Isaiah 58

1 Crye aloude, spare not: lift vp thy voyce like a trumpet, and shewe my people their transgression, and to the house of Iaakob, their sinnes.

Rufe getrost, schone nicht! Erhebe deine Stimme wie eine Posaune und verkündige meinem Volk ihr Übertreten und dem Hause Jakob ihre Sünde!

2 Yet they seeke me dayly, and will knowe my wayes, euen as a nation that did righteously, and had not forsaken the statutes of their God: they aske of me the ordinances of iustice: they wil drawe neere vnto God, saying,

Sie suchen mich täglich und wollen meine Wege wissen, als ein Volk, das Gerechtigkeit schon getan und das Recht ihres Gottes nicht verlassen hätte. Sie fordern mich zu Recht und wollen mit ihrem Gott rechten.

3 Wherefore haue we fasted, and thou seest it not? we haue punished our selues, and thou regardest it not. Beholde, in the day of your fast you will seeke your will, and require all your dettes.

Warum fasten wir, und du siehest es nicht an? Warum tun wir unserm Leibe wehe, und du willst es nicht wissen? Siehe, wenn ihr fastet, so übet ihr euren Willen und treibet alle eure Schuldiger.

4 Beholde, ye fast to strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickednesse: ye shall not fast as ye doe to day, to make your voyce to be heard aboue.

Siehe, ihr fastet, daß ihr hadert, und zanket und schlaget mit der Faust ungöttlich. Fastet nicht also, wie ihr jetzt tut, daß ein Geschrei von euch in der Höhe gehöret wird.

5 Is it such a fast that I haue chosen, that a man should afflict his soule for a day, and to bowe downe his head, as a bull rush, and to lie downe in sackecloth and ashes? wilt thou call this a fasting, or an acceptable day to the Lord?

Sollte das ein Fasten sein, das ich erwählen soll, daß ein Mensch seinem Leibe des Tages übel tue, oder seinen Kopf hänge wie ein Schilf, oder auf einem Sack und in der Asche liege? Wollt ihr das ein Fasten nennen und einen Tag dem HERRN angenehm?

6 Is not this the fasting, that I haue chosen, to loose the bandes of wickednes, to take off the heauie burdens, and to let the oppressed goe free, and that ye breake euery yoke?

Das ist aber ein Fasten, das ich erwähle: Laß los, welche du mit Unrecht verbunden hast; laß ledig, welche du beschwerest; gib frei, welche du drängest; reiß weg allerlei Last;

7 Is it not to deale thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poore that wander, vnto thine house? when thou seest the naked, that thou couer him, and hide not thy selfe from thine owne flesh?

brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot und die, so im Elend sind, führe ins Haus; so du einen nackend siehest, so kleide ihn und entzeuch dich nicht von deinem Fleisch.

8 Then shall thy light breake foorth as the morning, and thine health shall grow speedily: thy righteousnes shall goe before thee, and the glorie of the Lord shall embrace thee.

Alsdann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie die Morgenröte und deine Besserung wird schnell wachsen, und deine Gerechtigkeit wird vor dir her gehen, und die HERRLIchkeit des HERRN wird dich zu sich nehmen.

9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answere: thou shalt cry and hee shall say, Here I am: if thou take away from the mids of thee the yoke, the putting foorth of the finger, and wicked speaking:

Dann wirst du rufen, so wird dir der HERR antworten; wenn du wirst schreien, wird er sagen: Siehe, hie bin ich! So du niemand bei dir beschweren wirst, noch mit Fingern zeigen, noch übel reden,

10 If thou powre out thy soule to the hungrie, and refresh the troubled soule: then shall thy light spring out in the darkenes, and thy darkenes shalbe as the noone day.

und wirst den Hungrigen lassen finden dein Herz und die elende Seele sättigen, so wird dein Licht in Finsternis aufgehen, und dein Dunkel wird sein wie der Mittag;

11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfie thy soule in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watred garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters faile not.

und der HERR wird dich immerdar führen und deine Seele sättigen in der Dürre und deine Gebeine stärken, und wirst sein wie ein gewässerter Garten und wie eine Wasserquelle, welcher es nimmer an Wasser fehlet.

12 And they shalbe of thee, that shall builde the olde waste places: thou shalt rayse vp the foundations for many generations, and thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach and the restorer of the pathes to dwell in.

Und soll durch dich gebauet werden, was lange wüste gelegen ist, und wirst Grund legen, der für und für bleibe, und sollst heißen: Der die Lücken verzäunet und die Wege bessert, daß man da wohnen möge.

13 If thou turne away thy foote from the Sabbath, from doing thy will on mine holy day, and call the Sabbath a delite, to consecrate it, as glorious to the Lord, and shalt honour him, not doing thine owne wayes, nor seeking thine owne will, nor speaking a vaine word,

So du deinen Fuß von dem Sabbat kehrest, daß du nicht tust, was dir gefällt an meinem heiligen Tage, so wird's ein lustiger Sabbat heißen, den HERRN zu heiligen und zu preisen. Denn so wirst du denselbigen preisen, wenn du nicht tust deine Wege, noch darin erfunden werde, was dir gefällt, oder was du redest.

14 Then shalt thou delite in the Lord, and I wil cause thee to mount vpon the hie places of the earth, and feede thee with the heritage of Iaakob thy father: for the mouth of ye Lord hath spoken it.

Alsdann wirst du Lust haben am HERRN, und ich will dich über die Höhen auf Erden schweben lassen und will dich speisen mit dem Erbe deines Vaters Jakob; denn des HERRN Mund sagt es.
