Isaiah 25
1 O Lord, thou art my God: I will exalt thee, I will prayse thy Name: for thou hast done wonderfull things, according to the counsels of old, with a stable trueth.
Jahwe, du bist mein Gott! Ich will dich hoch rühmen, will deinen Namen preisen. Denn du hast Wunder vollführt, längst gefaßte Beschlüsse in Treue und Wahrheit.
2 For thou hast made of a citie an heape, of a strong citie, a ruine: euen the palace of strangers of a citie, it shall neuer be built.
Denn du hast die Stadt in Steinhaufen, den festen Ort in Trümmer verwandelt, die Paläste der Barbaren in eine gewesene Stadt; niemals werden sie wieder aufgebaut!
3 Therefore shall the mightie people giue glory vnto thee: the citie of the strong nations shall feare thee.
Deshalb werden dich starke Völker ehren, die Städte gewaltthätiger Völker dich fürchten.
4 For thou hast bene a strength vnto the poore, euen a strength to the needie in his trouble, a refuge against the tempest, a shadow against the heate: for the blaste of the mightie is like a storme against the wall.
Denn du warst eine Burg für die Geringen, eine Burg für die Armen in ihrer Not, eine Zuflucht vor dem Unwetter, ein Schatten vor der Hitze. Denn das Schnauben der Gewaltthätigen ist wie ein Unwetter, das gegen die Wand prallt.
5 Thou shalt bring downe the noyse of the strangers, as the heate in a drie place: he wil bring downe the song of the mightie, as the heate in the shadowe of a cloude.
Wie die Hitze bei der Dürre, so dämpfst du das Gebrause der Barbaren; wie die Hitze durch den Schatten der Wolken, so verliert sich das Siegeslied der Gewaltthätigen.
6 And in this mountaine shall the Lord of hostes make vnto all people a feast of fat thinges, euen a feast of fined wines, and of fat thinges full of marow, of wines fined and purified.
Und Jahwe der Heerscharen wird für alle Völker auf diesem Berge bereiten ein Mahl von Fettspeisen, ein Mahl von Hefenweinen, von Fettspeisen, die mit Mark bereitet, von Hefenweinen, die gereinigt sind.
7 And he will destroy in this mountaine the couering that couereth all people, and the vaile that is spread vpon all nations.
Vernichten wird er auf diesem Berge die Hülle, die alle Völker verhüllt, und die Decke, die über alle Nationen gedeckt ist.
8 He wil destroy death for euer: and the Lord God wil wipe away the teares from all faces, and the rebuke of his people will he take away out of all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
Vernichten wird er den Tod für immer, und der Herr Jahwe wird die Thränen von allen Angesichtern abwischen und die Schmach seines Volkes überall auf Erden verschwinden lassen. Ja, Jahwe hat es geredet!
9 And in that day shall men say, Loe, this is our God: we haue waited for him, and he wil saue vs. This is the Lord, we haue waited for him: we will reioyce and be ioyfull in his saluation.
An jenem Tage wird man sprechen: Da ist unser Gott, von dem wir hofften, daß er uns helfen solle! Da ist Jahwe, auf den wir hofften! Laßt uns jubeln und fröhlich sein über seine Hilfe!
10 For in this mountaine shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shalbe threshed vnder him, euen as strawe is thresshed in Madmenah.
Denn die Hand Jahwes wird auf diesem Berge ruhen. Aber Moab wird an seinem Orte niedergetreten werden, wie Stroh im Wasser eines Misthaufens niedergetreten wird.
11 And he shall stretche out his hande in the middes of them (as he that swimmeth, stretcheth them out to swimme) and with the strength of his handes shall he bring downe their pride.
Und breitet es seine Hände darin aus, wie sie der Schwimmer zum Schwimmen ausbreitet, so wird er seinen Stolz samt den Kniffen seiner Hände niederdrücken.
12 The defence also of the height of thy walles shall he bring downe and lay lowe, and cast them to the ground, euen vnto the dust.
Deine steilen, hohen Mauern wird er niederstrecken, niederwerfen, zu Boden stoßen bis in den Staub!
