Isaiah 7
1 And in the dayes of Ahaz, the sonne of Iotham, the sonne of Vzziah king of Iudah, Rezin the King of Aram came vp, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, to Ierusalem to fight against it, but he could not ouercome it.
OR avvenne a' dì di Achaz, figliuolo di Iotam, figliuolo di Uzzia, re di Giuda, che Resin, re di Siria, e Peca, figliuolo di Remalia, re d'Israele, salirono a mano armata contro a Gerusalemme; ma non poterono espugnarla.
2 And it was tolde the house of Dauid, saying, Aram is ioyned with Ephraim: therefore his heart was moued, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moued by the winde.
Or ciò fu rapportato alla Casa di Davide, dicendo: La Siria si [è] riposata sopra Efraim. E il cuor di Achaz, e del suo popolo, fu commosso, come gli alberi di un bosco si muovono per lo vento.
3 Then sayde the Lord vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,
Allora il Signore disse ad Isaia: Esci ora incontro ad Achaz, tu, e Seariasub, tuo figliuolo, al capo del condotto della pescina alta, verso la strada del campo del purgator di panni.
4 And say vnto him, Take heede, and be still: feare not, neither be faint hearted for the two tailes of these smoking firebrands, for the furious wrath of Rezin and of Aram, and of Remaliahs sonne:
E digli. Prendi guardia che tu te ne stii queto; non temere, e non avviliscasi il cuor tuo per queste due code di tizzoni fumanti; per l'ardente ira di Resin, e della Siria, e del figliuolo di Remalia.
5 Because Aram hath taken wicked counsell against thee, and Ephraim, and Remaliahs sonne, saying,
Perciocchè la Siria, Efraim, e il figliuolo di Remalia, hanno preso un consiglio di male contro a te, dicendo:
6 Let vs goe vp against Iudah, and let vs waken them vp, and make a breach therein for vs, and set a King in the mids thereof, euen the sonne of Tabeal.
Saliamo contro alla Giudea, e dividiamola in parti, e spartiamola fra noi, e costituiamo re in mezzo di essa il figliuolo di Tabeal.
7 Thus sayth the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it be.
Così ha detto il Signore Iddio: [Questo] non avrà effetto, e non sarà.
8 For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within fiue and threescore yeere, Ephraim shalbe destroyed from being a people.
Perciocchè Damasco [è] il capo della Siria, e Resin [è] il capo di Damasco; e infra i sessantacinque anni, Efraim sarà fiaccato, sì che non sarà più popolo.
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliahs sonne. If ye beleeue not, surely ye shall not be established.
E Samaria [è] il capo di Efraim, e il figliuolo di Remalia il capo di Samaria. Non credete voi, perchè non siete accertati?
10 And the Lord spake againe vnto Ahaz, saying,
E il Signore continuò a parlare ad Achaz, dicendo:
11 Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue. (Sheol h7585)
Domandati un segno al Signore Iddio tuo; domanda[lo] da alto, o da basso. (Sheol h7585)
12 But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.
Ed Achaz disse: Io non [lo] domanderò, e non tenterò il Signore.
13 Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?
Ed [Isaia] disse: Ascoltate ora, casa di Davide: [Evvi] egli troppo poca cosa di travagliar gli uomini, che anche travagliate l'Iddio mio?
14 Therefore the Lord himselfe will giue you a signe. Beholde, the virgine shall conceiue and beare a sonne, and she shall call his name Immanu-el.
Perciò, il Signore stesso vi darà un segno: Ecco, la Vergine concepirà, e partorirà un Figliuolo; e tu chiamerai il suo nome Emmanuele.
15 Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good.
Egli mangerà burro e miele, finchè egli sappia riprovare il male, ed eleggere il bene.
16 For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.
Perciocchè, avanti che questo fanciullo sappia riprovare il male ed eleggere il bene, la terra che tu abbomini sarà abbandonata dalla presenza de' suoi due re.
17 The Lord shall bring vpon thee, and vpon thy people, and vpon thy fathers house (the dayes that haue not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Iudah) euen the King of Asshur.
Il Signore farà venir sopra te, e sopra il tuo popolo, e sopra la casa di tuo padre, de' giorni, quali non son [giammai] venuti, dal giorno che Efraim si dipartì da Giuda; [cioè: ] il re degli Assiri.
18 And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur,
Ed avverrà che, in quel giorno, il Signore fischierà alle mosche che [sono] all'estremità de' fiumi di Egitto; ed alle api, che [son] nel paese di Assiria.
19 And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places.
E quelle verranno, e si riposeranno tutte nelle valli deserte, e nelle caverne delle rocce, e sopra ogni spino, e sopra ogni arboscello.
20 In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.
In quel giorno il Signore raderà, col rasoio tolto a prezzo, [che è] di là dal Fiume, [cioè], col re di Assiria, il capo, e i peli de' piedi; e anche la barba tutta interamente.
21 And in the same day shall a man nourish a yong kow, and two sheepe.
Ed avverrà in quel giorno, che, se alcuno avrà salvata una vitella e due pecore,
22 And for the abundance of milke, that they shall giue, hee shall eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, which is left within the land.
per l'abbondanza del latte che faranno, egli mangerà del burro; perciocchè chi sarà restato in mezzo della terra, mangerà burro e miele.
23 And at the same day euery place, wherein shalbe a thousand vines, shalbe at a thousand pieces of siluer: so it shalbe for the briers and for the thornes.
Ed avverrà in quel giorno, che ogni luogo, dove saranno state mille viti, [del prezzo] di mille [sicli] d'argento, sarà ridotto in vepri ed in pruni.
24 With arrowes and with bowe shall one come thither: because all the land shall be briers and thornes.
Vi si entrerà dentro con saette, e con arco; perciocchè tutta la terra non sarà altro che vepri e pruni.
25 But on all the mountaines, which shalbe digged with the mattocke, there shall not come thither the feare of briers and thornes: but they shalbe for the sending out of bullocks, and for the treading of sheepe.
E in tutti i monti che solevano arroncarsi col roncone, non verrà timore alcuno di vepri, nè di pruni; ma saranno per mandarvi [a pascere] i buoi, e per esser calcati dalle pecore.
