Isaiah 3
1 For lo, the Lord God of hostes will take away from Ierusalem and from Iudah the stay and the strength: euen all the staye of bread, and all the stay of water,
Porque he aquí que el Señor, Yahvé de los ejércitos, quitará a Jerusalén y a Judá toda clase de apoyo, todo sostén de pan y todo sostén de agua;
2 The strong man, and the man of warre, the iudge and the prophet, the prudent and the aged,
el héroe, el guerrero y el juez, el profeta, el adivino y el anciano,
3 The captaine of fiftie, and the honourable, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent man.
el jefe de cincuenta y el hombre de prestigio el consejero, el perito artífice y el hábil encantador.
4 And I will appoint children to bee their princes, and babes shall rule ouer them.
Les daré muchachuelos por príncipes, y reinarán sobre ellos algunos mozalbetes.
5 The people shalbe oppressed one of another, and euery one by his neighbour: the children shall presume against the ancient, and the vile against the honourable.
En el pueblo tiranizará el uno al otro, y cada cual a su vecino; el joven se precipitará sobre el anciano, y el villano sobre el noble.
6 When euery one shall take holde of his brother of the house of his father, and say, Thou hast clothing: thou shalt bee our prince, and let this fall be vnder thine hand.
Pues uno echará mano de otro en la casa de su padre (diciendo): “Tú tienes vestido, sé nuestro príncipe, y hazte cargo de esta ruina.”
7 In that day hee shall sweare, saying, I cannot bee an helper: for there is no bread in mine house, nor clothing: therefore make me no prince of the people.
Pero él responderá en aquel día, diciendo: “Yo no soy médico, y en mi casa no hay pan ni ropa; no me hagáis príncipe del pueblo.”
8 Doubtlesse Ierusalem is fallen, and Iudah is fallen downe, because their tongue and workes are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glory.
Pues Jerusalén está bamboleando, y Judá caerá, porque sus palabras y sus obras están contra Yahvé; así irritan ellos los ojos de su gloria.
9 The triall of their countenance testifieth against them, yea, they declare their sinnes as Sodom, they hide them not. Wo be vnto their soules: for they haue rewarded euil vnto themselues.
El aspecto de su semblante da testimonio contra ellos; como Sodoma pregonan su pecado, y no lo encubren. ¡Ay de ellos! porque son ellos los causantes de su ruina.
10 Say ye, Surely it shalbe well with the iust: for they shall eate the fruite of their workes.
Decid al justo que le irá bien; pues comerá el fruto de sus obras.
11 Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him.
pero ¡ay del malo! Mal le irá; porque le será retribuido según las obras de sus manos.
12 Children are extortioners of my people, and women haue rule ouer them: O my people, they that leade thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Mi pueblo está oprimido por caprichosos, y mujeres lo gobiernan. Pueblo mío, los que te guían te hacen errar y destruyen el camino por donde debes seguir.
13 The Lord standeth vp to pleade, yea, hee standeth to iudge the people.
Se levanta Yahvé para hacer justicia; se pone de pie para juzgar a los pueblos:
14 The Lord shall enter into iudgement with the Ancients of his people and the princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the vineyarde: the spoyle of the poore is in your houses.
Yahvé entrará en juicio con los ancianos de su pueblo y con sus príncipes: “Vosotros habéis devorado la viña, en vuestras casas están los despojos del pobre.
15 What haue ye to do, that ye beate my people to pieces, and grinde the faces of the poore, saith the Lord, euen the Lord of hoasts?
¿Por qué aplastáis a mi pueblo, y moléis el rostro de los pobres?” dice el Señor, Yahvé de los ejércitos.
16 The Lord also saith, Because the daughters of Zion are hautie, and walke with stretched out neckes, and with wandering eyes, walking and minsing as they goe, and making a tinkeling with their feete,
Y dijo Yahvé: “Por cuanto las hijas de Sión son tan altivas y andan con el cuello erguido y guiñando los ojos, y caminan meneando el cuerpo al son de las ajorcas de sus pies,
17 Therefore shall the Lord make the heades of the daughters of Zion balde, and the Lord shall discouer their secrete partes.
por eso el Señor raerá la cabeza de las hijas de Sión, y Yahvé descubrirá sus vergüenzas.
18 In that day shall the Lord take away the ornament of the slippers, and the calles, and the round tyres,
En aquel día quitará el Señor las hermosas ajorcas, los solecillos y las lunetas,
19 The sweete balles, and the brasselets, and the bonnets,
los pendientes, los brazaletes y las cofias,
20 The tyres of the head, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablets, and the earings,
los turbantes, las cadenillas y los ceñidores, los pomos de olor y los amuletos,
21 The rings and the mufflers,
los anillos y los aros de la nariz,
22 The costly apparell and the vailes, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes,
los vestidos de gala y los mantos, los chales y los bolsitos,
23 And the glasses and the fine linen, and the hoodes, and the launes.
los espejos y la ropa fina, las tiaras y las mantillas.
24 And in steade of sweete sauour, there shall be stinke, and in steade of a girdle, a rent, and in steade of dressing of the heare, baldnesse, and in steade of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth, and burning in steade of beautie.
En lugar de perfume habrá hediondez; en lugar de ceñidor, una soga: en lugar de cabellos rizados, calvicie; en lugar de vestidos suntuosos, una túnica áspera; en lugar de hermosura, marca de fuego.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sworde, and thy strength in the battell.
Tus hombres a espada caerán, y tus fuertes en la batalla.
26 Then shall her gates mourne and lament, and she, being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground.
Se lamentarán las puertas de (Sión) y estarán de luto; y ella, desolada, se sentará en tierra.
