Isaiah 45
1 Thus sayeth the Lord vnto Cyrus his anointed, whose right hand I haue holden to subdue nations before him: therefore will I weaken the loynes of Kings and open the doores before him, and the gates shall not be shut:
So spricht Jahwe zu seinem Gesalbten, zu Cyrus - dessen Rechte ich ergriffen habe, um Völker vor ihm niederzutreten und die Hüften von Königen zu entgürten, daß sich die Thüren vor ihm aufthun, und die Thore nicht verschlossen bleiben:
2 I will goe before thee and make the crooked streight: I will breake the brasen doores, and burst the yron barres.
Ich werde vor dir hergehen und das Höckerichte ebnen; eherne Thüren will ich zertrümmern und eiserne Riegel zerhauen,
3 And I will giue thee the treasures of darkenesse, and the things hid in secret places, that thou maist know that I am the Lord which call thee by thy name, euen the God of Israel.
und will dir die im Dunkel lagernden Schätze geben und tief versteckte Reichtümer dir aufthun, damit du erkennest, daß ich, Jahwe es bin, der dich bei deinem Namen ruft, der Gott Israels!
4 For Iaakob my seruants sake, and Israel mine elect, I will euen call thee by thy name and name thee, though thou hast not knowen me.
Um meines Knechtes Jakobs und um Israels, meines Erwählten, willen rief ich dich bei deinem Namen, belegte dich mit Schmeichelnamen, ohne daß du mich noch kanntest.
5 I am the Lord and there is none other: there is no God besides me: I girded thee though thou hast not knowen me,
Ich bin Jahwe, und keiner sonst, und außer mir giebt es keinen Gott! Ich gürtete dich, ohne daß du mich noch kannest,
6 That they may knowe from the rising of the sunne and from the West, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none other.
damit sie erkennen sollten da, wo die Sonne aufgeht und wo sie untergeht, daß es niemanden giebt außer mir: ich bin Jahwe, und keiner sonst,
7 I forme the light and create darkenes: I make peace and create euill: I the Lord doe all these things.
der das Licht bildet und Finsternis schafft, der Heil wirkt und Unheil schafft, - ich, Jahwe, bin's, der alles dies bewirkt.
8 Ye heauens, send the dewe from aboue, and let the cloudes droppe downe righteousnesse: let the earth open, and let saluation and iustice growe foorth: let it bring them foorth together: I the Lord haue created him.
Träufle, o Himmel, droben, und aus den Wolken möge Recht rieseln! Die Erde thue sich aufund trage reichlich Heil und lasse Gerechtigkeit zumal hervorsprossen: ich, Jahwe, habe es geschaffen!
9 Woe be vnto him that striueth with his maker, the potsherd with the potsherds of the earth: shall the clay say to him that facioneth it, What makest thou? or thy worke, It hath none hands?
Hadert wohl ein Gefäß mit seinem Bildner, eine Scherbe mit dem Werkmeister in Thonerde? Sagt wohl der Thon zu seinem Bildner: Was machst du? oder zu dem, der mit ihm arbeitet: du hast ja keine Hände!
10 Woe vnto him that sayeth to his father, What hast thou begotten? or to his mother, What hast thou brought foorth?
Sagt wohl jemand zum Vater: Warum zeugst du? und zu dessen Weibe: Warum kreißest du?
11 Thus saith the Lord, the holy one of Israel, and his maker, Aske me of things to come concerning my sonnes, and concerning the workes of mine hands: commande you me.
So spricht Jahwe, der Heilige Israels, und der es gebildet: Nach dem Zukünftigen fragt mich und in betreff meiner Söhne und des Werks meiner Hände laßt mich sorgen!
12 I haue made the earth, and created man vpon it: I, whose hands haue spred out the heauens, I haue euen commanded all their armie.
Ich habe die Erde gemacht und die Menschen auf ihr geschaffen; meine Hände haben den Himmel ausgespannt und all' ihr Heer habe ich beordert.
13 I haue raised him vp in righteousnesse, and I will direct all his wayes: he shall build my citie, and he shall let goe my captiues, not for price nor rewarde, saith the Lord of hostes.
Ich habe ihn erweckt, wie es Recht war, und alle seine Wege will ich ebnen: er wird meine Stadt aufbauen und meine Gefangenen loslassen, - nicht um einen Kaufpreis und nicht um ein Gegengeschenk: spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen.
14 Thus sayth the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and the marchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of stature shall come vnto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall follow thee, and shall goe in chaines: they shall fall downe before thee, and make supplication vnto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee, and there is none other God besides.
So spricht Jahwe: Der Erwerb Ägyptens und der Handelsertrag von Kusch und sie Sebaiten, die hochgewachsenen Männer, - auf dich werde sie übergehen und dir angehören: in Fesseln werden sie dir nachfolgen. Und sie werden vor dir niederfallen und dich anflehen: Nur in dir ist Gott und außerdem giebt es keinen, keine Gottheit weiter!
15 Verely thou, O God, hidest thy selfe, O God, the Sauiour of Israel.
Fürwahr, du bist ein verborgener Gott, Gott Israels, ein Erretter!
16 All they shalbe ashamed and also confounded: they shall goe to confusion together, that are the makers of images.
Zu Schanden werden sie alle und tief beschämt; insgesamt wandeln sie in Schmach dahin, die Götzenverfertiger.
17 But Israel shall be saued in the Lord, with an euerlasting saluation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded worlde without ende.
Israel jedoch ist durch Jahwe gerettet zu ewigem Heil: ihr sollt nicht mehr zu Schanden noch beschämt werden in alle Ewigkeit!
18 For thus saith the Lord (that created heauen, God himselfe, that formed the earth, and made it: he that prepared it, he created it not in vaine: he formed it to be inhabited) I am the Lord, and there is none other.
Denn so spricht Jahwe, der Schöpfer des Himmels, - er ist der alleinige Gott, der Bildner der Erde und ihr Verfertiger; er hat sie hergestellt: nicht zu einer Einöde hat er sie geschaffen, sondern daß sie bewohnt werde, hat er sie gebildet -: ich bin Jahwe und keiner sonst!
19 I haue not spoken in secrete, neither in a place of darkenes in the earth: I saide not in vaine vnto the seede of Iaakob, Seeke you me: I the Lord doe speake righteousnesse, and declare righteous things.
Nicht im Verborgenen habe ich geredet, an einer Stätte finstern Landes, noch habe ich zu den nachkommen Jakobs gesagt: Umsonst suchet mich! Ich, Jahwe, rede richtiges, verkündige Wahrhaftiges!
20 Assemble your selues, and come: drawe neere together, ye abiect of the Gentiles: they haue no knowledge, that set vp the wood of their idole, and pray vnto a god, that cannot saue them.
Versammelt euch und kommt herbei, tretet allesamt heran, die ihr den Heiden entronnen seid: ohne Einsicht sind, die sich schleppen mit ihren hölzernen Bildern und die beten zu einem Gotte, der nicht erretten kann.
21 Tell ye and bring them, and let them take counsell together, who hath declared this from the beginning? or hath tolde it of olde? Haue not I the Lord? and there is none other God beside me, a iust God, and a Sauiour: there is none beside me.
Thut kund und legt dar! Ja, beratschlagen mögen sie miteinander: Wer hat dies schon vor Alters verkündigt, vorlängst es kund gethan? War ich, Jahwe, es nicht? und keiner sonst ist Gott außer mir; einen wahrhaftigen und hilfreichen Gott giebt es nicht außer mir!
22 Looke vnto me, and ye shall be saued: all the endes of the earth shall be saued: for I am God, and there is none other.
Wendet euch zu mir und laßt euch erretten, all' ihr Enden der Erde; denn ich bin Gott, und keiner sonst!
23 I haue sworne by my selfe: the worde is gone out of my mouth in righteousnesse, and shall not returne, That euery knee shall bowe vnto me, and euery tongue shall sweare by me.
Bei mir selbst habe ich geschworen - Wahrhaftiges ist aus meinem Munde hervorgegangen, ein Wort, das nicht rückgängig werden soll -: Mir soll sich beugen jedes Knie, mir soll schwören jede Zunge!
24 Surely he shall say, In the Lord haue I righteousnesse and strength: he shall come vnto him, and all that prouoke him, shall be ashamed.
Nur bei Jahwe - soll man sprechen - giebt es Heilserweisungen und Kraft: zu ihm werden kommen und schämen werden sich müssen alle, die wider ihn entbrannt sind;
25 The whole seede of Israel shall be iustified, and glorie in the Lord.
in Jahwe werden gerechtfertigt und seiner werden sich zu rühmen haben alle Nachkommen Israels.
