Isaiah 7
1 And in the dayes of Ahaz, the sonne of Iotham, the sonne of Vzziah king of Iudah, Rezin the King of Aram came vp, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, to Ierusalem to fight against it, but he could not ouercome it.
Fue durante el reinado de Acaz hijo de Jotam, hijo de Uzías, rey de Judá, cuando Rezín, rey de Harán, marchó para atacar Jerusalén. Pecaj, hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, se unió al ataque, pero no pudieron conquistar la ciudad.
2 And it was tolde the house of Dauid, saying, Aram is ioyned with Ephraim: therefore his heart was moued, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moued by the winde.
Cuando la familia real de Judá fue informada, “Harán y Efraín tienen una alianza”, Acaz y su pueblo se aterrorizaron y se estremecieron como árboles en el bosque sacudidos por el viento.
3 Then sayde the Lord vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,
Entonces el Señor dijo a Isaías: “Toma a tu hijo Sear-Jasub contigo y ve al encuentro de Acaz. Estará al final del acueducto del estanque superior, junto al camino del campo de lavado.
4 And say vnto him, Take heede, and be still: feare not, neither be faint hearted for the two tailes of these smoking firebrands, for the furious wrath of Rezin and of Aram, and of Remaliahs sonne:
Dile que se calme y se calle. No tengas miedo ni te asustes por un par de trozos de leña que arden, por la ira ardiente de Rezín y Harán, y del hijo de Remalías.
5 Because Aram hath taken wicked counsell against thee, and Ephraim, and Remaliahs sonne, saying,
Harán ha conspirado para destruirte junto con Efraín y el hijo de Remalías diciendo:
6 Let vs goe vp against Iudah, and let vs waken them vp, and make a breach therein for vs, and set a King in the mids thereof, euen the sonne of Tabeal.
¡Vamos a atacar a Judá! La aterrorizaremos y la conquistaremos para nosotros, y haremos rey al hijo de Tabel”.
7 Thus sayth the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it be.
Pero esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios: “¡Este plan no se concretará, simplemente no sucederá!
8 For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within fiue and threescore yeere, Ephraim shalbe destroyed from being a people.
Porque el jefe de Harán es Damasco, y el jefe de Damasco es Rezín. Además, dentro de sesenta y cinco años Israel como nación será destruida.
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliahs sonne. If ye beleeue not, surely ye shall not be established.
El jefe de Israel es Samaria, y el jefe de Samaria es el hijo de Remalías. Si no confían en mí, no sobrevivirán”.
10 And the Lord spake againe vnto Ahaz, saying,
Más tarde, el Señor envió otro mensaje a Acaz:
11 Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue. (Sheol h7585)
“Pide al Señor, tu Dios, una señal, ya sea tan profunda como donde está enterrada la gente o tan alta como el cielo”. (Sheol h7585)
12 But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.
“No, no voy a pedirla”, respondió Acaz. “Me niego a poner al Señor a prueba”.
13 Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?
Entonces Isaías dijo: “¡Escuchen, familia real de Judá! ¿No les basta con desgastar a la gente? ¿Tienen que desgastar también a mi Dios?
14 Therefore the Lord himselfe will giue you a signe. Beholde, the virgine shall conceiue and beare a sonne, and she shall call his name Immanu-el.
Por eso el Señor mismo les dará una señal. ¡Miren! Una virgen quedará embarazada y dará a luz un hijo, al que llamará Emanuel.
15 Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good.
Comerá leche y miel hasta que sepa rechazar el mal y elegir el bien.
16 For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.
Porque antes de que el niño sepa rechazar el mal y elegir el bien, la tierra de los dos reyes que temes será abandonada.
17 The Lord shall bring vpon thee, and vpon thy people, and vpon thy fathers house (the dayes that haue not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Iudah) euen the King of Asshur.
El Señor hará que tú, tu pueblo y la familia real experimenten un tiempo diferente a todo lo ocurrido desde el día en que Efraín se separó de Judá. Traerá al rey de Asiria para que te ataque!”
18 And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur,
En ese momento el Señor silbará para llamar a las moscas de los lejanos ríos de Egipto y a las abejas del país de Asiria.
19 And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places.
Todas vendrán y descenderán sobre los valles escarpados y las grietas de las rocas, sobre todos los arbustos espinosos y las charcas.
20 In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.
En ese momento el Señor usará una navaja alquilada desde más allá del río Éufrates, el rey de Asiria, para afeitarlos de pies a cabeza, incluyendo sus barbas.
21 And in the same day shall a man nourish a yong kow, and two sheepe.
En ese tiempo, el que logre mantener con vida a una vaca joven y a dos ovejas
22 And for the abundance of milke, that they shall giue, hee shall eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, which is left within the land.
comerá cuajada, porque producen mucha leche; pues todo el que sobreviva en la tierra comerá cuajada y miel.
23 And at the same day euery place, wherein shalbe a thousand vines, shalbe at a thousand pieces of siluer: so it shalbe for the briers and for the thornes.
En aquel tiempo, en todos los lugares donde antes había mil vides que valían mil siclos, sólo habrá zarzas y espinas.
24 With arrowes and with bowe shall one come thither: because all the land shall be briers and thornes.
La gente irá a cazar allí con arcos y flechas porque la tierra estará cubierta de zarzas y espinas.
25 But on all the mountaines, which shalbe digged with the mattocke, there shall not come thither the feare of briers and thornes: but they shalbe for the sending out of bullocks, and for the treading of sheepe.
De hecho, a todas las colinas que antes se cultivaban con la azada no querrán ir porque se preocuparán por las zarzas y los espinos que hay allí. Sólo serán lugares donde se suelta el ganado y donde las ovejas vagan.
