من مخفی نیست؛ هرگز نمی‌توانید گناهانتان را از من پنهان کنید؛ |
18 And first I will recompense their iniquitie and their sinne double, because they haue defiled my lande, and haue filled mine inheritance with their filthie carions and their abominations.
| من به سبب همهٔ آنها شما را دو برابر مجازات می‌کنم، چون با بتهای نفرت‌انگیز خود، زمین مرا آلوده کرده‌اید و آن را با اعمال بدتان پر ساخته‌اید.» |
19 O Lord, thou art my force, and my strength and my refuge in the day of affliction: the Gentiles shall come vnto thee from the ends of the world, and shall say, Surely our fathers haue inherited lies, and vanitie, wherein was no profite.
| ای خداوند، ای قوت من، ای پشتیبان من، که به هنگام سختی پناهگاهم هستی، قومها از سراسر جهان نزد تو آمده، خواهند گفت: «پدران ما چقدر نادان بودند که خدایان پوچ و دروغین را پیروی می‌کردند! |
20 Shall a man make gods vnto himselfe, and they are no gods?
| آیا انسان می‌تواند برای خود خدا بسازد؟ بُتی که به دست انسان ساخته شود خدا نیست!» |
21 Beholde, therefore I will this once teach them: I will shewe them mine hande and my power, and they shall know that my Name is the Lord.
| خداوند می‌گوید: «قدرت و توانایی خود را به آنها نشان خواهم داد و سرانجام به ایشان خواهم فهماند که تنها من خداوند هستم.» |
