Jeremiah 16

1 The worde of the Lord came also vnto mee, saying,

Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:

2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, nor haue sonnes nor daughters in this place.

Du sollst kein Weib nehmen und weder Söhne noch Töchter zeugen an diesem Ort.

3 For thus sayeth the Lord concerning the sonnes, and concerning the daughters that are borne in this place, and concerning their mothers that beare them, and concerning their fathers, that beget them in this land,

Denn so spricht der HERR von den Söhnen und Töchtern, so an diesem Ort geboren werden, dazu von ihren Müttern, die sie gebären, und von ihren Vätern, die sie zeugen in diesem Lande:

4 They shall die of deathes and diseases: they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried, but they shalbe as dung vpon the earth, and they shalbe consumed by the sword, and by famine, and their carkeises shall be meate for the foules of the heauen, and for the beasts of the earth.

Sie sollen an Krankheiten sterben und weder beklagt noch begraben werden, sondern sollen Mist werden auf dem Lande, dazu durch Schwert und Hunger umkommen, und ihre Leichname sollen der Vögel des Himmels und der Tiere auf Erden Speise sein.

5 For thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither goe to lament, nor be moued for the: for I haue taken my peace, from this people, saith the Lord, euen mercy and compassion.

Denn so spricht der HERR: Du sollst nicht zum Trauerhaus gehen und sollst auch nirgendhin zu klagen gehen noch Mitleid über sie haben; denn ich habe meinen Frieden von diesem Volk weggenommen, spricht der HERR, samt meiner Gnade und Barmherzigkeit,

6 Both the great, and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them nor cut themselues, nor make themselues balde for them.

daß beide, groß und klein, sollen in diesem Lande sterben und nicht begraben noch geklaget werden, und niemand wird sich über sie zerritzen noch kahl machen.

7 They shall not stretch out the hands for the in the mourning to comfort them for the dead, neither shall they giue them the cup of consolation to drinke for their father or for their mother.

Und man wird auch nicht unter sie Brot austeilen über der Klage, sie zu trösten über der Leiche, und ihnen auch nicht aus dem Trostbecher zu trinken geben über Vater und Mutter.

8 Thou shalt not also goe into the house of feasting to sit with them to eate and to drinke.

Darum sollst du in kein Trinkhaus gehen, bei ihnen zu sitzen, weder zu essen noch zu trinken.

9 For thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Beholde, I wil cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, euen in your dayes the voyce of myrth, and the voyce of gladnes, the voyce of the bridegrome and the voyce of the bride.

Denn so spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will an diesem Ort aufheben vor euren Augen und bei eurem Leben die Stimme der Freude und Wonne, die Stimme des Bräutigams und der Braut.

10 And when thou shalt shewe this people all these wordes, and they shall say vnto thee, Wherefore hath the Lord pronounced all this great plague against vs? or what is our iniquitie? and what is our sinne that we haue committed against the Lord our God?

Und wenn du solches alles diesem Volk gesagt hast, und sie zu dir sprechen werden: Warum redet der HERR über uns all dies große Unglück? welches ist die Missetat und Sünde, damit wir wider den HERRN, unsern Gott, gesündiget haben?

11 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Because your fathers haue forsaken me, sayth the Lord, and haue walked after other gods, and haue serued them, and worshipped them, and haue forsaken me, and haue not kept my Law,

sollst du ihnen sagen: Darum daß eure Väter mich verlassen, spricht der HERR, und andern Göttern gefolget, denselbigen gedienet und sie angebetet, mich aber verlassen und mein Gesetz nicht gehalten haben,

12 (And ye haue done worse then your fathers: for beholde, you walke euery one after the stubbernesse of his wicked heart, and will not heare me)

und ihr noch ärger tut denn eure Väter. Denn siehe, ein jeglicher lebt nach seines bösen Herzens Gedünken, daß er mir nicht gehorche.

13 Therefore will I driue you out of this land into a lande that ye knowe not, neither you, nor your fathers, and there shall ye serue other gods day and night: for I will shew you no grace.

Darum will ich euch aus diesem Lande stoßen in ein Land, davon weder ihr noch eure Väter wissen; daselbst sollt ihr andern Göttern dienen Tag und Nacht; daselbst will ich euch keine Gnade erzeigen.

14 Behold therfore, saith the Lord, the dayes come that it shall no more be sayde, The Lord liueth, which brought vp the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt,

Darum siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß man nicht mehr sagen wird: So wahr der HERR lebt, der die Kinder Israel aus Ägyptenland geführet hat,

15 But the Lord liueth, that brought vp the children of Israel from the lande of the North, and from all the landes where hee had scattered them, and I wil bring them againe into their land that I gaue vnto their fathers.

sondern: So wahr der HERR lebt, der die Kinder Israel geführet hat aus dem Lande der Mitternacht und aus allen Ländern, dahin er sie verstoßen hatte. Denn ich will sie wiederbringen in das Land, das ich ihren Vätern gegeben habe.

16 Behold, sayth the Lord, I wil send out many fishers, and they shall fish them, and after, will I send out many hunters, and they shall hunt them from euery mountaine and from euery hill, and out of the caues of the rockes.

Siehe, ich will viel Fischer aussenden, spricht der HERR, die sollen sie fischen; und danach will ich viel Jäger aussenden, die sollen sie fahen auf allen Bergen und auf allen Hügeln und in allen Steinritzen.

17 For mine eyes are vpon al their wayes: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquitie hid from mine eyes.

Denn meine Augen sehen auf alle ihre Wege, daß sie vor mir sich nicht verhehlen können; und ihre Missetat ist vor meinen Augen unverborgen.

18 And first I will recompense their iniquitie and their sinne double, because they haue defiled my lande, and haue filled mine inheritance with their filthie carions and their abominations.

Aber zuvor will ich ihre Missetat und Sünde zwiefach bezahlen, darum daß sie mein Land mit den Leichen ihrer Abgötterei verunreiniget und mein Erbe mit ihren Greueln voll gemacht haben.

19 O Lord, thou art my force, and my strength and my refuge in the day of affliction: the Gentiles shall come vnto thee from the ends of the world, and shall say, Surely our fathers haue inherited lies, and vanitie, wherein was no profite.

HERR, du bist meine Stärke und Kraft und meine Zuflucht in der Not. Die Heiden werden zu dir kommen von der Welt Ende und sagen: Unsere Väter haben falsche und nichtige Götter gehabt, die nichts nützen können.

20 Shall a man make gods vnto himselfe, and they are no gods?

Wie kann ein Mensch Götter machen, die nicht Götter sind?

21 Beholde, therefore I will this once teach them: I will shewe them mine hande and my power, and they shall know that my Name is the Lord.

Darum siehe, nun will ich sie lehren und meine Hand und Gewalt ihnen kundtun, daß sie erfahren sollen, ich heiße der HERR.
