Isaiah 50
1 Thus sayeth the Lord, Where is that bill of your mothers diuorcement, whome I haue cast off? or who is the creditour to whome I solde you? Beholde, for your iniquities are yee solde, and because of your transgressions is your mother forsaken.
Ainsi a dit l'Eternel; où sont les lettres de divorce de votre mère que j'ai renvoyée? ou qui est celui de mes créanciers à qui je vous aie vendus? voilà, vous avez été vendus pour vos iniquités, et votre mère a été renvoyée pour vos forfaits.
2 Wherefore came I, and there was no man? I called, and none answered: is mine hand so shortened, that it cannot helpe? or haue I no power to deliuer? Beholde, at my rebuke I drie vp the Sea: I make the floods desert: their fish rotteth for want of water, and dieth for thirst.
Pourquoi suis-je venu, et il ne s'est trouvé personne? j'ai crié, et il n'y a personne qui ait répondu. Ma main est-elle en quelque sorte raccourcie, tellement que je ne puisse pas racheter? ou n'y a-t-il plus de force en moi pour délivrer? Voici, je fais tarir la mer, quand je la tance; je réduis les fleuves en désert, tellement que leur poisson devient puant, étant mort de soif, parce qu'il n'y a point d'eau.
3 I clothe the heauens with darkenesse, and make a sacke their couering.
Je revêts les cieux de noirceur, et je mets un sac pour leur couverture.
4 The Lord God hath giuen me a tongue of the learned, that I shoulde knowe to minister a woord in time to him that is weary: he will raise me vp in the morning: in the morning hee will waken mine eare to heare, as the learned.
Le Seigneur l'Eternel m'a donné la langue des savants, pour savoir assaisonner la parole à celui qui est accablé de [maux]; chaque matin il me réveille soigneusement afin que je prête l'oreille aux discours des sages.
5 The Lord God hath opened mine eare and I was not rebellious, neither turned I backe.
Le Seigneur l'Eternel, m'a ouvert l'oreille, et je n'ai point été rebelle, et ne me suis point retiré en arrière.
6 I gaue my backe vnto the smiters, and my cheekes to the nippers: I hidde not my face from shame and spitting.
J'ai exposé mon dos à ceux qui me frappaient, et mes joues à ceux qui me tiraient le poil, je n'ai point caché mon visage en arrière des opprobres, ni des crachats.
7 For the Lord God will helpe me, therefore shall I not bee confounded: therefore haue I set my face like a flint, and I knowe that I shall not be ashamed.
Mais le Seigneur l'Eternel m'a aidé, c'est pourquoi je n'ai point été confus; et ainsi, j'ai rendu mon visage semblable à un caillou; car je sais que je ne serai point rendu honteux.
8 Hee is neere that iustifieth mee: who will contend with me? Let vs stande together: who is mine aduersarie? let him come neere to me.
Celui qui me justifie est près; qui est-ce qui plaidera contre moi? comparaissons ensemble; qui est-ce qui est mon adverse partie? qu'il approche de moi.
9 Beholde, the Lord God will helpe me: who is he that can condemne me? loe, they shall waxe olde as a garment: the mothe shall eate them vp.
Voilà, le Seigneur, l'Eternel m'aidera, qui sera-ce qui me condamnera? voilà, eux tous seront usés comme un vêtement, la teigne les rongera.
10 Who is among you that feareth the Lord? let him heare the voyce of his seruant: hee that walketh in darkenesse, and hath no light, let him trust in the Name of the Lord, and staye vpon his God.
Qui est celui d'entre vous qui craigne l'Eternel, [et] qui écoute la voix de son serviteur? Que celui qui a marché dans les ténèbres, et qui n'avait point de clarté, ait confiance au Nom de l'Eternel, et qu'il s'appuie sur son Dieu.
11 Beholde, all you kindle a fire, and are compassed about with sparkes: walke in the light of your fire, and in the sparkes that ye haue kindled. This shall ye haue of mine hand: ye shall lye downe in sorowe.
Voilà, vous tous qui allumez le feu, et qui vous ceignez d'étincelles, marchez à la lueur de votre feu, et dans les étincelles que vous avez embrasées; ceci vous a été fait de ma main, vous serez gisants dans les tourments.
